it was the right answer all things considered, but not thinking of what he was saying before actually saying it leads to him saying the obvious.

priam has met up with their head scientist to check up on the tree. this wasn't the first time that the city had its giant tree as its focal point, and on the same spot nonetheless.

on his hand was a checklist of things that needed to be performed for tree check-ups, provided by tree experts in the organization. the dyna tree, despite not being similar to any normal tree, still had to be checked for its health just in case.

"if only the others weren't stationed 'round the tree, then i could've showed off by fightin' any intruders tryin' to steal from our tree!"

the last item on the list is ticked off. the preliminary inspection is cleared, labeling the tree as healthy. any other tests can now be commenced should naomi want to.

"did your notes mention anything about a tree?" he asks.

it was from the same place as when they got their souvenirs, after all. it was possible something from their dream could hint towards it, if only had they not forgotten.

"oho?" a teasing tone would come from priam as he hears the admin's demands. "did i catch the eye of mister slayte of slateport?"

he feels flattered, perhaps too much. he's never had someone praise his physical attractiveness out in public before, besides maybe bryan delarosa he supposed. it forces him to run on auto-pilot as his face flushes.

on hindsight, the words didn't constitute a compliment, but his head takes it as such.

"if you wish, then-"

he sits up from the gym equipment and takes off his shirt. there's a smug smile that accompanies the strip show he's offering howard, but it's part of the confidence he fakes until he makes it.

there would be no markings on his skin, however.

his gabite pops out of the hole, revealing that it has been digging. claws jab the cyclizar once it slowed down from almost tripping, utilizing its blind underside.

"if ya think about it, ya have the same eyes as the gods? why else would they give me the ability to locate the treasure of ultra deep sea? even that little azelf guy thinks i'm important enough to be visited!"

priam continues to talk about his accomplishments, if those could be considered as that rather than strokes of luck.

the sands continue to billow. they have waned from the cyclizar's efforts, but its presence remains, no matter how weak it had been within the last few seconds.

he visits the shrine with his gabite. he's been through a lot, so priam supposed that he could do a trip to a shrine that worships him.

draconids worship dragon-types, right?

the regi effigy stares at him as he rings the bell. he's seen it before during the regirock ruins trip, but he isn't sure if it's related to that.

probably, he thinks. if it does, the voice in his head should speak up, right?

like the conclusion of the other match, priam cannot tell if he won or not. he just knows that the match is done thanks to a notification from the vital gear.

"good match!" he congratulates, or comforts, regardless of the outcome.

he tries to open his eyes, but they're still burning from the espeon's flash bang. instead he goes around to look for the pokemon to see if it can act like his seeing-eye dog.

if matias became very angry, priam wondered if he can somehow just sneak into Elisabeth Fiorelli's phone again and calm him down with sexy texts.

that's just a random thought though. he would never do that, probably.

seeing that the meowth attacked with a weak power gem, the espeon decides to not attack with a weak move. instead, it attacks with the secret weapon that countered the handsome hoenn hotshot (triple h) (CIAN MAHER).

dazzling gleam blinds them all.

the coins melted. it's just a puddle of alloys in the middle of the field now.

priam pouts, but it shouldn't be seen underneath his mask.

the espeon rejoices since his trainer doesn't want him to keep using pay day anymore. it pushes the meowth away with the force so it can hit the groudon avatar and it can kill it with an earth spike by reflex.

it feels like deja vu to experience a pokemon use power gem to counter their pay day. it's probably what the people who visited father winter 2 felt.

regardless, it's not going to stop priam from using his strat.

pay day comes out as the third move of the match. coins spray out all over the meowth, and priam watches where the coins fall so he can make an efficient pick up routine later once matias is out of sight.

after seeing who his next match is, priam rolls up with sunglasses, a face mask, a cap, and a coat over his sygna suit. it shouldn't be conspicuous since hoenn's weather is now fucked up.

"h-hey," he calls out. "nice to meet you. i'm conrad."

matias has already known him as priam since he uses his first name at the lab, but conrad, while still known as his surname, was the name he uses for strangers.

it casually comes out of him as an involuntary response to self-introduction.
