"Oh you can say that again" Lucas interjects. The ultra beasts had a rippling effect throughout the region.[break][break]

"No no you don't need to. I've been meaning to hire a new assistant lately. I think this is just the push I need to finally get around to it." Ice cracks beneath the dracovish's heavy feet as they walk. "If you have any recommendations for people to fill the position though I'd be glad to hear them."

"Look I can't really do that. I don't want to get involved in this whole fiasco."[break][break]

After Selena explains her proposal to the scientist he takes out a small black notebook and pen from his pocket. He writes down two phone numbers and labels each before ripping the page out. "I can't help much with your idea but it's a noble one. The top number here is a league branch that should help relieve you of any liability with this whole fiasco. While the bottom one is for a group that manages grants and funding for researchers."

"Okay let me think who I'll use." Lucas Lane thinks hard about what he'll use against the phantump. A hand initially wraps around a ball containing aerodactyl, but he quickly releases his grip. That wouldn't be a fair fight.[break][break]

"Eros you're up." Lucas releases a dusk lycanroc as he spoke. "Get in close to the phantump." The wolf pokemon moves at an accelerated rate towards the ghostly apparition. Once close enough lycanroc pounces at it.

Lycanroc used Accelorock!

The lycanroc makes quick work of the Dottler. Razor sharp rocks propel from its mane at high speeds as it unleashes stone edge. One wedges itself just underneath the dottler and manages to catch the bug off balance. With its stomach exposed the wolf pokemon releases another volley of stone edge at Dottler's exposed underbelly.

Capture Attempt

Lucas knew that traversing the desert alone was too great a risk to take. Though the pokemon inhabiting it were like a sweet aroma of honey, irresistible. Determined not to fall to such entrapment he rode along the edge of the desert where sand mingles with the grass. Atop Copperajah Lucas patiently waits for a pokemon to cross his line of sight.

Open

Lucas sat on the couch with a book in hand titled The Art of Battling. On the cover was an illustration of a ferocious battle between a garchomp and a Gyarados. Underneath the author Daniel Waldman's name was stamped in bold white letters. Glancing at the clock as he flips the page he decides to put the book away. He takes a bookmark off the coffee table and places it in the book.[break][break]

Cracking open the container Lucas retrieves a cookie to eat while he waits for Noelle. He took off the anorith's head in one bite.

Lucas places a collar holding the live recording device around the lycanroc's neck. After checking it was tight he sends the pokemon through the entrance the previous search party made in the rubble. [break][break]

Lycanroc leads the party of pokemon into the tunnel. It doesn't take long for the light from outside to be little more than a memory. When it does a flashlight hanging from the wolf pokemon's collar lights the party's path. Like a lighthouse during a storm lycanroc illuminates the path to safety.

Mauvile Miners Pokejob

"We hit some pokemon. How can you not be concerned?" Lucas releases a long sigh. "Look I just thought this would be a nice relaxing walk. I'll stay for a bit longer, but you're not taking the wheel. I don't want another accident. Ditto will be pushing me instead."

"Makes plenty of sense. And just to make sure, he hasn't bitten you at all before when trying to feed him?" Lucas Lane looks at the woman with concern in his eyes. "It'd be best to take a look at the bite in case he did. Certain pokemon bites, intentional or not, can prove fatal if left untreated." He was concerned for the aspiring trainer.[break][break]

"Well hopefully you find it soon. If Frankie is anything like some of the early fossil revival subjects he won't last long without some fine tuning. But I'm sure you'll find the material in time."
