Lucas returns the lycanrock.[break][break]

"Well that's the nature of pokemon battles. So I'm not sure what to tell you. If it'd been a steelix I used it could have literally shattered phantump to splitters." He sighs. "Though I'm sorry for not pulling back and ending it sooner."

Slateport park was bustling with both people and pokemon alike.[break][break]

Lucas walks past @perry with phone in hand. He was just wrapping up a call regarding a new shipment of Galar pokemon, many of which would be put to auction. As he bids farewell to the auctioneer he reaches into tote bag hanging from his arm. Out of it he pulls a jar of high quality honey. Taking a seat on a bench Lucas places the jar next to him before placing his phone back into his pocket. Using two hands he twists the cap off the jar and places it out for the wandering pokemon.[break][break]

When the next pokemon that strayed across their path goes unnoticed by the presumed Ranger Lucas reaches for a pokeball. He releases its contents, a shiftry. "Stay moving and keep a distance."[break][break]

Shiftry breaks out into a sprint, circling around the solrock. With a simultaneous wave of its arms it raises a miniature hurricane that sends the solrock spiraling. A leaf tornado follows closely behind. Dead leaves and sand are pulled into its clutches alongside the target. When the wind settles Lucas throws a pokeball.

"I have my doubts that getting hit by wheelchairs is another day for them. Don't see those too often in the wild." Lucas should know, his is the only one he's ever seen in the Hoenn region.[break][break]

"I'm surprised you're catching pokemon that aren't grass types. Thought you'd be a little more of mono type trainer like Cait."

Lucas returns his lycanroc moments after handing Selena the paper. Soon after an Armaldo comes barreling out of its hiding place. His hand flies to the nearest pokeball. In a flash of light Kabutops emerges. [break][break]

"Aqua jet." Kabutops acts immediately on its trainers stern words. Water envelopes and propels its body towards the fossil pokemon. Armaldo is sent smashing into the ground. "Ancient power!" Lucas' voice booms. The rubble from the excavation site is sent hurtling towards Armaldo. It becomes pinned underneath their weight.[break][break]

"It's an Armaldo, and they were very common in Hoenn way back." Lucas takes a step closer to check if the Armaldo was still moving. The only indication it wasn't was a single foot poking out of the stack of rubble. "I doubt it's any sort of gravekeeper. Revived pokemon have no memories upon revival, or did Ciman not tell you?"

"Well copperajah is rock type, yeah? He should be plenty resilient to whatever torkoal throws at it." Although Lucas had managed to acquire one of the newly imported pokemon from Galar he wasn't knowledgeable about it. He skimmed what he deemed the less important details of the document package that accompanied it.[break][break]

"Though I did skim that part of the Galar importation documents."

"Well that's a relief" Lucas says as the copperajah trots ahead.[break][break]

"Yeah yeah go ahead. Plenty of pokemon around for the both of us." Gently patting the copperajah Lucas brings it to a stop. "You need any help taking it down? Might do a number on your corviknight." Lucas reaches for a pokeball on his belt. "It wouldn't be any trouble."

Lucas looks up towards the source of the voice. A hand shields his eyes from the sun overhead.[break][break]

"Don't plan on it" he yells back. "I've just been hunting some pokemon. Has anyone gotten hurt out there?" Lucas thought it somewhat odd that the ranger would approach him without reason. "If they did I can lend them my copperajah to help with the recovery efforts."

Flames engulf the wolf pokemon as it drives its prey to the ground. It tinges its fur and begins to burn the skin underneath, burning the remnants of a prior leech seed along the way. Pushing through the pain lycanroc clamps down on the phantump's neck and shakes it wildly with intent to kill. When branches jut into its mouth there's an initial squeal and whipping back of its head. "Keep on going. Don't stop!" Lucas shouts reassuringly. [break][break]

Countering the phantump's efforts at recovering lycanroc throws its head back towards the phantump. It strikes back with twice the force phantump had shown moments earlier. Claws dig deep into its ghastly form while crunching teeth render helmet useless.

Seeds bury themselves between lycanroc's rock embedded mane. Several manage to shake lose as it collides with the phantump; though the vast majority still remain, sapping strength. Pinning the decayed stump to the ground on landing lycanroc crunches down on the child specter immediately. Wood splinters between each gnaw.[break][break]

Before lycanroc can turn the phantump into a pile of toothpicks its form, stump and all, dissipate. Sniffing the air lycanroc tries in vain to sniff the pokemon out. When phantump re-materializes it lands a blow square in the head. "Behind you!" Lucas would shout, his words much too late. Enraged lycanroc growls and lashes out in phantump's direction. It attempts to get hold of its volatile body and crunch down.
