The redhead doesn't see it coming, but Pet Shop does. As soon as Pet Shop realized what was going on, she attempts the fastest drop she could, almost throwing Genny from her saddle, as she gets a moment to look at her foe, flourishing in the air with a pierrot, a barrel roll, and a means to caw angrily.[break][break]

Genny saw the Rocket now, face-to-face, the Charizard ahead of her, and looks to Pet Shop who took a good portion of that strike, despite her dodge. Her breathing was heavier now.[break][break]

"You don't belong in the sky!" She holds her Ranger badge out, brow furrowing as she calls back. "I may not have authority to take you in, but I have authority to take you down! Senior Ranger Cromwell. Remember the name!"[break][break]

One day, she hoped it would be a name Rocket fears.[break][break]

"Give it back to him!" With a clap of wings, a TWISTER funnels outwards, coming after the Charizard and the Mad Dog of Rocket.

They always laughed...[break][break]

It was getting worse. Genny's self-esteem was getting bombarded constantly. First were those Rockets on the sea, then the Rockets in the air. She wasn't going to just be pushed around.[break][break]

"Better men and women aren't me." She was different, she says. Boasting with determination, as the twister gets its licks in, only for the duo to work on the trajectory of the twister to fire off literal fire. Pet Shop wasn't going to dodge it, but... it was a gamble.[break][break]

She spins to the side, Genny taken by surprise. Her belly is scorched, sure, but as Genny falls from the Pidgeot, plummeting through the sky in fear, the Pidgeot cawing in pain, but quickly diving downwards with an AERIAL ACE through the Charizard and Rocket before racing to give chase.[break][break]

Pet Shop took a full on FLAMETHROWER for Genny. The burn was insufferably painful.[break][break]

But she was made of tougher stuff, as she nose dives faster and faster, one of the fastest birds to do it.

Genny is free falling. Pet Shop dives faster and faster, the bird's eyes with panic the faster she falls. Only for there to be an AIR SLASH in her future. Pet Shop can't take more than this, and the oversized bird has to make a decision.[break][break]

Let her fall. Or take the attack.[break][break]

That decision was an immediate one, and the Pidgeot can feel the slash of air and wind cut into her, one massive cut now on her face cleaving upwards at a diagonal, a singular eye force closed. A scar she'd always have. But.[break][break]

Genny was now safely on her back again. A dangerous move that pumps adrenaline harder. Pet Shop isn't doing great, and she can tell another one of those won't be good for her.[break][break]

Grabbing on tight...[break][break]

"Agility! Can't hit what he can't see!" Pet Shop speeds up, going faster and increasing her speed to keep him guessing, zig-zagging, despite the Trainer on top.

The good news is that they both had a turn to get themselves a break. The SMOKESCREEN makes it hard for Genny to see, but not Pet Shop. Pet Shop, on the other hand, is flying, up and down, round and round. The Rocket is correct in surmising her attack strategy. Hit and run works best.[break][break]

Unfortunately, without being able to see, Genny doesn't have the foresight or skill to realize that she is leaving a trail. The easiest trail of all for the Rocket to follow.[break][break]

"Make sure to hit!" With an AERIAL ACE, the Pidgeot would fly to hit the Charizard.[break][break]

Unbeknownst to either of them, that was the easiest telegraphed by the exhausted flight of the Pidgeot, and the inability to see it coming from Genny. And that would be costly to both.

The DRAGON PULSE comes so suddenly, it completely throws Genny for a loop. Was this Rocket crazy? That was going to kill them both! She braces for impact, as Pet Shop makes the hit, but the pulse sends her, and Genny, spiraling through the air, zooming through, and forced to make a harrowing crash-landing at high speeds.[break][break]

Zooming through tree after tree, Genny takes the reins best she can, making sure they are not a splattered corpse on some tree, as they pass through the forest. The deftness, the branches, the cuts from the bark all towards her face, all while trying to slow down Pet Shop. And it's about to work. She's slowed down about 2/3rds... and then they both collide into the tree.[break][break]

Breaking clean through the whole tree, a forced stop as the Pidgeot and the girl atop collapse and rolls into the dirt as the tree falls over nearly atop of both of them, both throwing the dirt up, as they land together in a heap.[break][break]

Alive.[break][break]

With a deep sigh of relief, Genny crawls towards Pet Shop slowly, certain that her leg got the most of the damage, and holds towards her head.[break][break]

"We've got to work on your landing strategy, Pet Shop." she laughs...[break][break]

Not knowing that next time they would fly... would be their last together.
