He eyed the burning tent before his gaze flickered to his partner. It seemed like they had both accomplished their part of the mission. As long as that was the case, he was fine with it. Though he wouldn't have minded taking on one of the dark triad. Oh well, he would just have to make do with having taken out their grunts.

"Seems like you've accomplished your part of the mission as well, well done," he said simply. Considering dishing out compliments wasn't exactly his forte, that was the best that could be expected of him.

Deftly catching the envelope that was tossed his way, he only gave it a brief look over before tucking it away somewhere. "Same to you," he said in response to her question, watching as they both teleported away.

"Ares, it's time to go," he called out to his companion. The Gallade immediately came to his side at the call.

A piercing shriek from the tent distracted one of his opponents, earning him a cut through one eye as a reminder to pay attention to the battle he was in. The grunt attacked him in anger, actually shoving away a few of his companions to get at him. Having no interest in continuing the fight with someone too enraged to properly think his moves through, he cut him down just in time to see his partner slip inside the tent.

Good, she was inside. That meant he could stop holding back in order to buy her some time.

Changing his stance, he gave up all pretense of playing defense and attacked the remaining grunts with a new vigor. Two were taken out immediately, unprepared for his onslaught of attacks, and cut down when they couldn’t keep up. As their bodies hit the ground, he focused his attention on the remaining two, one being cut down with a Psycho Cut from Ares when she tried to run.

Despite the odds being against him, the remaining grunt tried to swing a knife at him. Raising his hand, he used the hidden blade he kept up his sleeve to block the attack before using his other hidden blade to stab him through the heart, killing him.

He wasn't really sure what to say to something like that. Having someone care about him was just strange. Sure, there had been his old mentor who had taken him under his wing. But the older male had always told him it was just business, and outside of training, he had mostly left him to his own devices.

Not knowing what to say, he simply nodded. It was unclear what he thought on the matter, which was unsurprising considering his default expression could be considered impassive.

Unsure what to make of his next reaction, he decided to just not acknowledge it. They had a job to do anyway. It was probably best they got done with their task sooner rather than later.

Silence lapsed between them for a while. Well, not really silence, but there was no talking between them. Surprisingly, it would be Ryker who spoke up, choosing to only give some advice, if it can even be called that.

As the older male promised he would stay on guard, he simply nodded, not bothering with a response since he was busy keeping an eye on their surroundings. A noise from above made him tense, but before he could react, the other male shoved into him.

Being a few inches shorter than the other meant he wasn't moved much, but it did give him the initiative to jump further out of the way to avoid what was dropping down from the ceiling. Trusting that his partner would be able to do her part of the job, he kept his attention focused on the grunts. As the one he had tripped up rejoined the fight, he sidestepped a punch from another one, causing him to stumble as he met no resistance. Finding them was child’s play and he could easily finish them off if he so wanted, but at the moment, in order to buy his partner some time, he was playing with them.

He wasn’t even bothering with any weapons he had brought with him, just dodging and tripping his opponents up. Ares stood on standby, ready to step in if he needed to, but anyone with working eyes would be able to see that his fighting skills outclassed the grunts. It was clear that the grunts usually attacked in groups in order to intimidate their opponents, but as riled up as they were at him, they were fighting more clumsily than usual.

As another swung his fist at him, he went on the offensive, moving his head to one side to avoid the punch and grabbing his fist, yanking him even more off balance. Before he could even get over his shock at him changing tactics, he had already stabbed him in the throat with one of the multitude of knives he kept on his person.

Seeing one of their comrades go down, they briefly hesitated. It was clear they were debating whether or not they could actually take him on. Their own pride got the better of them though, and the battle recommenced.[break] Alexandra Briarwood

He could agree with that. The last thing the League needed was more of an upper hand against them. So hopefully it was just some wild Pokémon making their presence known. And one that hopefully wouldn’t interfere with their mission.

As the rays of the sun intensified, he felt his muscles relax. Not that he became any less alert. He was just enjoying the feel of the sun, not that his expression gave away that he actually took joy in something. He didn’t really understand emotions enough for that to happen.

“They won’t know what hit them,” he agreed as he took a pokeball and released a Salandit from its contents.

The Salandit seemed to enjoy the increased sun as well, if the fact she decided to evolve was any indication.

He only gave the newly evolved Salazzle a brief look before turning his attention back to his friend.

Seemed she agreed with the plan. Good. He wasn't usually the planning type. Or at least not unless it was just himself. But he had to admit his ability to plan had gotten better since joining Team Rocket. Even if they were usually very simple plans.

As she was whisked away, his attention went back to the tent they had been watching before. He awaited the signal, prepared to jump into action at a moment's notice.

And there it was. Seeing the explosion followed by the grunts racing out of the tent, he acted.

Using Ares, his Gallade, he teleported to the edge of camp, well within view for them to notice. Though to make sure they took notice of him, he started to taunt their security measures, working to rile them up enough to keep their attention on him.

While it wasn't a tactic he used very often, it was effective. And like always, they fell into the trap. It was almost sad how easily such a tactic worked on them. In fact, one was so riled up by the taunts that he was stupid enough to think he could take him on personally and charged at him.

When his partner joined him, he glanced at her but didn't say anything. Like him, she didn't seem like the talkative sort. For the most part, it was because he never really knew what to say, especially to those he didn't really know. He knew enough about her, but not enough to get a feel for what kind of person she was overall.

As she mentioned getting a move on, he was about to tell her he was still waiting on Fenris to return when the Mabosstiff in question returned to his side. "Did you find the location of their camp?"

The Mabosstiff seemed to give an affirmative woof at low volume, and he glanced over at his partner. "If we follow Fenris, we'll be taken to their camp."

Taking care of the planet was in his usual line of work, but someone had to do it. Someone had to make sure Hoenn wasn't destroyed with all this poisonous gas and swamps that had appeared. After all, it would be hard to take over a place if there was no place to take over.

Still, though, couldn't someone else have been tasked with this? His main skill set lay in killing. He was an assassin, not some kind of cleanup crew.

He supposed it wouldn't be too bad, though. There was the possibility of still being able to battle. After all, poison-type Pokémon were presumed to be the ones behind this whole mess.

With Ares, his Gallade, beside him, he awaited the arrival of his partner. Some new rocket. Not that he had much room to talk, since he was still fairly new to Rocket himself. But unlike him, apparently the new rocket wasn't some hardened criminal, at least not yet he wasn't.[break] @ashton

Strong regret, huh? He still wasn't sure he understood. At the mention of Dorian, he kept his expression perfectly neutral. Not that it was overly hard. Being unable to really connect to his emotions, it made keeping a poker face super easy. Maybe a little too easy.

"That must have been horrible. What would cause such an attack?" he asked before realizing what he was asking. It was something his mentor had lectured him about. "Oh, that was rude of me, wasn't it? I shouldn't ask about painful memories," he said. Had he said that right?

"Unfortunately, I haven't been here that long. It must have happened before I arrived," he told the younger male. Either that or it had been right before he had joined Team Rocket, when he had been living away from civilization.

While waiting for Josh to say something, movement from his peripheral vision caught his attention. Turning his head, he saw a Pawniard that didn't seem too happy to see either of them. Perhaps they had crossed into her territory. Either way, he was going to catch her.

Taking out a Pokéball, he released Ares from its contents. The Gallade looked around before spotting the Pawniard, who immediately attacked with Feint Attack. Ares barely reacted before using Sacred Sword on the Pawniard.

Surprisingly, despite getting hit with an attack that had quadruple damage, the Pawniard was trying to get up to fight. Seeing the Pawniard on its last leg and realizing where this would go, he tossed an empty Pokéball at the Pawniard.[break] Josh Devlin

Luckily, his friend returned to normal, and he listened to what he had to say. He didn't like it. It sounded like some serious mind control, making you feel things that you didn't actually feel. It was something he would have to keep an eye on. He already had enough trouble trying to connect with his emotions on his own, without some external force trying to impose them on him. That would only lead to confusion.

"Seems like Pokémon or the league aren't the only things we need to be on guard against," he told his friend. He didn't do warm or fuzzy, especially not on assignments. He preferred to keep things as business-like as possible.

Upon his friend's comment, he shook his head. "I'm not sure. Maybe it's a Pokémon? If so, it's not a cry I'm familiar with," he said as he resumed walking, now that it was clear his friend was truly back to normal.[break] dorian westcliff

He stared impassively down at the tent, with the DRK Triad from their vantage point, his gaze taking in the area around the tent. Though not obvious, he was scanning for any dangers or obstacles that could get in the way of their objective. He had already picked out a few people working under them, or as he liked to call them, grunts.

Hearing her comment, he simply made an affirmative noise, seeing no point in giving a response. Like her, he simply wanted to get this done and over with. So the quicker they dealt with the problem, the better.

Another noise of affirmation before he turned away from assessing their surroundings to respond to her final comment. "There doesn't seem to be any posted guards. They're confident in their ability to keep ahold of any data they've attained. Confident that no one will attack them. I've counted a small number of grunts that work under them in the tent. Their confidence borders on arrogance; we can use that to our advantage. I think we should create a distraction and bring them out. Then I'll call their attention to me while you get the research."
