Willow had come to appreciate the part he played in Adrian's life. The sole watcher of this humble grass patch, it would be visited by all manner of curious critters that loved to crawl about its hollowed trunk, and sip its sap. But Trevenant tended after the berries that Adrian left, much as Adrian had tended to it ever since they'd met in the Safari. He'd found peace in this role of his.
And so it was that Trevenant had been charged with this task, knowing it was a matter of some import the way Adrian had spoken of it, fretting over the berries day in and day out.
And what he feared had come in the form of a Kingler seeking to despoil Adrian's garden patch.
A hand of greeting was raised to his company, but the Trevenant was ignored as the Kingler trampled over the tilled earth without conscience. Trevenant could feel its hallowed trunk bristling with agitation, a lone eye watching in astonishment as its gnarled pincer reached towards the most precious of berries... Willow would not abide it.
The sound of lumber groaning in the otherwise tranquil night broke out, as the Trevenant began to shift over the earth towards the Kingler with a sinister purpose. Alabaster roots reach up from the earth with a sickly green glow, entrapping the Kingler in a snare of its tendrils. Its horned roots begin to leech from the crab, which lashes out in alarm, clubbing Willow with a stray Crabhammer. But it was futile, the Kingler's pursuit amounted to its folly as Willow drained it of every last ounce...
With its duty fulfilled Willow buried the carcass where it could serve a new purpose granting nourishment to the berries it had tried to snatch in an ironic twist of fate. And Willow was able to resume his vigil, finding contentment as the new dawn rose with the red sun. All in all, it was just another day on the plot. It could be a cruel world.
And yet from where Willow watched, this world of theirs radiated beauty in abundance. Opportunity.

THE BUIZEL FINDS joy in coming to land. a sea-based diet is nice, but this buizel has found its ability to slice seaweed with its tail helpful for severing branches filled with berries to eat. hopefully it doesn't strip your entire plot![break][break]
Willow basked in the arid evening sun with nary a disruption, its vibrant red leaves fanning out over branches of pallid ivory as it stood dormant over its patch. It had been charged with its protection for quite some time without incident, and had grown fond of these peaceful, tranquil moments.
And then all at once this evening was ruined as the ruddy silhouette of an intruder slithered its way towards the patch, Willow's deep-rooted tendrils feelings the soil shuddering beneath the weight of this diminutive yet loathsome creature come to plunder its hoard. The soil began to stir all around, startling the creeping, sneaking Buizel...
A swath of roots did emerge, grasping at the Buizel in a tangle of vines as its growth allowed it to overwhelm the pokemon with the sheer scale of its branches. Resist as it might, Willow was able to find purchase against its form, dragging it against the earth and leeching its life for its own, barbed growths the conduit of its horn leech's effect.
More than aware of the danger now, the Buizel began to struggle against the confines of this flora gaol, sharpening the razor wind to lacerate Willow's binding growths and jetting away in a burst of aquatic propulsion. Willow remained.
A lone purple orb did now shoot open, its resting eye now alert, leering at the trespasser intensely. The earth trembled as its roots dug through the underground, creating a labyrinth as the Buizel yet eyed its prize, wary of the garden's protector.
THE MUCUS IS TOO MUCH. in order to best control the volume of snot, the cubchoo sucks the mucus in before expelling it as icy winds. these frosty breezes begin to chill your growing berry trees...[break][break]
Soaking up the moonlight in the privacy of its berry patch, vileplume whiled away the night in relative peace. That was until a sudden chill crept over the moist earth, freezing over the forming morning dew and startling Vileplume awake with the sudden drop in temperature. It was currently summer...
Vileplume lifted its lilting petals, beady red eyes scanning over the landscape until it spotted a drooling (or otherwise leaking) cubchoo ogling at all the goods; something vileplume couldn't abide.
And so it was it tapped into its latent nature, finding advantage in the grassy terrain as well as it should in a garden, preparing to fend off the unsavory invader. A chill ran through the air, and icy wind struck at vileplume, seemingly by the ursine pokemon's design. And yet it seemed fixated on those berries, reaching an undeserving paw towards the fruits of vileplume's labors.
Vileplume seemed to will that outcome away as a blast of moonlight caught the critter unawares. Vileplume made steady progress rejuvenating from the blighted rime of its wounds in its home field, replenishing its energy before attacking once more, barraging the pokemon into a hasty retreat.
And then Vileplume took a much deserved nap.Defending the garden.
WITH ITS KEEN EYES, the rookidee soars ahead. from the sky, it sees your beautiful garden plot. as its mask-like feathers smooth back during its descent, the bird seems poised to PLUCK your hard work away.[break][break]
Vileplume lazed upon the tilled earth of Adrian's garden patch, basking in the strong sunlight. The only sound was that of the blades of grass drifting in the breeze, the rustling of the tree branches and the... shrill chirp of a... a bird somewhere nearby.
Considering the treasures it guarded, that was cause for concern. Beady red slits peeled open just enough for Vileplume to inspect the skies surrounding them, seeing nothing but the blue sky littered with clouds of cotton. The rattling green trees... and resting upon a branch overlooking them, a Rookidee fixated on a Rowap berry.
Oh no you don't! Vileplume prepared a noxious concoction of spores, compacting them before firing them like a mortar for the Rookidee.
It just so happened that Adrian was visiting that day to assess his nearly-ripened berries, approaching the area when he saw a bomb-like mass of pollen careening through the air. At least I left it in good hands... I think. His pace quickened.
On the scene Vileplume quickly paraded its laurels, gloating in Adrian's presence, expecting ample reward (which it most certainly received in the form of poffins he'd grabbed in Slateport.) But still he felt guilty about the wild pokemon, and began searching for where it must've been, knowing a Vileplume's spores could be downright debilitating.
When he finally came across it, he recognized it at once, and counted his blessings before brandishing a pokeball and capturing the Rookidee.Capturing Rookide if that's cool. "POISON-TYPE GIF".

ALTHOUGH, Tropius have their own fruit around their neck, this particular Pokemon desires your berries. Able to hover to graze or simply extend its long neck, the Tropius attempts to steal your harvest. After all, sometimes food just tastes better when you're not the one who made it.[break][break]
Vileplume had been napping nearby when the Tropius descended, but the sound of rushing wind under flapping wings and the rustle of leaves alerted it to the intruder, but only just in time to watch it reach out for a berry. Noooooooooo!
As Tropius' neck craned forward, Vileplume expelled a sudden puff of spores, perhaps as a fear response. The Tropius, startled by what might be considered Vileplume's sneezing, froze at the abrupt movement and halted in its trespass...
And then promptly fell over, rigid with pore-induced paralysis. Vileplume could rest easy...
Later, Adrian would visit the berry patch, only to find the fallen creature and think back the the Flight of the Former Champion at the Mauville Warfront. It inspires him enough to capture it.Capturing Tropius! (Pokeball 1 of 3?)
