kyle has managed to successfully seduce the admin of the site so that they'll bring his most awaited pokemon to the safari. this was going all according to plan, but that was simply the first step.

what comes next is the hard part, which is grinding his ass to get as much pokemon as he can before the time limit runs out.

he comes prepared with a bunch of safari balls strapped around his person. multiple tickets were held in between his fingers. despite the cold, he goes in dressed lightly. weighing himself too much would make the run not as efficient as it will be when he's not dragging his weight around.

as soon as he gets into the enclosure, he sprints for the first dog he sees.

he runs a finger along the myriad of pokeballs on his belt, releasing a pokemon to help him deal with the undesirables. he spares the wild pokemon that noticed them a single glance and then continues moving deeper into the safari.

"echo, deal with it!"

the mightyena appears, confused, before he sees the bouffalant. ears perk up as he recognizes what was needed of him. he inhales, before releasing a threatening sound that scares even the fierce normal-type away.

as soon as it runs away, the mightyena quickly turns around to join his trainer.

it was one of the pokemon from galar that he is still kinda learning about, shiny on top of that, but it's not enough to catch the attention of kyle. he gives it not a glance, finding its presence as non-threatening, and continues his run.

from the corner of his eyes, he sees his mightyena taking interest in it. just as it was about to stalk his way to its direction, kyle growls and barks at his pokemon. it scares him, finding the behavior uncharacteristic of his trainer.

kyle slows down to a slow jog as he searches for a dog.

his mightyena barks. kyle ignores it at first, given that it's his noisy dog out of the ball right now, but repeated noises eventually get him to stop on his tracks and see what his pokemon spotted.

"yawn!"

the command comes in quick and clean as soon as he lays his eyes on the shiny riolu. the mightyena takes action immediately, letting a yawn out from his maw.

the riolu gets infected by the contagious display of drowsiness. it rubs its eyes with its paw and starts to run away from them. its movements start fast, but the effects of his mightyena's move quickly start to show.

"follow him," he tells his mightyena.

kyle moves before his pokemon, though echo manages to outpace him eventually. from a distance, they see him eventually slow down and then slump to the ground. kyle and his mightyena slow down once they see its display of tiredness, ending their chase.

kyle celebrates by throwing a pokeball at it.

his mightyena fetches the pokeball containing the riolu like a yamper using it's 'ability'. it would be niche in the games, but kyle wasn't really sure what makes it a special ability in real life.

he shrugs his thoughts away and tries to focus on the real objective. wiping the slobber from the pokeball, he proceeds to give his mightyena a good four to five seconds of petting before he moves on.

this was only the first dog out of the multiple ones he aims to have by the end of the day.

"use your, like, insubordination powers!"

kyle barks things at his mightyena as they chase down a poochyena that appeared shortly after they secured the riolu. both of them chase down the obviously rattled puppy, with his mightyena gaining enough speed to catch up.

the command defaults to a hyper voice. a blast of sound comes from the mightyena, blowing the poocheyna away from the sheer force the move has. the smaller dark-type flies up in the air, ears still ringing from the attack, as his paws flounder around up in the skies.

kyle puts down the breaks forcefully, skidding along the ground as he plants his feet firm. he uses the kickback from the inertia to power up his pitch, throwing a pokeball at the flying poochyena like a baseball.

"dog!"

kyle immediately recognizes the distinct singed fur smell of the growlithe. he whips his head to its direction, alongside his mightyena, where they both eye the growlithe, who, in turn, stares back at them.

both parties go to a standoff. the two of them remain unmoving, until kyle's finger twitches with excitement. the growlithe senses it and readies itself to run, and kyle sees the minor movements of the canine. quickly, he turns to his mightyena and barks a command.

"take him down! shadow ball!"

the growlithe turns tail and immediately runs off. a sphere of energy forms from the mightyena's mouth before it is launched at the fleeing canine. the growlithe is unable to gain distance and is immeditately taken down by the move.

a cloud of dust forms as it makes an impact, and kyle throws a pokeball at the silhouette behind the smokescreen.
