Rosanna raised her brows. "You think so?" Maybe she'd come along this route more often to do some mindless reading. It did seem rather peaceful, and Persesus would probably have no trouble keeping her safe.[break][break]

Speaking of... a giant WALREIN appeared from the grass, flashing its tusks in her direction. Her Pokemon took charge, attacking with another NIGHT SLASH and giving her an opportunity to throw another Poke ball while it was stunned.[break][break]

Rose offered a smile, a rare occasion especially for strangers.[break][break]

"I do. Look at her. It looks like she's really happy in your arms right now," she said, pointing at his SPRAGATITO. She remembered doing similar things when Perseus was a tiny frog.[break][break]

"Oh, just some theories on Pokemon evolution. I don't really understand much, but I like to learn..." It was a bit embarrassing, admitting that she didn't know what she was reading. "Rosanna. Nice to meet you, Lam."

Already, this person seemed to rub Rosanna the wrong way. While she probably meant well, this Shalin individual seemed cocky. She didn't like that.[break][break]

She crossed her arms over her chest, raising an eyebrow as she watched the kid on the BEEDRILL. Was that even a safe idea?[break][break]

"Language skills are probably even more important than playing on the back of a Pokemon," she said with a scoff, jutting a hip out to prove her disdain.[break][break]

Rosanna nodded, following behind him to his cubicle. She made she to take her cup of coffee with her, leaning against the desk with her hips and sipping on it while he worked.[break][break]

She watched him as he marked the page with what seemed to be the most important details. If any of her opinions of him had been negative before, she'd surely changed them by now, at least a little bit.[break][break]

Gunner offered her the paper back, and she looked over it for a moment before nodding.[break][break]

"That narrows things down for me as well. My files were a mess. I appreciate your help."[break][break]

Rosanna tipped her head back, finishing the cup of coffee in a few gulps before sighing.[break][break]

"Okay, thanks, Mr. Graves. I'm going to set this on my desk and get to it later. I think I should probably leave my desk for a while at this point..." she mumbled to herself, walking back to her workstation to grab her things.

Rosanna lifted her head when she heard a voice, raising her eyebrows as a green-haired man came into view. She couldn't help a small snort from her nose as she looked at him reunite with his Pokemon.[break][break]

They matched. It was adorable, really.[break][break]

"Not a problem, really. We were just passing through," she offered, indicating to her GRENINJA at her side. Perseus stood taller now, more relaxed now that they weren't threatened.[break][break]

"Oh, no, I wasn't doing anything important. I was just talking about my book. I should've been paying more attention, really." Her book snapped closed as she looked between lam logan and the Pokemon.[break][break]

"They seem like they care about you a lot."[break][break]

To the side, a tall EMPOLEON waddled onto the scene. Threatening to ruin the moment, Perseus quickly attacked with a NIGHT SLASH, allowing Rosanna to toss a Poke ball at the Pokemon.

A summer camp didn't quite fit into the vibe that Rosanna Belmonte set for herself. And anyone looking at her could say the same.[break][break]

However, she had been asked to come to this summer camp to help provide language and dialect lessons to children who were interested in learning a second language. Since she was fluent in three, and working on Aloloan, she obliged.[break][break]

Sitting in the heat was a pain in the butt. Why her activity couldn't be held outside, she had no clue. Rosanna fanned herself with some papers, sighing as she caught a glimpse of a ranger with her Pokemon across the way.[break][break]

"They seem more interested in you than me," she said with a rather grumpy voice.

Rosanna sipped her coffee, regarding him with a curious gaze. It wasn't her place to pry. She knew it wasn't. But she was curious. She wanted to know what exactly he was hiding from her.[break][break]

"I see. While you're here, do you mind reviewing something I was working on before you go? It'll only take a moment."[break][break]

One less thing to keep her here later.[break][break]

She disappeared briefly before returning, a paper in her hand. She held it out to him. "I wasn't around when the event happened, so I'm missing a few details regarding the kidnappings of these officials. Do you mind marking anything that may be important for me to review?"

Biology was not in her field of study. In fact, most of the sciences that were not related to social science were far from Rosanna Belmonte's forte. But, she found herself attending the biology convention nonetheless out of pure curiosity and interest.[break][break]

She knew that if she found the right speakers, it would prove useful in some capacity. Or, at least, if a kind attendant cared to explain something in detail she'd understand...[break][break]

Her eyes were scanning over the pamphlet she'd received about PARADOX POKEMON in particular. From what she understood, they were still relatively unknown and a mystery.[break][break]

Rose could understand, by the pictures provided of them.[break][break]

She was heading in the direction of the food stalls, when she bumped into someone's back. "Oh. Pardon me," she said, barely looking up from the pamphlet.

Rosanna walked route 118 with her GRENINJA, who seemed keenly aware of their surroundings as the two walked. And rightly so, because its trainer was intently focused on her book rather than the trail ahead of them.[break][break]

"Say, do you think that if Hoenn implemented these tactics, we could—?"[break][break]

Her thoughts to her Pokemon were cut off as they came across rustling grass. Her frog-like Pokemon crouched lower in a stance, threatening to attack. She waved her hand, telling him to hold, as she approached and slowly brushed through the foliage.[break][break]

There, she saw a SPRIGATITO and a LEAFEON, blending in well into their surroundings. "Oh. Cute," she said, tilting her head. "You two look like you belong to someone."

Rosanna lifted the cup to her lips regardless of his gaze to the coffee, as though he was questioning her continuing to drink it. It was still hot, but it didn't scald her. She'd probably still drink it even if it did.[break][break]

"I could offer you the same advice. You're still up, making another cup of coffee. Something has to be on your mind to keep you here so late," she said with a raised brow.[break][break]

"Honestly, I'd rather get my thoughts in order before I leave. Otherwise I won't remember where I was from tonight..."[break][break]

Rose set the cup down, crossing her arms as she regarded him with a blank look. "So? Why are you staying late? Surely someone like you has someone waiting for them at home?"[break][break]

"Rose, it's rude to ask such blunt questions!" she remembered her college roommate always telling her, mortified by her curiosity and genuine interest. "Sorry. I don't mean to pry."

Rosanna couldn't help a small, almost scoffing laugh at his question. "The question of the hour, hmm?"[break][break]

She didn't mean it rudely. The microwave beeped as he coffee was done, though as she grabbed the mug, she flinched as it burned her fingers. She cursed, deciding to wait a few moments to grab it.[break][break]

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be rude. Exhaustion is finally starting to set it," Rose said simply, grabbing the mug with a cloth this time.[break][break]

With the microwave door closed, Rosanna set the cup down and met his gaze, though she had to tilt her head up to make eye contact.[break][break]

"I was investigating the multiple kidnappings and the reports of what happened between Miss Livy and Mr. Silph on Mt. Chimney. There's a lot of information, and I feel that I've barely scraped the surface and already have confusing results."

Her fingers tap away at her keyboard. When they weren't typing, she had a pen in hand, jotting down notes or other details that were pertinent. A cup of coffee she had brewed about thirty minutes ago was sitting on the side of her desk, growing colder by the minute[break][break]

Rosanna's eyes flicked to the clock. It was eleven thirty?[break][break]

On a normal day, she would have been home almost six hours ago. But, since the kidnappings, the reports, everything that had occurred all in a short period of time, it would be a rarity if she'd get home by one or two in the morning... if that.[break][break]

Rose didn't mind that much. It kept her brain busy. But, a lot of it was conflicting. The information didn't make sense. She grabbed the cup of coffee, sitting back in her chair as she sipped. Her face turned into a grimace, standing up from her desk for a short break to heat it up again.[break][break]

However, as she entered the break room, she noticed she wasn't alone. There was a man she was growing more and more familiar with as the work days passed. He stayed late often as well, she noticed. Gunner Graves.[break][break]

"Mr. Graves. Another late night?" Rosanna chimed, putting her microwave-safe mug into the microwave to heat it.
