The first thing that came out from the undergrowth literally pelted him with leaves the moment he’d passed a certain bunch of trees.

“What the hell!” he exclaimed, fumbling around clumsily and fishing out his Noivern’s Pokéball a few moments later as the Treecko, smug cheeky little bastard perched on the trees, continued to pelt him with its Leafage attack.

“Geez, you’re such a handful!” he grumbled as Ava took to the air, screeching in the process as this time the Grass-type took to the air and attempted to land a mid-air Night Slash on the Noivern.

One solid Air Slash from the bat-like Pokémon later, the Grass-type was sent flying towards the ground—and another pinned it down, before she shrieked in Arashi’s direction.

“Got it!” he shouted as he fumbled again—shit, things were much harder to do one-handed—as he threw the first Safari Ball at the pinned-down Grass-type.

After the Grass-type was successfully captured, there was something hot on its heels—this time a blur of orange announced its presence with a Flame Charge as it somehow clobbered the Noivern who hadn’t taken off yet.

“Oh, come on,” he cackled as the bat Pokémon took offense to that, letting out a shriek before taking off into the skies and this time throwing a burst of Dragon Pulse at the little bugger of a Fire-type.

“Go take care of that one, I’ll see if I find something else around here!” he shouted as he turned tail and went in the direction where the Torchic had come from, looking for whatever else would come out next…

He hadn’t gone too far when another loud shrieking noise from the Noivern reached his ears—the Torchic had used Aerial Ace and literally thrown its tiny little body into the airborne Noivern, who batted it back with a second Dragon Pulse just as he returned.

“Damn, Ava,” he chuckled as he fumbled around and fished out a second Safari Ball, chucking it at the Torchic.

At this point the Noivern’s flight pattern was listing slightly downward, and the next thing that came rocketing across their way—perfect.

At least, perfect for Ava the Noivern.

While he was busy collecting the second Safari Ball that contained one feisty Torchic inside it, the Mudkip that happened across the two suddenly dropped a pelting burst of boulders in the form of an Ancient Power attack—flying right toward the Noivern who’d come down to rest!

A loud shriek pierced the air as this time, the Noivern backed away from the miniature avalanche, before aiming an incoming Absorb to weaken the Mudkip.

The Water-type yowled. A few moments later, a large wall of water came crashing down—drenching both the Noivern and Arashi…

Loud exclamations of anger came from the lone human as he was drenched by the torrential tidal wave as the Noivern continued to sap energy from the Mudkip by Absorbing as much energy as she could manage.

Long after the wall of Surf had receded, the Water-type was passed out not too far from where a drenched-to-the-bone Arashi clobbered the Mudkip with the third Safari Ball.

He was not planning on taking an unexpected shower today.

While he already had a Shelgon of his own, the last encounter was—well, there was someone looking for a Bagon, and therefore this proved to be perfect.

Of course the little draconid immediately opened fire with a Twister just as the Noivern had taken off—how rude!

“Ava! Go get ‘em!” he yelled, mopping his drenched hair from his line of sight as the Noivern took to the skies, screaming all the while as she unloaded with a Dragon Pulse of her own, which the Bagon countered with a peppering—whoa, wait a second! Flamethrower?!

Damn, whoever was getting this draconid was going to be very lucky!

“Go, go, go!” he shouted, getting the final Safari Ball ready and winding up as the two draconids exchanged blows—trading flames for draconic energy as the Flamethrower and the Dragon Pulse continued between them, an even fight all things considered.

However, the Noivern would win out, and with one last Air Slash burst, the Bagon was sent flying towards him, the red beam of light catching it before it went too far…
