[attr="class","textbox"]Night terrors. Eris writhed around in her sleep, so desperate for any sort of companionship that she even clung onto her captors for dear life. Did she know they loathed her, just for existing? Did she know they were going to hurt her, just to squeeze more suffering out from a dying man?[break][break]

Did that even stop her the last time?[break][break]

Still, Isaac wasn't about to just snatch her away while she was in a state like this. Instead, with each step he took, colors continued to swirl around him. They rose from his body like peals of smoke, breaking into shimmering crystals that floated off into the sky. As they flowed, they started to gather together, the light of the aurora reflecting off of their facets.[break][break]

By the time Isaac reached Eris, they were being bathed in the aurora's light. Isaac's knees wavered slightly from the exertion of such a task, but he refused to let himself fall. He couldn't rest until Eris was finally safe, and having her in his arms would only be the first step. His hands trembled ever so slightly as he took Eris off of her captor's hands, softly tucking her into his arms.[break][break]

"There you are, sis," he said, voice gentle and eyes soft. Once she was properly balanced in his arms, he leaned down, giving her a tiny kiss on the forehead. "You had us scared half to death, y'know. But you're here now, and I'm not gonna let anyone hurt you anymore, okay?"[break][break]

"C'mon. Let's get you home."

[attr="class","inner-finally"]Isaac is never alone. As he taps upon his own powers, something begins to resonate, hues of pink very gently intertwining with his aura and propping him up. For their young ward, and for the one that bravely acts in her stead.[break][break]

The pairs of eyes that watch him are witnesses to just how gently he holds onto her - A child ensnared in her darkest nightmares whilst he wishes nothing but safety and warmth for her perilous journey. Just like how he holds her close, she too leans into him, her eyes all the while closed as she quietly sucks a breath through her teeth.[break][break]

Danger may surround them but he'll do his best to keep it all at bay, if only to keep her blissfully oblivious to just how scary this world is. Shielding whatever little of her innocence she has left, he'll keep his promise to her time and time again. Tremors fade, whimpers hushed and eyelids no longer knitted tight. When the morning breaks, this will all have been nothing but a passing nightmare.[break][break]

With him, she is safe.[break][break]

And with him, no one will move to stop them as they return home.
