Sen Hasegawa

[attr="class","sam-banner-up-blurb"]Though Emerson would be loathe to admit it, he didn’t immediately miss the tablet that had been stolen. At one point in the few days that had followed Sen’s departure from his place he’d thought about scrolling on it rather than his laptop, but when it didn’t immediately turn up where he thought he’d last left it, Em was quick to give up. It must’ve been somewhere else in his apartment, and he was far too lazy to actually get up. And by the time he had, the thought was a long forgotten one.

No, it wasn’t until a post popped up on his twitter that Emerson’s realization came crashing in. He had definitely not been the one to post that. Using his porygon-z, and some extensive diagnostics, it was relatively easy to trace the location, and what tech it had come from. But where had it gone?

He tore apart his house, which only confirmed that the tablet was nowhere to be found. Which meant that the last person who had been there apart from him had taken it. Which meant that his last ditch belief that the Sen he’d met was a different Sen wasn’t true after all.

This was Blossom, alright.

Fuming, he stabbed at the messenger icon on his desktop until it popped open. Rather than just type his ranting out, he slapped the video call button next, then did a little key combination to override the need for approval on the opposing end. A video chat popped open, Emerson’s face bright red and frustrated appearing on Sen’s screen. In all of his frazzled, tousled hair glory.

His eyes rolled, though he didn’t argue much. He knew that, yeah…his name was dorky. Not that he’d ever really minded it. “Em is fine, though.” It was what most people called him anyway.[break][break]
“Good to know.” Unceremoniously, he flopped back against the mattress, fully intent on going right back to sleep. Still his hand lifted, fingers waggling. He considered saying something like don’t be a stranger, but that mmm, sounded more clingy than flirty. “Catch ya later.” Succinct, to the point. Suggested maybe a future meet up, but not so serious that it had to be marked down on a calendar.[break][break]
As soon as he was out the door, Em rolled over and buried his face into one of the pillows with a long groan. It could’ve been way more awkward, sure. But he always felt stilted and socially inept. Especially when any alcohol he’d used to dumb down his thoughts wore off.[break][break]
Planted there like a beached fish, he didn’t bother moving until he heard the bzz bzz from his phone moments before the sound of the front door shutting followed. He considered waiting until later to look at it, but curiosity won out. After all that, he wanted to see if the guy had a dumb name like Chad or Dirk, or worst of all, Targ.[break][break]
His hand shot out, clutching the phone before he shifted to his side to peer at the new message. An absent smile tugged at his mouth at the use of little red. A nickname that steadily grew on him. But all of that pleasant feeling faded as he reached the end. Sen.[break][break]
Nuh uh. Nuh uh.[break][break]
There was no way—no. Noooooooo. Any semblance of coolness in his demeanor evaporated as he bolted to sitting up, eyes still fixed to the screen in his hands. A wash of bright scarlet flooded his face. “This a prank, right? Punk’d??” But there were no surprise cameras, and no host to jump out with the GOTCHA![break][break]
He fell back with a whine, legs kicking aimlessly like an angry toddler’s as his hands covered his face. Maybe it was just a coincidence. He wasn’t the only Sen in the world. Their last conversation online floated to mind, and more whines and tantrum kicks followed.[break][break]
Of all things—why did Sen have to be a good lay?

“No problem,” Em shrugged. There was no reason to read into the action. It was no more than simple figuring—he was parched and had a headache, so it wouldn’t be a leap to assume the other did as well.[break][break]
“Me either.” And in all honesty, whether this guy stuck around a little longer or not, Em would probably pass out again by the time he was out the door. His best work was done the later it got, and he had a deep seeded hatred of going out into the sunlight if he could avoid it. Maybe he was a prematurely killed vampire in a past life, or something.[break][break]
Again, he shrugged, another long yawn delaying his response as his arms stretched up over his head, fingers curling and wrists reflexively rolling. “No rush. M’not gonna shove you out the door.” Lazily, Em watched him dress, the hopes of a more satisfying send off slowly evaporating as he let out a short sigh. Oh well.[break][break]
At the offhanded remark, though, he smirked. “Because I didn’t offer it.” He pushed himself up again, hand out. “Phone.” It was nothing so sentimental, but he definitely wouldn’t mind hooking up again in the future. He waited until the device was offered up to him before tapping in his digits, and adding Emerson as the contact name.[break][break]
“In case you’re ever, y’know, bored…” he drawled intentionally as he handed the phone back, after having opened a new message screen to him. Obviously for him to send his name back.

“Oh. You’re awake. Hi.” It definitely wasn’t the most affectionate sort of response. One eye cracked open to look at the still nameless man. He didn’t remove his feet, though. A yawn slipped loose as his eye stubbornly shut again. “You n me both,” he grumbled, mouth smacking once as he realized how dry it was.[break][break]
A hand darted out from under the duvet, fumbling toward the top of the bedside table. Traveling until his fingers closed around a bottle before his wrist curled and he lobbed back toward the other haphazardly. “Here. Advil.” Then it was the moment he dreaded—Emerson pushed himself up, and slipped out from under the covers, skin crawling with a rush of goosebumps from the sudden cold. [break][break]
He wanted to sink back down and sleep it off, but his throat felt like a desert and he could at least be sort of polite. Even if he wasn’t about to make any pretenses about what this was, or linger too long on the fact that the guy had slept through the night without waking up to sneak away. Even more so that Em hadn’t pushed him to go.[break][break]
If anything, it felt like the opportunity to make use of before they both went on with their lives. He wasn’t about to say no to that, despite the fact that a quick look at himself in a hallway mirror as he shuffled on belied the fact that they’d already worked each other over pretty thoroughly.[break][break]
He came back with water in a couple glasses, dragging a hand across his eyes after he set one down and handed the other over in offering. He was quick to flop back down after that, rolling under the comforter with another shiver. “Gotta say, surprised you’re still here.”

But it’d do him no favors if he deteriorated into a nervous wreck now, so Em tries to stuff down his awkward demeanor. He wants to be impressive.[break][break]
Not that he’s too sure what will impress someone like the CEO. The offer for an interview in the first place is still a surprise that lingers in mind.[break][break]
Emerson sits back in his chair, forcing the tension out of his shoulders. A short wheeze of a laugh rattles out of his lungs. “Well that’s a relief,” he remarks wryly, before heat prickles the back of his neck. A sudden flush of nerves. Does he have a sense of humor about these things? Hell if Em knows.[break][break]
His head tilts, fingers linking together as he considers the suggestion.[break][break]
“Well, I can parrot back my credentials to you, but is that what you’re really looking for?” They’re all right there on paper, after all.

A click of his tongue follows the bespectacled man’s assertion. “Well it’s not mine.” Ergo, it’s his fault. Or it’s just out of both of their hands, but in his childish annoyance over having his typed-up comment lost the digital expanse of doom, Em’s not too keen making amendments.[break][break]
“No, that’s what I said,” he huffs as his words are mimicked back to him. [break][break]
Emerson leans back in his seat with a sigh, head tilting back to look at the ceiling. What was he supposed to do now? Sure, he could just go back to his apartment, but the last thing he wanted to do was try to type out everything he’d just lost all over again. His pondering was short-lived, an apprehensive thrill shooting up the back of his spine when one lone computer flickered to life again.[break][break]
“Huh?” He looks at Nagi with confusion, face scrunching up as his eyes narrow from the shrill noise coming from the monitor speakers. “What’s what?” [break][break]
Of course, Nagi isn’t the one who has to answer, as the porygon comes out of the screen blasting, SIGNAL BEAM leaving a scorch mark on the wall behind them. Startled, Emerson tumbles back and lands square on his ass.[break][break]
“Where did that come from?” the words coming out of his mouth in a honk of pitchy sound. The digital bird, meanwhile, pings around the room. [break][break]
Maybe the should get it? Before it, like, dips again by sinking into another computer?

Something about that statement, so bluntly given, sent a thrill dancing down his spine. He could feel the spike of his pulse, the hitch in his breath that was about as much of a response as he was able to give as his thoughts fogged over with need. For all of the lip Em had given, when the other hit the right spot as he trailed away, Em provided all the right results that had been wanted. And then some, maybe.[break][break]

The light slanting through the cracks in the blinds was far too bright. Emerson whined as he rolled over, warm in his spot and fully expecting to land in a cooler, untouched sliver of mattress. Of course, instead, he bumped in an equally warm body. Oh. Right. His company had stayed through the night.[break][break]

He was by no means making an attempt to cuddle, but it seemed his feet had stuck out from under the blanket in his sleep, and now his toes were cold. That meant that a shiver seized up under his skin despite his prior warmth and it was necessary to huddle close.[break][break]

And definitely stick his ice cube toes against the other’s shins.[break][break]

Em was groggy, his head ached from the cocktails he’d had. Tangled red strands of hair hung in his face before he haphazardly pushed them away. But the buzz and pleasant ache from the night prior remained on his bones. He let his eyes shut again, not quite ready to get up yet.

“Seems like it.” He bends awkwardly to give the eelectrik a little pat on the head before containing it in a pokeball.

Treat in hand, and legs free again, they can resume their walk. “Oh, uh well thanks! That’s kind of you.”

The tendrils of lingering ICY WIND wrap around Em’s bare legs, causing him to shiver. Wild to think it almost made him regret wearing shorts even if it was the height of summer, and apart from this isolated move, it had been sweltering.

“My contract?” he echoes, pausing to take a bite of his snack. It’s not until he’s chewed and swallowed that he follows up— “What about it?”

“Eh,” his shoulder rose and fell at the question asked, though the other was right—he wasn’t bothered. The bite that seemed to exist easily between them was enjoyable. It was sort of boring when he ran his mouth and the person he was tangled up with didn’t bark back.[break][break]

The thrill was in the push and pull. It made the experience more satisfying, and this guy didn’t disappoint. In fact, he couldn’t recall the last time he’d been this pleased by someone before even getting off.[break][break]

Of course, then he opened his mouth to let words come out and the redhead couldn’t leave it alone.[break][break]

Em rolled his eyes and pointedly looked away from him. Bleary eyes fixated on the lamp on his bedside table, more of a shape than something tangible in the dim dark. It was a stubbornness that didn’t last long as his stare darted back, drawn by the sound of laughter and the press of warm hands.[break][break]

The loose clamp of fingers against his jaw forced him to look up, meeting bright blue before he tilted away, and Em gave exactly what was wanted. Whimpers and sighs as legs hooked around hips again, hands scrabbling at loose sheets before climbing up his arms and over his shoulders.[break][break]

True to form, he couldn’t not goad him—even if he was near the point of being reduced to politeness if it was demanded of him. “That the best you got, babe?” It was only then that he remembered he didn’t actually have a name to use. Something that would be useful right about now.

[attr="class","sam-banner-up-blurb"]“Aw, your minun is mad cute— here,” Em pauses, shuffling through his backpack for the pokeball that then releases his plusle.

The lil guy scrambles atop Em’s head, peering down at the minun in James’ arms curiously. Beignet, however, finds something unfamiliar.

“Ampharos looks nothing like a sheep,” he remarks as his pawmot swings at it with an ARM THRUST. He looks over at James with a bright grin.

“So we’ll call it an overgrown rat for now.”
