[attr="class","cam"]Camellia descended down the chasm, sunlight fading as apparent nothingness appeared. The severed crack in the earth now held many treasures that she was interested in finding.

And it seemed she was not the only one.

Plaisantin gracefully landed at her side, with a bow as if she had just performed. Tera shards and crystals sparkled around them, grouped in jagged and colorful formations while reflecting brilliantly blinding light. It seemed impossible that this place was so dangeous.

"Stick close. Gather what you can."

it was imperative for a thorough investigation of the latest major event's site right after it happened, especially for a person as inquisitive as kyle.

he goes on his free time, accompanied by a pokemon who saw copies of itself during the attack. curiosity fuels the trip despite the dangers, knowing that the experience gets ruined the longer that the area remains open for the public.

"oh."

kyle spots one of such people who would explore any new area of the region. he can't blame them since he was one of those.

"are you here to look for stragglers too?"

the paradox pokemon that came out during the attack was different from the ones they usually see. it wasn't surprising if other people wanted to catch more.

[attr="class","cam"]A voice caught her off guard, given the distracting noises. Typically, she was better off at hearing if there were people nearby, but with the amount of trainers or other types of scientists and individuals inspecting the chasm, it had become harder to discern who was nearby.

"You could say that."

Camellia regarded him for a moment, contemplating if this individual meant danger or not.

"The tera shards are particularly interesting as well."

it shouldn't be surprising that tera shards would be an object of someone's attention.

"i feel you. the big ones do have a tendency to make things problematic."

a red flag.

the smaller shards, on the other hand, don't seem to be that dangerous. he supposed it depends on the concentration in the area, with bigger clusters such as the one here in the chasm being more reactive to people's presence.

"well, let me know if there's trouble, alright?"

around these parts, he supposed it was always nice to introduce himself to every person he comes across even if he doesn't plan on sticking long, especially since illusions weren't unheard of. he'd rather not be confused as one.

She rolled her eyes, turning back to Plaisantin, until there was a cracking sound. Her head whipped toward the tera crystal, spotting it splitting apart. And then from the cracks...

"Is... that-?" Fire.

a screech echoes through the walls of the chasm.

kyle turns to see her looming over a crystal, which conjures a pokemon ever so familiar to him, having been friends with its avatar a long time ago until the drk triad ended the relationship.

still, it wasn't the same being.

he stands on his spot, contemplating on his next action. he already had stepped away, and it would be awkward to say hi again after they made their informal goodbyes.

given her sarcastic response to him earlier, he continues walking away. hoenn was full of strong trainers, and when someone says they probably won't need his help, they probably mean it.

[attr="class","cam"]Shards of the tera crystal fell onto the ground, shattered by the immense power that these illusionary bird created. It certainly wasn't the true MOLTRES, bird of legend and fire. Camellia had learned quickly that the chasm played many tricks to the mind's eye.

This certainly had to be one of them.

However, the inferno of heat it emitted felt real enough. The assassin pulled back her grass-type, who was certain to burn to a crisp, and released her CARVANHA as she took off.

Toward kyle lopez, of course. If Camellia was going to die, she wasn't going to die alone.

he turns. he sees her coming in close, bringing in an illusion from the crystal along with her to his direction.

his expression quickly shifts from indifference to worry.

"sh-shit."

kyle looks at terrakion, who immediately takes action. when kyle recognizes a stance from the pokemon that indicates willingness to fight it directly, he is quick to shift the pokemon's directives.

"we can't fight that! we're running away!"

the terrakion then shifts the direction of the stone edge it prepared. stomping on the ground, rocks jut out from the sides of the canyon, providing a roof that blocks the view of the bird from the sky.

kyle motions with his head to run.
