His hair is played with like that of a child's. Noel couldn't remember the last time he felt this sensation. He couldn't remember if there was even a last time. So alone as a child was he, that he never once had anyone he could say was a mentor figure. Yet now in his travels and hardships, were people eager to teach him the ropes for him to become something better. Who was he to deny their help, when help was so hard to come by here.[break][break]

"Hmph, I'm gonna hold that to you. Don't be surprised when I come knocking at your door to get all this officialized."[break][break]

He had grown more weary than he thought. The first day of his awakening and already so much had happened. His exhaustion was partially his fault though, considering the commotion he caused earlier. It looked like it was finally taking its toll on his body.[break][break]

With a deep sigh, his body leans backward until his head softly lands on a pillow. As much as he hated to rest when there was so much to do right now, he didn't really have much of a choice or else he'd make things worse.[break][break]

"All right I guess I'll finally let my eyes sleep... But hey Ollie? Thanks for coming. I don't know what I'd do without you."

Hyakkaryōran Tsubaki

Finally the two seemed to be in agreement on something. The only way to fell this titanic Tinkaton was if the two worked together. Seeing that Tsubaki had started their offense already, Noel shouts out to his Braixen to do the same.[break][break]

"Braixen! Don't let them one-up you! Give it everything you got!"[break][break]

The fox Pokemon grips its wand tightly, a small flame forming from its front before slowly growing bigger by the second. Once enough fire had gathered, it would then wave it forward, the flames hitting the ground and dividing into multiple pillars like an inferno. The Burning Jealousy coinciding with the Salazzle's own hot breath.[break][break]

The fairy Pokemon tries to put up a resistance, using its hammer as a makeshift shield but the double-team attack was proving to be too much. Soon is its guard let down, subjected now to the steady torrent of fire coming from both Pokemon and taking a knee, and ultimately, laying down fainted and defeated.[break][break]

With the threat now gone, his Braixen eases up and its flames soon dissipate, Noel breathing a sigh of relief now that their work was done. Yet there was the aftermath that needed to be taken care of now. But first...[break][break]

He walks up to Tsubaki, his brow furrowed when he unleashes his rage.[break][break]

"We got lucky this time... But this could've gone a lot easier if you just listened to me. Honestly... I don't see how Navy lets you handle things with how reckless you are."[break][break]

Maybe he was being too harsh. Things can easily slip through in moments of anger and while Noel could clearly see her potential, he thought to himself that this was a job was best suited in his care.

The pit had become a bloody mess. The sounds of bones breaking and blood squished underneath the rampaging monster's feet is suddenly interrupted when something yanks it back to where it came from. A mercy maybe from the wardens once they had grown bored of watching this one-sided beatdown. No matter the case, everyone is given a chance to wallow in their pain as water rains down upon them.[break][break]

Noel lays battered and bruised on the floor, his breathing ragged as he tries to will his body back up but to no avail. It was only with the help of those around him that he is able to lean against the wall for support until he finds the strength to command his legs.[break][break]

Rest was a luxury, however. Already their captors are quick to corral everyone once more. It was time to return but Noel was too hurt to move on his own, limping towards the destination only possible through the assistance of his companions. He loathed how pathetic he felt at this moment. Unable to do anything on his own or vent his anger out onto. How much time was needed before he could make his move? The longer he stayed in this madhouse, the more he felt himself slipping deeper into the void.[break][break]

At last, he and Elise Calcifet are thrust back into their cell, still the same cesspit as the last they saw it. With the day done, now was the only time given to them to relax and sleep off their weariness.[break][break]

"Elise... go ahead and take that cot if you want... A lady needs her privacy after all."[break][break]

A cough violently erupts out of his mouth. He was dead set on giving her the more comfier spot to sleep in and no matter how much she may insist, he wouldn't budge an inch. The floor better suited him at this point. Ever the good samaritan, he continued on with this bravado act.[break][break]

But how long could it last?[break][break]

Finally his eyes give out. Either through exhaustion or his own willpower, no one could say. Yet when he awakens he finds himself in a completely new environment.[break][break]

What looked to be a sprawling city with bright, flashing lights that shined down on every inch of this place. What was most surprising was that his clothes had gone back to normal with no sign of any mask or Toxic Chain that smothered him previously. He could breath actual air, and gone were his injuries from before. Still this was no time to take in the sights. Stuck in an unknown world, he needed to find a way out of this dream... or maybe he had actually woken up?[break][break]

After wandering around for a moment, he sees no signs of anyone else save for the Megalopolans that, for some reason, paid him no mind. As much as he would like to ask questions, something much more important caught his attention[break][break]

Behind a glass pane of a nearby building were his endearing Shaymin. All six floating in a suspicious fluid and try as he might to wake them or free them, through the banging of the glass or attempts to smash it, nothing worked. So close was his answer on how to fight back, yet now it seemed as distant as ever.[break][break]

"There must be some way..." He thought to himself, going off in search of someone or something that could aid him.

He was so caught up in the moment that he forgot his manners.[break][break]

"Oh hi! Yes that's me! It's nice to actually meet you and your little Fuecoco too."[break][break]

A smile beams down towards to the fire-type. There wasn't much he knew of the crazed Pokemaniac, other than the fact she had her own gym here in Fallarbor town. But if she was able to hold a huge event here, then surely she must know of what goes on in this town. Plus those clawed marks of hers were eerily too similar to his own.[break][break]

"Actually the thing is... I wanted to talk to you about something..." His eyes shift from the stagehands and then back to her. This type of information should not be heard by just anyone.[break][break]

"In private. If that's ok."

Andrea Vaneau

Mere moments after the celebration of the winners of the contest, Noel finds himself backstage, searching and wandering. While the event was fun and he enjoyed himself way more than he thought, it wasn't his main purpose for being here. He was merely using it as a way to get closer to Andrea Vaneau, who he very much needed to met for questioning.[break][break]

Months passed by after his fateful encounter against the black crystal creature he faced back in Dewford. A crushing defeat that left him bleeding and scarred. While he promised Michael Navidson that he'd face whatever this thing was together, here he was out on his own to find answers. He wanted to prove himself. He was stronger now than the last time, with experience under his belt, he knew he could stand a better chance when he next met that monster.[break][break]

Or at least he hoped so.[break][break]

He was soon about to call of his search for this woman when finally out of the corner of his eye, he spies her talking with other people, the cleanup crew for the contest maybe? She was still clad in the same kimono he saw her in before, there was no mistaking it, it was her. His feet briskly step forward towards her, while a raised hand waves above him.[break][break]

"Andrea!"[break][break]

He smiles to himself. It seemed like word was getting around about his performance back in the tournament along with his partner, Shaymin. And while he did well, it was nowhere near as good as the actual top contenders, they would have to try even harder next time.[break][break]

"Thanks, me and that little guy had only just met at that time and even I was surprised by how well we did together. I can't rely on it for everything though so I'm changing it up a bit today. Who knows though, maybe you'll see it in action yourself today."[break][break]

His Shaymin was strong that was for sure, but everything had its weakness. If he were to bring it out against Alexei, they'd no doubt be at a disadvantage. But that was part of the test he figured, fights wouldn't be any fun if he was always on top.[break][break]

"All right Milotic... Show them what you can do!"[break][break]

The water serpent lets out a battle cry while eyeing its opponent, the flying dragon in front of it. With almost no close quarters capabilities, it would try and deal with this foe with range. A few Scale Shots would sling from the back of its tail, sharpshooting projectiles aiming to clip the Salamence's wings.

It was too late. Having no self-control at all, Noel takes sip after sip of the yellow drink. Glass after glass is downed without a second thought. He just couldn't get enough of the stuff, it was rare for him to partake in this sort of activity, and what better way than in the safety of someone else's home.[break][break]

Truth be told, he was already feeling the effects of the alcoholic content right after the second drink. His mind had become foggy, his body loosened and his eyes unfocused. Standing up from his chair, he looks to Aaron, clearly inebriated.[break][break]

"Hey now... Aren't you going to show me around? Let's take a little field trip..."[break][break]

He excuses himself from the counter, his legs swaying from left to right in no rhythmic pattern at all. His body bumps into nearby walls and furniture, thankfully nothing is knocked down. Yet.[break][break]

A door stands between him and adventure.[break][break]

"Is this your room? Mind if I... take a peek?"[break][break]

Permission was never needed in the state he was in. And even worse, it wasn't Aaron's room at all. Pushing his body through the door to open it, he stumbles inside. He lets out an audible "Whoa..." before perusing through Greyson Connors's things without a care in the world.[break][break]

Finally after snooping through, he lays in the comfort of Greyson's bed with a sigh of relief. Then a thought immediately comes to his head, something he had been meaning to ask from the very beginning.[break][break]

"Oh by the way... I kind of need a place to stay for tonight... Is it all right if I sleep in your bed tonight?"[break][break]

A yawn escapes his mouth as he tries to cover it up with a hand, already he was beginning to feel drowsy, more than likely due to the alcohol.

The elevator lowers from up above. Pangs of fear weigh heavy on his heart to see what laid on that descending platform. And his fears grew true. Just as they said, there were other wards in this accursed place. A group of people, all chained like him made prisoners by these sick creatures. One solace at least was the fact that they chose to trust each other, even if it wasn't exactly a unanimous vote.[break][break]

However more grave news soon followed. Not only did they have their new task at hand, cleaning up after their captor's own filth, but for whatever reason, the other ward was deemed fit to have another punishment on top of everything.[break][break]

It just wasn't right. Noel thought to himself.[break][break]

None of this was. He and everyone else no longer had any control over their own lives. Their best best would be to play along and find some opening, no matter how miniscule it may be.[break][break]

They delve deeper and deeper downwards, the unnerving sounds of pipes about to burst, the two wardens snickering to themselves along with the guttural noise coming from below all join together to create a symphony of madness. Each prisoner is forced off the the ogreish Okidogi, with Noel landing harshly beside his cellmate Elise Calcifet. Once they were back up on their feet, he acknowledges her suggestion to begin their work.[break][break]

"You're right... The sooner we do this the sooner they'll let us out of here. Or at least I hope that's the case."[break][break]

But nothing is ever as simple as that in here.[break][break]

As they quickly set to collecting the mochi into its designated bowl, a door opens up from a little ways away. Here was the challenge. A monster rushes out in a frenzy, crushing, whipping and beating anyone or anything that dared cross its path. Some prisoners manage to escape its wrath, while others such as Andrea Vaneau aren't so lucky. Elise herself is able to nimbly dodge out of harm's way, with the enshrouded creature careening off in search of easier prey.[break][break]

He wants to do something to end this. Anything to stop the cries of all those around him. Yet with this Toxic Chain coiled around his neck, there is naught he can do. All the strength he could muster was placed into his work.[break][break]

A glimmer of hope appears however, when both Remiel Calcifet and paxton concordas sneak through to join him and the Galarian princess. Remiel's voice being easily distinguished due to their past time together but the other's remains a stranger to Noel.[break][break]

"I agree. I think everyone wants to get out of here as soon as possible. If we work together we might even be able to to take down-"[break][break]

His plan is interrupted by the encroaching sound of stomps heading their way. The green creature notices their bunched up presence and charges towards them. Remiel and Elise are able to dodge its fury while paxton concordas throws whatever he can to throw its path off.[break][break]

Unfortunately that leaves Noel to receive the brunt of its lunacy. His legs unable to listen his own commands due to the Toxic Chain sapping away his strength.[break][break]

Or was that the case?[break][break]

He's knocked down by the crash of their bodies colliding with each other. Kicks, vine whips and all manner of beatings lash out against Noel. Pained grunts and screams echo out into the room, try as he best but there was nothing he could do to even put up a struggle. There was only one thought in his head.[break][break]

Why does it always have to end up like this?

He's taken by surprise when he hears a voice calling out from behind him. Quickly does he turn around to meet the owner of this shop. What he sees though, is not at all what he expected.[break][break]

His body is left stunned at the red-haired lady standing before him. She must be around the same age as him and yet, from the looks of it, has done so much already in her life. The assumption he had was that someone who was able to craft such renowned pieces for the locals must have been practicing their trade for decades at least. This just goes to show for him that she must be extremely talented in her work.[break][break]

And that she had to be the right person for his request.[break][break]

"Hello! And yes!... Wait... no... Actually what I want is..."[break][break]

The words stutter out of his mouth and he looks absolutely flustered. He pauses for a moment to think. What he wanted to ask was completely out of nowhere and should she deny it, the embarrassment would put him to shame.[break][break]

But here he was now and there was no turning back at this point. Mustering up the courage, he finally lets his thoughts out.[break][break]

"Do you... make anything else other than what you show here? The thing is... Me and my Pokemon have been fighting against some things that we have no chance against sometimes, and I was hoping you could make me something that might... even the odds I guess? A weapon or armor maybe?"[break][break]

Even he knew what he was saying was completely ridiculous to spout at someone he had just met and even worse, a civilian. Someone not caught up in the ordeals that he's had to face time and time again with Rocket and the all-powerful legendary Pokemon that could paralyze him with a simple stare.[break][break]

"Sorry, I know that must be a lot to ask for, and if you don't want to, I won't force you. I'll be up and out of your way if you don't think its possible."

With the ever increasing expenses that travel and food came with, Noel sought out to grow his own ingredients. So far gardening had been honest work, with the help of his Leafeon, he barely had to worry about the place. He would've never expected however that others might be trying to steal the fruits of his labor.[break][break]

A lone Mienfoo appears one day at his garden, its hand about to pick some of the growing berries right out from the ground until it notices that its been caught red-handed. The fighting-type assumes an offensive stance, ready to strike at any moment in order to claim its food. The Leafeon growls in return, it seemed like a brawl was soon to occur.[break][break]

But Noel steps in between them, placing a hand before his Leafeon as if to motion for it to stop. Rummaging through his pack, he brings out a piece of chocolate that he usually saves for his own Pokemon and places it at the palm of his hand, slowly motioning it forward towards the thief.[break][break]

"Come on. It's ok, we aren't gonna hurt you."[break][break]

The Mienfoo is cautious, taking a few steps forward toward Noel before finally reaching him. It sniffs at his hand, unsure whether this was a trap or not. Yet quickly does it swipe the candy and scurry off into the forest, enshrouded now in its shade.[break][break]

Noel breathes a sigh of relief, thankful that neither side had to get hurt and resumes work on his garden.

His body tenses up when the sounds of yelling could be heard nearby. His first thought was that he had gotten into trouble for taking even but a moment's rest. But when his name is called out, he looks to see the councilwoman freya morningstar speaking to him now. Or at least he thought it was her. Maybe it was the wooziness back then that hindered his memory of their meeting. There was one thing for certain though, he could never forget someone's voice.[break][break]

"Huh? Freya?"[break][break]

A simple smile greets his savior. Noel was quick to assume that such a dainty town wasn't worthy of someone of her position to take charge here. From what he experienced on those resurfaced islands however, this place had seen its fair share of war already. Due to its location, it might just be easy pickings for Rocket.[break][break]

"I take it your in command here? Sorry, I'll get back to work or else you might put me back in the hospital."[break][break]

A light chuckle is followed up by him standing back up straight. Stretching his arms out from them having rested too long before he resumes his normal posture once more.

Compensation? The mere thought of being paid to save Pokemon left a sour taste in his mouth. Noel was never in this line of work for the reward. Helping others was the reward in of itself. And while his wallet was certainly empty from all the traveling and expenses he had to pay for, accepting money just didn't feel right to him.[break][break]

"Huh? Oh... No, no you don't have to worry about that. I'm just happy to help."[break][break]

He then turns to face Kyle and gives him a slight smile. The two of them had done good work today and he was proud of it. Crime seemed to be running rampant all throughout Hoenn, and it would take a lot of time and effort for the region to truly feel safe. But every little bit helps, and Noel would continue to handle whatever came across his way for this goal.[break][break]

"It's starting to get late now and I wasn't even able to finish what I wanted to do today. Me and my Pokemon should probably start heading back... I trust that you can handle things from here? It was good meeting you Kyle, and I hope that we'll be able to meet again."

Noel was in no condition to fight any longer. The previous choking combined with the beating he so heavily was served made his breath grew ragged and his body weakened. It was no surprise then that this thief would aim for him once more, trying to finish things off once and for all. With his legs barely able to keep him up, all he was able to do was keep his arms up in a pathetic guard stance.[break][break]

The thrown object lands true, knocking whatever wind was left in him and causing his pose to waver, leaving him open for the follow-up attack. His foe's punch connects. Landing straight on Noel's cheek, the poor boy is sent crashing into a nearby shelf, all manner of food and merchandise raining down on him heavily and leaving him almost knocked out.[break][break]

His partner manages no better. The Hitmontop's swift punch interrupts the Shaymin's attempt at collecting energy. It is sent flying back once more its body spiraling around in the air from the wind-up punch.[break][break]

The battle looked to be lost for the pair.[break][break]

"Shaymin... Now!"[break][break]

Using whatever power it was able to store, the hedgehog lets loose a large, yet enfeebled Solar Beam that is shot from its mouth. The laser going in all sorts of directions, unable to be controlled from its position in the air. Yet this was their best shot at a counterattack, even if there was a chance of Noel getting caught in the blast.[break][break]

Racks and food are utterly destroyed in the process. Debris falls from up high when the beam tears through the ceiling, causing parts of it to collapse and land all around the combatants. Dust kicks up and shrouds the surrounding area in its veil.[break][break]

After a short while of complete destruction, finally does the attack dissipate with the Shaymin landing harshly against a nearby wall.[break][break]

Noel manages to limp himself back up on his feet, but his vision is obscured by the dirt cloud. He has no idea what has become of their enemies. Whether they managed to escape or were completely annihilated, he could not say. He hoped it wasn't the latter.
