They had heard as of late that there were feebas aplenty within the safari zone lately. amid everything going on, they hadn’t had the moment to steal away. now, though, they wandered the areas familiar paths, knowing that it would take them down to small lake. And there, they hoped to find the particular creature of their interest, unsightly as most found them.

The yellow eyes of a treecko peer at them, but this is not the creature that Fern is there to seek out. They eye it back, as if in subtle warning, then carry on down toward the lake.

[attr="class","body"] unlike the treecko, the torchic they find on the way to their destination stumbles directly into their path. Rather than scamper away when Fern shoos it, it cheeps and follows after them. Much like a ducklett with its mother swanna. With a sigh, they turn back and stoop down. It flutters its wings at them. “Noisy little thing, you are. You’ll scare away all the fish.” The fish out one of their prized safari balls and tap it against the torchic’s noggin to quiet it.

Eager, they stand by the edge, wishing that they had stopped to purchase a fishing pole along the way for better odds. They’ll just have to wing it (clearly THEO BECKETT’s efforts to teach them the art of fishing has gone awry.) Though, confidently, they think it must be their lucky day because soon enough, they see the dorsal fin of a feebas poking out of the water. See? Easy peasy.[break][break]
They don’t risk stirring the waters and instead carefully aim a pokeball to catch it by surprise. Clearly, their luck is not real because once the ball leaves their fingertips, it is a mudkip that pops out of the shallows to be consumed by the light of the open safari ball.

The effort stirs one up, and it leaps from the water, purple scales glistening as the dragon type knocks it with a pulse of brine so that Fern can catch it more easily.
