the tangrowth's INGRAIN makes it exceptionally difficult to lift. two more vines lash out, thicker and dense. a POWER WHIP strikes toward the metagross, hoping to spike the steel-type down before ensnaring it further.

however, the GRASSY TERRAIN grants it healing. this close, the tangrowth wraps its VINES AROUND THE METAGROSS to attempt to hold it in place.[break][break]

elijah's gothitelle shouts, hands stretched out for a TELEKINESIS to attempt to stop the weavile mid-leap.[break][break]

"you say i've committed atrocities? i've heard of you, phantom." elijah glares at andraste, accusing her as complicit. as accomplice. "how about you?!"

the apothecary wrinkles his nose. he heaves himself toward a mini fridge beneath his counter. from it, he pulls out a jug of lemon water, its body a victreebel. the lid, its hovering leaf.

as he pours a glass for klaus, elijah asks, "ever get tired of it all? the running and hiding?"

like Alexandra Briarwood, elijah makes use of his steed. though less dignified than a spectrier, his more modest mount—a gogoat chewing some last minute littleroot grass—bleats its own determined warcry.[break][break]

he cranes over to Cade Atreides; a man he has never met before within rocket's ranks. but there is little doubt in his mind that he is a part of the syndicate. he offers small-talk. a rare offering:[break][break]

elijah rams his thumb onto the screen of his outdated cellphone, pushing a notification aside. advance notice of KLAUS CARTIER's arrival.

refuge needed. away from slateport sun rays and camera flashes.

sighing, he beckons for his tangrowth and moves to a wooden beam. there he flips a dangling sign to "closed".

as the international idol approaches, elijah greets him with a flat expression. the vines of his tangrowth expand behind him, stretching to fill the gaps between plant, medicine, and stall supports to form a woven basket of concealment.

it does not close quite yet, but once klaus enters, the tangrowth falls into a heavy seat. sunlight sneaks in through carefully placed slits in its vines.

"hello mr. popular." elijah says. "what brings you here today? shelter from rabid fans or lemon water you could make at home?"

"gathering. harvesting. tending to the courtyard garden." elijah says. he cocks an eyebrow, the hairs shifting into a curious hook. "taking care of the eternal floette."

he speaks of the immortal flower. the one used to help semi-purify shadow lugia to some degree; its abundant infinity energy may be of use to Lulu Flint, perhaps, in the development of her rocketeering.

"we drain it dry like a battery. kinda fucked up. well, i don't drain it. i just keep it healthy."

the apothecary stifles a snort unsuccessfully. it barrels into his nostril and down his throat as soren trips through the syllables of his name. but he's not making fun of him.[break][break]

at least, elijah does not mean it. instead, a part of his chortle stems from experiencing something new: his name spoken as if it were the wet pin feather of a ducklett becoming dry.[break][break]

"good to hear. most people complain to the higher ups about being partnered with me." elijah says, scratching the skin behind his ear. "so whether you like it or not, i guess you're stuck with me."[break][break]

he arches an eyebrow.[break][break]

"need a rest? some water or somethin'?" his eldegoss floats by soren, noticing how the other's chest hauls breath.
