After finally sitting down and getting a moment to relax in his seat, he glanced at the cover of the brochure to Hoenn. It seemed to only highlight sights to see for someone that was traveling or going on a vacation, however. It wasn't much to flip through either, though it was probably still better than small talk.

Though, perhaps being rude to a man he would be sitting with for the next many hours wasn't such a good idea. He hated small talk, yes, but he also didn't feel like causing any problems in an airplane however many miles above the ocean they were bound to be.

"Every day has been a long day for as long as I can remember," he said with a soft scoff and a shake of his head. "I don't see 'em getting shorter any time soon, either."

The funeral had been rough. It had been hard trying to get it off his mind enough to relax, but he had far too many other things to be worried about to be blessed with any form of relaxation on this plane. At least he was going somewhere new though, somewhere he could start something new for himself. Sure, he had a horrible upbringing, but he was past that now. All he needed was a deep breath and a little bit of confidence right? Oh, any money helped.

Unfortunately, the plane ticket cost him just about everything he had. Perhaps if he had bought one for a few days out, he could've saved a few bucks... but Pierce couldn't wait anymore. He needed to get out of this region, and he needed to do it now. He could figure out the money issue later, even if he couldn't get it off his mind along with everything else. Where was he going to stay? Hopefully there would be a hotel or something with a room for the night.

He had grabbed a brochure about the region while he waited to board and saved it for the plane. Not that it would take that long to flip through the condensed information, but it sounded good at the time. When he did board the plane though, he memorized his seat number and located it. There was already a man seated in the window seat next to his aisle seat, but he hardly paid him any mind as he loaded his backpack into the storage compartment over his seat.

After struggling with the door to close, he sighed as he sat in his seat with the brochure in hand and waited for take off.

He'd only been in Hoenn less than twenty four hours, only one night, before he was already at the mall. Not because he just had to check out all of the local fashion, but because he didn't bring shit with him besides the bare necessities all stuffed into a worn backpack. He needed more than one pair of underwear, to put it bluntly, and the mall seemed like the best place to go and get everything all at once.

Walking out of a store with a bag in hand, he made his way to the food court after his stomach gave a rather demanding roar of starvation. He didn't have much money left, but maybe there was something he could afford. Groceries would certainly be a better choice, but he was hungry now.

Falling into line behind others that seemed to also choose what appeared to be the cheapest food stall in the mall, Pierce counted out his last few dollars before studying the menu, since he could clearly see it over everyone elses head being so damn tall. Once it was his turn, he ordered a large side of fries and looked for a free table after grabbing some ketchup. When he couldn't find one, he found an empty bench nearby and sat down to devour his fries as politely as his raging stomach would allow.

Pierce was happily minding his own business, and he was keen on doing so even, but some people made it hard. Some people acted like they wanted the attention of others, whether it was good or bad. Pierce wasn't that pissed off yet, but he was quiet annoyed! Did that pokemon not realize that it was spraying cold water everywhere as it tried to help out its trainer?!

"Do you mind?" he barked at the seemingly oblivious trainer and pokemon, brows furrowed as he wiped some of the mist off his face as if to prove a point. Though, he should probably keep his mouth shut. That giant floatzel would trash his poor Lykos and he didn't recognize the other pokemon well enough to know whether or not Grimm could stand a chance, but he assumed not. They looked strong, but that didn't stop him from being a bit frustrated and spouting off.

Others, however, weren't leaving despite the setting sun. Of course, the crowd that would remain at the beach to squeeze out the last few moments was much easier to tolerate than when half the city appeared to be here prior. He supposed he couldn't expect everyone to leave the beach just because the sun was going down, but it was a nice thought at least.

He decided to venture down closer to the water. Unlike the others that were enjoying the beach with their pokemon friends, Pierce knew better than to let his out. Poor Lykos would suffer and everyone else would suffer if he released Grimm, especially with it getting dark. As he approached the water, he noticed a woman a few steps away jump back presumably from it's temperature. He half smiled in amusement before looking back out over the water towards the horizon, wondering if he'd really be able to make something of himself here and with Rocket.

When he was told that he would be sent on a mission to pick up some pokemon at night from the docks and bring them back to sell. They were illegal, so he was really doing the pokemon a favor he believed. Though it wasn't like he particularly cared. All he was interested in was the money at the end, it wasn't like any of the pokemon on the ship were his. So he really thought that this job would be easy, perhaps too easy as they sat in the unmarked van while they waited for the rotom to mess with the security system.

"Sounds good," he said as he got out of the van and followed the man down the pier and towards the ship once the pokemon had returned. He wondered how many there were and if there'd be time to grab them all before they were caught should there be multiple. Certainly a ship wouldn't be carrying only one pokemon, but perhaps that's what made this mission harder than it seemed at first. Though he supposed he would have to wait until they got there, but it didn't stop him from looking back over his shoulder towards the building to make sure they were still safe.

He should probably be headed to the Rocket HQ right now, having just gotten off the plane. He packed light, carrying only a backpack of his essentials to keep his flight cheap. He would have to make time to get some new clothes, but for now, he strolled across the beach with his hands in his pockets, making a point to avoid others while getting a view of the ocean.

It was getting late though, the sky a mixture of colors as the sun began to set. He couldn't stay long, but others were already leaving. Then he could enjoy the beach alone... unless someone else had the same idea.
