One of his attendances had apparently been injured while out on duty. How annoying but he himself hasn't been out on the field since his arm was destroyed in the tree. So like before he's done before he calls some random grunt for now, Ceri Glynn. Might as well see what they were made of as they did work in his labs, but he personally hasn't seen much up close as of yet. [break][break]

The goal for the day was to collect samples to easily drug some of their experimental pokemon to make them easier to tame. "Have you found a decent amount?" he'll ask before in a flash of white everything around them seems to go dark as a dome appears.[break][break]

Despite all the time Ceri spends working at Team Rocket’s lab, rarely is she asked to assist one of the head scientists. Raphael Pryde is someone she actually respects, and while the Galarian is usually well aware that she should try not to fuck up during her missions and tasks, this time it’s that awareness comes for reasons other than not wanting to deal with the repercussions of doing as much.

Collecting samples? She sure as hell can do that! Years of toxinological study came hand-in-hand with hours spent out in the wilderness doing exactly that, so the task is actually fulfilled without much problem

That’s when the dome appears, and where there should likely be concern, there’s fascination to replace it. It reminds her of the one where she encountered the purple Sneasel that accompanies her.

Seems like having a poison expert in his labs didn't bug him as much as he thought it would as it seems she gathered all they needed and seemed willing it to do. Though now he might require to aide at the dome that has appeared around them. Especially as he sill only had a single arm. He decides to bring out an extra pokemon as a just in case. One of the very pokemon he ended put catching in one of these. [break][break]

"Unstabilization," he answers simply at the question, noting some pokemon wondering who have simply spawned in a flash, "Hoenn has been targeted by aliens once before with so called 'wormwholes' and now that another group is possibly using Unown to do the same it has destablized our own and now rifts like these appear," he continues as he urgers for her to follow to be out of site for now. [break][break]

He'd leave, but the scientist he is makes him curious to study the pokemon from these rifts.

Not an area in which she’s an expert beyond its applications in engineering, pure data, and crunching numbers, but still an area in which she’s all too interested. String theory… Multidimensional Reality… Matter Displacement… It’s all fascinating to her.

There’s an itch, a need to no more, and while she too knows about the dangers of distortions like this one, her curiosity far outweighs her caution. So, she follows after Doctor Pryde, carefully listening to his explanations.

”Oooh, I see. That makes sense! But… rifts like these happen really often lately, right? Ever since the excursion into the Tree of Life? It’s like it’s growing more and more unstable with the more rifts that open… that sounds like it’ll be catastrophic eventually…”

"Do note that it is mostly a theory," he ensures to claim but based off everything he seen and heard it doesn't seem far from the truth. Though there is a rare genuine smile that comes to his face as the idea of just how much chaos this could cause seemed to bring joy. Why the idea of such chaos would bring a smile who knows. The man has his own plans and desires that he doesn't share. [break][break]

That's when a dark aura comes from under them and a pokemon attacks. "Move!" he would warn as he tries dive himself out of the way. When he looks up he would notice pokemon he is not that familiar with. Though its structure was, purhaps another of these 'variant' pokemon that come only form these distortions.[break][break]

Subject 1 is quick to move and attempt to use an AURA SPHERE only to have it go right through the white pokemon. [break][break]

Strange.

Ceri may just not be made for field work. When Doctor Pryde tells her to move out of the way, there’s a rush of adrenaline that causes her to jump to the side and end up falling hard on the ground. She winces at the pain, but on the bright side, at least she had managed to avoid the strange pokémon’s attack.

She may also be no battle expert, but as a biologist, knowing which types are effective against which is fundamental, especially when it comes to some kinds of research.

AURA SPHERE going right through the pokémon can only mean one thing.

”It’s a ghost.” Ceri points out the obvious as she begins to stand from the ground. She nods towards her Sneasel variant, nodding for it to attack, and when it does so, it rushes towards the wild pokémon, slashing with METAL CLAWS.

"It looks kind of like a Zoroark." After standing and brushing off dust, her gaze fixes on the fight.
