Of course he wouldn't. He'd only ever known the creature to intervene on one occasion, though the fixation with these strange trees remained a constant. Adrian felt there was something to this, but he could glean no more from this place, and so they made their egress. As the conflict they were putting behind them began to fade, so too did the vision of this place, before they arrived at their next desination and vista.[break][break]

Adrian manages to catch a glimpse of the XATU presiding over the cliff, its eyes undaunted by the harshness of sunlight. Himself forced to veil his eyes beneath the shadow of his hand, he does not expect the creature to respond to their presence.[break][break]

"This seems much more... tame." Adrian seemed surprised, perhaps even disappointed with it.[break][break]

Though the Xatu seemed disinterested in their arrival, its eerie gaze seems to adjust; stygian pools of black make subtle adjustments, and just then its focus adjusts to encompass them both—projecting the knowledge of days past and present. Although their minds can only hope to capture snippets, a small glimpse of the accumulated knowledge of the clairvoyant, this may be invaluable.

While Adrian Malcolm reacts with calm and even a little disappointment, Cillian is quick to take a step back as the warmth of Akala's cliffside greets him once again. Though his mask of composure remains, a brief glimpse of the whites of his eyes might betray him.[break][break]

He has been here before, and he is afraid.[break][break]

Plunged into the icy grips of a memory, Cillian doesn't see what he expects. Rocket, his childhood, or any of the many tragedies he's lived through. Arguably, the vision he gets is much worse.[break][break]

Perhaps influenced by the presence of Adrian, his memory is of a warm afternoon serving orders in a cat-run café. The faces of jayden cross, Serena Malcolm, and Rowan Wrynn... before the latter had betrayed him and Serena had perished in Katherine's claws.[break][break]

Fear has turned to grief by the time the vision fades, the underboss blinking rapidly as the winds whirl around him.[break][break]
