Bortiforte Industries was a security and asset management company run by the noble-born Bortifortes of Kalos. What had once primarily been a metal supplier in years past became updated under the leadership of Édouard Bortiforte, who invested in a research division that transformed their operations to focus on the manufacturing of intelligent security technology. This turned them into a key player in Kalos's technological landscape.

Intelligent tracking of Pokémon combined with military-grade containment made for a successful profit center, and the Bortifortes catapulted almost overnight to success in Kalos as the family was prematurely heralded as the next Silph or Stone of the world.

AS DECEMBER USHERS IN A HOENN THAT HAS SURVIVED METENO, the National Museum of Natural History hosts a masked ball entitled the WINTER MASQUERADE. Located in Slateport's upper district, the venue is highly accessible, with proceeds from all tickets purchased sent to recovery funds for damages caused in Littleroot, Mt. Pyre, and all affected elsewhere in the aftermath of METENO's impact.[break][break]

A recently released press release at HNN details the event's formulation at the hands of Councilwomen Elinor Anderson and PENELOPE LIVY in coordination with Museum Director Dr. GIDEON GRAVES, as well as the many benefactors attributed to its funding.[break][break]

The event's invitations emphasize FORMAL WEAR ONY and, if possible, a formal accessory for accompanying Pokemon (e.g. bowtie). Battles will be prohibited, due to the peaceful nature of the event. As this is a masquerade, MASKS ARE REQUIRED.[break][break]

Delibird Deliveries has ensured that these invitations across all of Hoenn have been delivered in a prompt and discreet manner, overseen by the capable Locke Jamison to ensure neither rain, sleet, nor wormhole can keep any attendees from receiving their ticket to arrive.[break][break]
Those who have trouble finding fashions appropriate for the event would find relief in the efforts of velda glaus and The House of Glaus, whose generous donations of several fashions for the event guarantee all can attend looking their best.

A SPARKLING SNOW BALL

The finest classical musicians in Hoenn and their Pokemon have been hired to perform for this occasion with familiar songs of solstice cheer and winter romance. Their performance will begin shortly after attendees have arrived.[break]

The multiple levels of the museum have been cleared and rearranged to invite room to dance, giving patrons the opportunity to enjoy the exhibits without hindrance to the festivities. Attendees may pass through the Hall of Bones & Fossils, the Hall of Human Origins, and the Hall of Pokemon Life at their leisure, all of which have been transformed into a veritable winter wonderland.[break]

Several exhibits have been heavily advertised as part the later festivities. The Hall of Geology, Gems, & Minerals will include several particularly stunning jewels on display, having been salvaged from the mineral vein of METENO itself and donated on a loan by League Scientist Eva Morales. TOUCHING IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED, however.[break]

Later in the evening, the carefully curated biome of the Insectarium will provide a respite for aching heels, allowing for refreshments, dining, and private conversation beneath the light of Illumise and Volbeat. Moonlight streams through the panels of glass, offering an enchanting ambience to the surroundings.

A SNOWSWEPT EVENING

Sleek cars and limousines line up outside of the National Museum of Natural History, which has been strung up in twinkling holiday lights and wreaths in celebration of the advent of the winter season.[break][break]

The higher echelons of Hoenn and the lowliest of the daily 9-5ers all are masked for this illustrious event, all indistinguishable from one another save for the transportation that ferries them here in their sparkling finery. Mr. Mimes serve as valets that greet at the entrance, ferrying off cars as needed and checking for elegant snowflake-patterned tickets -- courtesy of one Harper Beck's Circinus & Sagitta print shop (fern delaney).[break][break]

Rotoms flash brightly as guests step out of their vehicles, paparazzi to the attendees crossing the red carpet -- their appearance courtesy of ANA STONE's RotomTV, the official source of League coverage for this event. The Pokémon hover expectantly at the front of the museum and within its interior, taking footage and offering the opportunity for soundbites from any of the chattier guests.

NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM

As the revolving doors of the museum open wide, the welcoming foyer hosts plenty of room for mingling as the rooms beyond are roped off, Belial Stone's Anvil Inc. security guards standing by to prevent anyone from entering prematurely.[break][break]

There is much icy splendour and beauty to behold here. Gleaming ice sculptures of Dratini and Milotic dazzle the eye, expertly designed by luciano fisk, while beautiful wintry floral arrangements waft the delicate, sweet fragrance of willow atkins and Elisabeth Fiorelli's flower shops.[break][break]

"Welcome, welcome!" a female voice rings out as the attendees gather, her masked face revealing the beaming countenance of who you can only assume is the museum event coordinator. "On behalf of the National Museum of Natural History, we are delighted to have you here for the Winter Masquerade![break][break]

"As a charity gala, all efforts will be focused on helping repair the damage caused during the events of METENO. We hope you can enjoy yourselves fully knowing what a positive impact you're making on Hoenn today."[break][break]

MEMBER EVENT - ROCKET PVE

MAY 1 - JUNE 30

IC EXPLANATION

S.P.E.C.T.R.A. IS A ROCKET-BASED INITIATIVE that was run by former Rocket Admin Remiel Calcifet, and now overseen by Admin Felix Gallagher alongside Belial Stone. This initiative is designed to counteract the greatest threat facing the organization: the presence of Avatars. As part of this, several training programs, assessments, and exams have been brainstormed and developed by the highest members of Rocket to ensure that Rocket is ready to counteract those celestial threats.

THE TRINITY TRIALS ARE ONE SUCH DEVELOPMENT. While taking inspiration from the past Spring's S.P.E.C.T.R.A. Exams, the Trinity Trials seek instead to test the collaborative ability of Rockets aspiring to fight Avatars, placing them in teams of three to see how they fare in a simulated battle against a Legendary. This data was gathered by S.P.E.C.T.R.A.'s intelligence efforts, overseen by Underboss Elisabeth Fiorelli.[break][break]

Participants will have to rely on their STRENGTH, INTELLIGENCE, and INSTINCT to overcome these dangerous, high-risk targets. While it is a simulated battle, the difficulty will be very real.[break][break]

Evaluators from among the higher echelons of Rocket will be watching from afar, judging the potential of Rocket's current wave of recruits as they face off against the world's greatest myths and legends...

OOC EXPLANATION

ONCE SIGN-UPS ARE COMPLETED, this event will take part in several phases:[break][break]

PHASE 1: INITIATION (MEGATHREAD - PARTICIPANTS)

In this phase, participants will join a mega-thread where the event opens. This megathread will have set deadlines for posting and be overseen by Underboss Elisabeth Fiorelli. This is designed to allow participants the opportunity to roleplay with one another, discussing their expectations and fears for the event. At the end of the megathread, teams will be announced, and the next phase will begin.[break][break]

PHASE 2A: THE TRIALS BEGIN (MULTIPLE PVE THREADS)

In this phase, several threads will be opened up with customized opening posts that establish a set series of prompts for each team to complete. These will involve writing a collaborative battle simulation against a Legendary Pokemon, where they must find ways to defeat the Pokemon using what skills and abilities are currently available to them. These will be largely self-directed, much like the on-going "The Wilds" event, and will each end when the battle has concluded.[break][break]

PHASE 2B: EVALUATION (MEGATHREAD - EVALUATORS)

As the threads for the trials open, a megathread allowing the Rocket canons who serve as evaluators will concurrently open in an unseen viewing deck. Viewing the battles on their own monitors, and fully aware of the events of the initiation megathread, the evaluators may comment among themselves on the participants' prowess, make idle bets on who they expect to succeed, and either support or hinder their actions in creative ways that will be mod-directed. This will end when the trial threads end.[break][break]

PHASE 3: RESOLUTION (MEGATHREAD - TENTATIVE)

An opportunity to roleplay out the aftermath will be provided. The format of this is up to change depending on the flow and pacing of the event, but is anticipated to be either a megathread, or a means by which the evaluators might submit their personalized evaluations to each team as a means of providing future story hooks.
