Rang a voice., that wasn't hers. Rather, it was an orange pokedex that appeared to buzz around. The trainer followed not too far behind, hands held close together and under her chest. Was the sliggoo going to be alrght? The little thing got curious, slugging long without much a care. The thing is? Faith cared. A lot. A heck of a lot. It was because of this, that she couldn't find where her pokemon was. What if the little guy got lost? What would she do if she couldn't find him? The thought itself scared her, enough to raise her voice the slightest bit, knowing that she might, probably, most likely, lose it the next day if she shouted too loud. [break][break]

"Ahh.. This is going to take a while.." Her voice, though it was at normal volume, was soft as a whisper. She was grateful that her rotom was taking the initiative to go look for her Sliggoo, but she.. Was still having some issues. The ditto at her side immediately transformed into the rotom not too far away and, though they couldn't speak human language, the cries of a louder rotom floating around in the air was audible. Thankfully, the two of them kept an eye on their trainer now and then, while also keeping in her field of vision. Hopefully, the little thing was alright..[break][break]

Meanwhile, the sliggoo had gone for a bit of fun, slicking around against the ground. It was more to scare the trainer, so it was ollowing along but not making much a sound as it followed out of sight. The clear film was left as residue and - if the normal passerby weren't careful - they'd probably slip on it.

The woman stops short, pausing even her breath to listen. Furrowing her brow, she takes another step, convinced she's just hearing things, before yet another cry pierces her ears. [break][break]

"What the.."[break][break]

Emma had come out here to get some peace and quiet, not to be interrupted by some foolish child and her Pokemon.[break][break]

From a distance now she could see two Rotom buzzing around in a panic, clearly looking for someone. Hades stiffened, clearly unsure about the situation given Emma's infamy. [break][break]

One hand raises to silence the beast, and she glances off to the side to see a slimey trail, with a Goomey at the helm of it. Clicking her tongue in mild irritation, she would begin to approach the girl ahead of her.[break][break]

"If you're looking for a small Goomey, you left him behind. He's over here."[break][break]

Hades would look at her in mild surprise, wondering just why Emma was inviting herself to companionship rather than dipping the hell out of there. Granted, no one actually knew who she was except for people from the council. Her name wasn't famously known. Out here, she was a nobody.[break][break]

Faith was losing.. Well, faith.[break][break]

She hoped that Jelly didn't get lost or - arceus forbid - hurt while she was adventuring. The purplette kept trying to search around on the route, with only her rotomdex (dexes?) scouting the path. It wasn't long afterwords where the finds a young woman, approaching from behind. Er.. Less of find, rather, she's surprised and nearly jumped up in fright. A hand clutches over her heart, only to realize that the one who approached her was, in fact, human. Seeing another person out here was reassuring, even though she had her pokemon companions out this late. [break][break]

She looks behind, and behind some more, to find the pair of green eyes from the sliggoo. A small smile curls onto her lips, as she bows to the young woman. "Ah.. Th-Thank you." Thankfully, it was silent. The route had brought upon tranquility with it, with the lack of trainers it seemed to see that day. [break][break]

She takes a glance to the Lycanroc, who appeared somewhat.. uneasy? Sheltered as she may have been, she was sensitive to those around her - too much. Enough for her to feel self conscious, enough for her to worry about messing up. Most times, though, she always brushed it off as herself overthinking the situation.[break][break]

Which, honestly, was usually the case.[break][break]

Her voice is soft, still low as a whisper, while trying to call out her pokemon. She was in no rush-- Until she saw a Salandit, eyes gleaming from the shadows with the intention to land an attack on the Sliggoo breaching her territory. Immediately, she gives the snap of her fingers - which was, surprisingly enough, much louder. The Sliggoo perked up immediately, turning around to see the Salandit. With another snap, the Sliggoo opened up her mouth, spewing out something akin to a MUDDY WATER at the poison type. [break][break]

She had intended to let her Sliggoo come out on her own but.. She was feeling vindictive. The Sliggoo grabs the Salandit by the tail, dragging it out with a low huff and grunt before gesturing to Faith to chuck a pokeball at it. It was clumsily done, but she was able to tap the pokeball on top of the pokemon's head. [break][break]

She turns her attention back to the young woman, free hand rubbing the side of her neck while her other hand reached in her bag to pull out a whiteboard and marker. She begins to scribble on it, quickly, and held it up. 'I'm sorry, did we disturb you?', it read.

Emma can't help but look down upon the girl with some sort of disappointment or disgust. It wasn't adamantly visible or recognizable, but the slight tilt in which she held her head suggested that she nearly pitied the girl.[break][break]

The woman in front of her was timid and soft-spoken, appearing unintimidating and exceptionally weak. It was honestly pitiful to look at. [break][break]

Lycanroc catches Faith's gaze and bristles in warning, his lip lifting to reveal a fang. Emma glances at him briefly, but says nothing to stop him. Instead, she makes a gesture signalling them to leave.[break][break]

Or, she was about to leave up until a Salandit approached the strangers Sligoo and a Ferrothorn began to crawl down from above. The girl seemed aware of the poisonous lizard, even going so far as to catch it.[break][break]

That, in itself, surprised her. She had not expected such a brave act from such a meek and unimportant girl.[break][break]

However, it didn't seem as though she had taken any notice of her imminent end. The Ferrothorn had closed in on its prey, eager to kidnap the girl and likely devour her and her companions.[break][break]

Emma almost walked away out of sheer indifference. She didn't know this girl from Moses, and she had no qualms about acting like she had never met the girl. Hell, it'd probably be easier to just walk away.[break][break]

But that gut feeling in the pit of her belly, and that knowing, soothing voice from freya morningstar whispered at the back of her mind, telling her that she was redeemable. [break][break]

"Hades, rock slide."[break][break]

The beast moves immediately, eyes flashing with a horrible, terrifying red glow. To Faith, it would appear as though she were being attacked. The rock slide would fall down behind her, perhaps even grazing her. [break][break]

As Emma approached, however, she would throw a pokeball at the crushed Ferrothorn.[break][break]

"You need to be more observant and careful. Just because it appears quiet and safe, doesn't mean it is."[break][break]

That one was odd. [break][break]

Beautiful, but odd. [break][break]

She couldn't get over the.. slightly altered complexion that the woman sported. Was it.. Natural? It.. Wasn't painted on, was it? For a person to be purple-- She thought to herself, what in the god's name could have created that abomination? If anything she.. Looked more like an alien? Was that the proper word to describe her (rude, on all accounts, but she just couldn't shake off the odd feeling)? After the capture of the salandit, the ongoing feeling of dread did not fade. There was something else - something that she wasn't prepared for. It was only because of the purple woman that Faith was able to suddenly jerk forwards, only getting dirt on the back of her shirt as she moves hearing the rocks crumble down from above her. [break][break]

But the sound of the rocks would surely attract pokemon. [break][break]

The sliggoo comes on over, holding the pokeball up to the trainer before she plucks it from his hands. She glances at the slime for a little bit before proceeding to wipe it off with paper towel - something she's learned to bring along with her whenever her pokemon touched anything. Faith takes a moment to glance behind her, finding the hybrid pokemon buried under the rubble, unable to move for the time being before the other woman catches it. To her surprise, of course. She didn't think that, in general, she would be saved by an alien. What? Was she going to be abducted, too? Taken to someone's leader--[break][break]

She stops herself from that train of thought before she can laugh. [break][break]

Instead, she gives the other woman a smile in gratitude. "You have my thanks.." She speaks, soft. Not out of shyness or meekness, but because she really couldn't speak any louder. The sliggoo, too, seems to wave and chime with glee. The rotom flickering next to her seemed to spin around with joy-- On the other hand, the second rotom begins to dim out, lowering by the trainer's shoulder to melt into the purple puddy it was. It stares, curiously (ever changing, intensely) at the lycanroc at the other trainer's command. "Uhm.. May I ask why you're out for so late, though?" Faith tilts her head slightly. It's gradual - the anxiety in her tone fades the more time she stands in front of the woman. [break][break]

"And.. Uhm.. You aren't an--"[break][break]

"YOU AREN'T AN ALIEN, RIGHT?" [break][break]

She is interrupted by the louder chime of the rotom dex and, rude as it was, she didn't exactly.. Retract the pokemon's question.

Emma continues to regard her as nothing more than an irritating child. [break][break]

"Sure."[break][break]

Lycanroc pulls himself from the rubble, shaking debris from his fur before returning to Emma's side. The heat in his eyes is long gone, but he continues to watch Faith and her Pokemon with a certain amount of distrust.[break][break]

He especially startles at the Rotom that dissolves into putty, a literal glob of goop in the woman's hands. His ears pull backwards and he huffs, clearly unsure what to make of the situation.[break][break]

Emma barely gives a damn, because her attention has come to the heavy pants of an oncoming attacker. Something has darted behind her leg, grasping it firmly. Lycanroc salivates at the prospect of eating said being, up until he catches wind of the husky breath of whatever else is coming.[break][break]

The howl that trembles from his vocals is intense and terrifying, but so is the responding snarl. Skidding to a halt is a Houndoom, eyes wild with the hunt.[break][break]

For whatever reason, it's a vegetarian tonight as it looks between Emma's legs to locate the Budew it had been chasing.[break][break]

Emma has completely missed the girl's question. The annoying ding of her Rotomdex is irrelevant to her. Faith and Emma stand in the way of a hungry wild Pokemon, and she still wasn't convinced this soft spoken young woman was much of a battler.[break][break]

"You're not very observant, are you? And far too trusting, it seems."[break][break]

She doesn't look at Faith even though she's addressing her. Lycanroc lunges, putting himself between Emma and the Houndoom, saliva dripping into the grass as he prepares to take down the beast.[break][break]

"I'm hunting. You ask questions like a small child would. It's annoying."[break][break]

Hades lunges, grabbing the Houndoom's throat with his teeth and wrestling it to the ground. It's yelps and whines grow more panicked as the Lycanroc continues to bite down. Emma doesn't stop him, and instead reaches down to scoop up the tiny Budew that had chosen her as it's protector.[break][break]

After a moment of observing it and looking quite uninterested in the thing, she continues to hold it as if claiming it.[break][break]

Trusting, because she was helped. Anyone willing to step from the shadows and lend a helping hand was a friend of hers, she thought. [break][break]

But she couldn't agree. She couldn't agree to the brute force that the woman exhibits. She couldn't agree with how ruthless she was. Faith grimaces slightly, clutching her teeth together as she listens to the words being spoken to her. 'Annoying', she is called. 'Childish, trusting, unobservant', she hears. Faith stares - nay, she even glares - the slightest bit under the bangs shielding her eyes. Her hand balls up into a fist. The woman can only stay quiet, listening. Listening, listening - until the sound of a howl had registered in that slow head of hers. She turns her attention to the canine pokemon, growling in its hunger and desire to hunt. It was in pain, she could see. It wasn't malicious, no. It was only hungry - hunting for food. Ater all, she had never met a pokemon that was, inherently, evil for any reason. [break][break]

The earlier display however, does not help her case. [break][break]

But something in her knows (how useless she is, how naive she can be), as she clutches the new addition to her team in her hand. She says nothing to defend herself, letting the sot click of her tongue against the roof of her mouth speak all the words (the irritation, the offence and disappointment pent up in the small body of hers). "Jelly." She glances back to the Sliggoo, only snapping her fingers abruptly (something in her switched; almost awoke from the patient and quiet farce she unintentionally displayed). The snail pokemon perks up from below, and she gives another snap towards the two dog pokemon. The only command her pokemon needed to know: "Stop her."[break][break]

The pokemon obeys. Another, strong spout and rush of brownish water spews from his mouth, aimed straight for the two dog pokemon who seemed to be battling it out. A researcher, she was. A woman who did very little battling and, likewise, a woman who had little knowledge of combat. But at the same time, she knew that it would be inevitable. To some degree, of course. hence, rather than making too many mistakes, trying to assert herself, it was best to command the outcome, and give her pokemon the choice to pick it. The result of this action? Her Sliggoo chose to attack both pokemon. [break][break]

Was she remorseful? Yes, she was. She could feel the guilt, weighing down on her shoulders in the event that the lycanroc was harmed. Yet at the same time, she felt little sympathy for the trainer who had her canine pokemon sic on the other, with a near murderous intent hadn't she known any better. "I'm not a child." quiet, again, but firm in her statement. The moment, after the muddy water, she snapped her fingers - but only once. In response, the sliggoo began to conjure an orb of draconian energy, then releases a DRAGON PULSE at the houndoom. She had little regard for the other woman's pokemon. [break][break]

After all. Someone who spoke so highly, like she would be an eyesore, should be capable of defending or avoiding it herself. [break][break]

She would think, hence why felt no sympathy. The houndoom is hit and, using this moment to her advantage, she pulls out a spare pokeball on her person and tosses it at the houndoom.

The Houndoom has started to stop struggling, the choke hold Hades' has on its neck proving too difficult to shake. Hades is about to let go and allow the dog to fall to the ground in defeat when he's suddenly sprayed across the face with muddy water. He snarls in confusion, whirling away and snorting mud from out of his nose.[break][break]

Emma also turns, seething with irritation.[break][break]

"What the fuck are you trying to prove, child? 'Stop her', you say. Stop me from what, stop me from letting the Houndoom rip you apart to get to the Budew? Sure, next time I'll let you get eaten."[break][break]

Her brows furrow as she glares back at the proud little peach glaring at her. The girl has a lot of guts, but no street smarts to back it up.[break][break]

Hades returns to Emma, a paw brushing over the top of his head to get rid of more of the dirt.[break][break]

"You're certainly acting like a child, reacting with your feelings rather than your intelligence. If Lycanroc hadn't intervened, you'd be the Houndoom's next snack."[break][break]

The Budew burrows itself deeper into Emma's elbow and ribs, still trembling with terror. [break][break]

In the confusion, and just after Faith captures the defeated Houndoom, Emma turns to see a Mareanie and Spritzee approach.[break][break]

"You want to prove to me you're not a child? Defeat both of those wild Pokemon in battle."[break][break]
