The pokemon tag team pupitar. Tyranitar does a running kick that sends pupitar hurtling into the water. On queue the relicanth unleashes a devastating hydro pump to sink the larval pokemon. Like an anchor it sinks to the bottom of the river bed.[break][break]

In a last ditch attempt to save both its life and freedom pupitar unleashes hyper beam against the river bed. It rockets the pokemon into the air so high it could make out the nearby town. When it comes back down it does so with a crash.[break][break]

Lucas throws a pokeball at the nearly dead pokemon.

Lucas jots down notes as Annie talks.[break][break]

"Murder anything around it? Is that the reason for the helmet on his head?" He looks up from the clipboard towards Annie. There was a slight concern written on his face. "No one was hurt I hope." Lucas waves a hand towards the helmet. "I'm also assuming Cotillard left plans for that too didn't he?"

"I'll repeat it again. I have to report this." Lucas put emphasis on the latter sentence. [break][break]

"I just can't. But look, I'll be frank with you. Likelihood something is gonna be done about it today is going to be slim to none." The fog begins to thin, revealing the path back down the mountain. "And if I were you I'd be hesitant about helping Climan with this. Whatever he's paying you can't be worth the hassle that'll come of it."

Lucas Lane's expression dulls. "So he hasn't gotten the go ahead at all then?" He interjects.[break][break]

"Well I can't not report him." If it was discovered that the head scientist didn't there'd be serious repercussions. He could potentially lose his job even. "He really dug his own grave here. Ciman will be getting at least a fine for this, and probably lose whatever sponsors he might've had lined up."[break][break]

The pity the head scientist had about denying the professor's funding inquiries was gone in a near instant.

"I didn't know he hired anybody." What Lucas really meant was that he didn't know the professor could afford to hire anyone.[break][break]

"No no he didn't hire me." That'd have drained what little money the professor had left. "I just came to check up on him and see how things are going." Lucas peers into the excavated hole in the ground. All he could see was fog pooling in it. "Hard to believe he actually got the clearance for the dig this close to the graves."

The baseball whistles past him. It misses his head by near inches and collides with an oak tree behind him.[break][break]

"Hey lets watch where we throw things." Lucas chides the trainer. "Could have given me a concussion there." He steps over a small boulder teeming with moss. Staring at the collapsed trainer it takes Lucas a moment to outstretch a hand. "Here, let me help you up."

After capturing dracozolt Lucas Lane walked with more confidence. He'd not only successfully captured fossil monstrosity, but also successfully put his teachings into practice. A sign his time and money spent towards improving at battling wasn't a total waist.[break][break]

The minor victory gave him the false confidence that he might even beat Noelle Lane or mateo martinez in a battle one day.

"Yeah it hasn't been too good" Lucas admits. The bruises he had from falling would attest to the fact.[break][break]

"It's been" he hesitates for a moment. "Well it's been stressful. I've been putting in a lot of overtime recently to make up for my brief absence." His brief leave during his recovery and then the ultra beast developments left a mountain of work for him when he got back. "But whatever I seem to do works keeps on piling up."

Littleroot town was out of sight but not out of mind for Lucas Lane. He could still hear the faint sounds of the town's weekly baseball game. Scattered around were a handful of baseballs that'd been written off as lost for the townsfolk.[break][break]

Foliage rustles as Lucas heads off the beaten path. With a ball in hand he inches towards what sounds like a large pokemon.

Lucas Lane places the last of the refreshments on the counter. A freshly baked apple pie so good it'd put an appletun to shame. The bakery he'd bought it from said the secret to getting it so good was freshly harvested appletun cinnamon sugar.[break][break]

From a kitchen drawer Lucas pulls out a lighter. It takes several minutes of cursing to get the fire going. When it does he lights several candles around the house. A hint of citrus fruits and cedar fills the air.[break][break]

As the clock struck half after Lucas opens the gate to his property to ease the instructor's arrival.

Lucas does his best to put the battle lessons he'd endured into practice.[break][break]

"Keep steady and most importantly keep your distance." Cracking open its maw Glalie releases a bone chilling blizzard. Frost coats the ground and a cry of surprise from dracozolt. It begins to charge at Glalie, ready to slam into it.[break][break]

"Ice beam at the legs. Ice beam at the legs!" Lucas' heart pounds in his chest.[break][break]

Ice beam freezes the dracozolt's legs in a block of ice which sends it smashing into the ground. Apprehensive about capturing the now thrashing dracozolt Lucas launches another ice beam at the target. With the pokemon now nearly frozen solid he throws a pokeball.

Lucas Lane could tell from the rumbling that his companions weren't dead. Though what fate did await them he wasn't sure. Peaking over the edge didn't yield any conclusive results.[break][break]

Dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge the scientist perseveres. When the sand disappears his path becomes clear. Cautiously he makes his way over to investigate the rest of the room. He looks in awe at the translucent barrier as he passes it by. For a moment Lucas reaches out with his hand to touch it but quickly recoils. Instead he nudges a rock towards the barrier to see what effect they'd have when colliding.[break][break]

He narrates his thought process for the go pro strapped to his head.
