This had to be the hardest thing she'd ever had to do in her life. Never had she been quite so stumped on how to handle this particular job. Why her? Why was she asked to do this grueling task? It was beyond aggravating. Somehow, it was even worse than the time she'd had to dress up as a Christmas elf with jayden cross . What could possibly be worse than that? Baby-sitting.

Kids and Marza did not mix well. She'd never had to deal with them before and apparently this kid wasn't entirely worthless, but the point remained that she didn't want to do this. It felt like such a waste of time. "Don't let her blow anything up." The hell was that supposed to mean?

Frankly, the kid could do whatever it wanted. She didn't really fucking care, but what she did care about was her current standing in Rocket. She had to lead by example or whatever — which seemed like horseshit now that she thought about it. The only parental example she had was her own father, whom wasn't exactly father of the year material. This seemed like it was more of a job for fern delaney than her.

"What's up?" Marza snapped, having lost some of her cool in the search for the little pipsqueak. She didn't know what she'd done or who she'd pissed off to get handed this job, but someone was going to hear her bitching about it. Marza was an only child, she'd never been around other kids and her father had never passed for a paternal figure a day in his sorry, miserable life.

In other words, she was not cut out for baby sitting. She was the last person who should've been forced into this role if even for a single day. She forced herself to relax with a heavy breath. "Stop running away, or I'll lock you in a room and call it a day. What the hell do you need to pick up?" Something about chemicals. Didn't they say not to let her blow anything up? Oh fuck it, whatever. At least that would be interesting.
