This wasn't how she wanted to spend her afternoon. Mattrin the riolu was trying to calm down the angry archen in her arms, uttering soothing cries in an attempt to assuage the aggressive fossil pokemon, while her final pokemon, Bane the noibat, sat up in the branches of the tree, watching coolly as the chaotic scene unfolded. This was how things always seemed to go when Duck and Amarok were allowed near each other. She was pretty certain at this point there were death threats exchanged before the archen always seemed to lose his short temper. Ugh. "You'd think you two would have learned to get along by now," Gwen sighed, shifting her grip on Amarok. He coughed out a rebuttal, but seemed to be calming down in her arms finally. She sucked in a breath and held it for a heartbeat before exhaling, loosening her grip. "You've really got to work on that temper. We're a team, remember?" she asked, looking at the archen fondly, who turned to glance at her, falling silent as he appeared to think over her words. Mattrin seemed to relax too, before Duck peeked his head out from behind the tree, eyes wide. He muttered a few sounds, eliciting a response from Amarok. Everyone fell quiet for a moment before Duck replied. Obviously it wasn't something nice, because in an instant the archen was worked up into a fury once again, Gwen's grip tightening once more. She groaned in frustration, feeling defeated once again.
