Grouping together into one, Kouji knew this was never going to be easy with a gym leader, catching them on their way down. They were a person of the sky, so Kouji had to make that difficult, or die trying.

”You’re gonna have to come down, because it ain’t going to go easy.” He said as he leapt down from where he stood, a mask covering the lower half of his face. Gathering information on the gym leaders, that was his motive. His golden eyes stared at Alexei.

For starters, today was one of those off days when he didn’t have any challengers scheduled for the day—in fact he was on the back of his blue-plumed Braviary, Kyouya, just relaxing up in the sky when suddenly—

The avian Pokémon let out a surprised screeching noise the moment he caught sight of something that had very nearly gouged his eyes out; which made him look around—on high alert.

The direction of the voice was from somewhere down on the ground, and with an imperceptible gesture, the dual-type then came soaring down; once he was low enough, he then leapt off the Braviary’s back before he looked over at the person who’d tried to attack him.

Oh, shit, was this what Tempest Quinn had meant about Rocket trying to extend their reach?

“You know, trying to knock someone out of the sky is piss-poor manners, not mention a bad way to introduce yourself,” he began as he straightened up.

“Is there something you want from me?”

”There’s always something thats piss poor manners.” Kouji said with a shrug, he looked over his shoulder at the large forest behind him, and then back at Alexei. Though he had a clear objective here.

”Just here to kick your ass, you’re a gym leader right?” It was a question that didn’t need an answer, Kouji wouldn’t be here if the answer was no. ”Got a cake to eat, so let’s make it fast. Two on Two, I won’t take ya life either way so don’t fret.” But if he was in trouble, then he’d have to find a way to hightail it out of there.

”Samurott, get out here as well.” He said as he brought his second pokemon out, it was a ‘jumping’ in the most literal sense, but Kouji wanted to test his abilities too, and his purpose was to test those of the leagues.

He was on high alert, all things considered, because for one thing—he didn’t have any challengers scheduled for today. So this was an attack, albeit one that would appear to be an ‘official’ challenge.

“Alright, I’ll take your offer on that,” he continued quietly as he pulled out the bird whistle and blew a singular note on it, before waiting.

His Braviary had already landed on the ground—but was eyeing their opponent suspiciously in case they decided to jump the gun and pull out some sneaky tricks on them before his partner in crime arrived—a Salamence, who would eventually roar at the two Pokémon across the open-air arena.

“Doubles it is, then,” he would confirm, before the Braviary took off to join the Salamence in mid-air.

“You get the first move, of course, as you’re issuing the challenge,” he would add a few moments later as two of his best Pokémon were at the ready; to defend him from…whatever this was.

Braviary & Salamence are out on the field!
