Fernando is not one to be denied. He refuses to take no for an answer. Another venture into the wildness will end with another venture gained.

His time around Meteor Falls has made him accustomed to the territory. The meager cliff-side of Route 114 crumbles underneath his boots and he feels his heel dig into the incline. A single Pokeball rests within his hand, held between sweaty fingers as he looks toward the peak. Nothing sticks out and he refrains from keeping a Pokemon out. Not until necessary. Best to carry light when hiking. His newfound powers keep him safe enough he can refrain from having one on him. Call it overconfidence.

It'll be his undoing.

[attr="class","spiral"] The rugged crags of the mountain pale in comparison to the razor sheen of the Pawniward's honed cartilage. Fernando keeps his distance, kneeling to roll out a Pokeball in front of him. The saying goes that there is no winners in a knife fight and Fernando resorts to something that steel can't pierce. His Mawile bursts out, chomping its overarching jaws in an INTIMIDATING fashion. The Pawniward responds with a SCARY FACE of its own and the ensuing battle ends in a clash of steel joints and teeth.

Surprisingly, a SUCKER PUNCH when the Pokemon least expects it knocks it out of commission. Fernando continues the hike, one more Pokemon under his belt.
