still, it's a delicious truth. tastes of mt. chimney soot and petrichor.

"don't know. guess you could say it's both all me and both all tradition." elijah says. "i'm the culmination of everything my old pop and ma did."

he crosses his arms, weaving their trunks into each other like the tangrowth's vines.

"your family proud of you then? for movin' away from that life?"

he wonders for him. for himself.

he snorts.

"i'm honoring it." a beat. "y'know, farming's not all that bad."

but elijah came here out of his own stubbornness to prove bryan delarosa wrong. he won't hide anymore—despite his learned helplessness for battling. after all, the apothecary finds himself back toward the primal point in an aimless circle of battles.[break][break]

as a POIPOLE joins him, he commands his ELDEGOSS. elijah casts a hand toward the stiff, stone pillars of MATIAS SILPH's and GROUDON's creation.[break][break]

INGRAINED, the tangrowth is unable to loosen itself from the earth in time. the FLAMETHROWER catches across one of its vines.[break][break]

as primal rocks rise around the mop-like grass-type, it trains a stare at the shelgon. however, the tangrowth topples backward. knocked out. the vines shrivel and withdraw back into its body.[break][break]

as a large tree falls, elijah is quick to recall his tangrowth.[break][break]

wordlessly, he leaves, unwilling to grant the others more time to pursue him.

a red bolt nabs it from further harm. his galarian slowking is returned too. from the shroud, the apothecary shouts to kaida. he wonders if the other is robotic, too tense or unaware of the self on a battlefield of philosophies.[break][break]

"your protection is misplaced!" elijah says. "like i said, fighting a lowly grunt like me won't protect your family from the meteoroid. i've just wasted your time, bozos."[break][break]

the man flees, wisps of smoke trailing behind.

his tangrowth raises its arms, still tethered to the ground. orbs of sapping energy emerge and hover toward the metagross before swerving toward the WEAVILE instead.
