ever so courteous, priam acknowledges his opponent's wishes. they can make it quick as long as they keep it simple, he believes, and that's what he's going to do.

the espeon starts off with the only opener they've been doing the entire day, which is to spray the bird with coins using pay day.

he faces off against another match. both of them stand by opposite ends of the field, leaving their pokemon at the center.

"hello, hello, mister." he lets his opponent introduce themselves. "call me mister conrad. feel free to add a few nice, positive adjectives to my name, cause they're probably true."

the fantastic mister conrad does sound nice to the ears, as well as true.

his espeon yawns as it prepares for yet another tedious task. the sync from its trainer's sygna suit doesn't seem to alleviate its mood.

there's a cheeky smile that came with the sly comment, which only grew bigger once the vitals are awarded. as soon as he sees two vitals added to his total, he opens his bag and starts to collect his winnings.

"come on. it's just like collecting shells by the beach!"

nostalgic, in a sense, that it's one of the few pre-rocket activities that he still remembers.

"yeah, of course! i'm just that generous. besides, there's more matches to take."

this is his strat for every match he'll have today, which is to just use pay day on every pokemon they see.

coins keep on pelting the klefki even as the pokemon fires a flash cannon straight to the espeon. if it can survive the harsh battlefields of hoenn, it can survive this ordeal while generating coins for them.

"oh, ya, definitely, especially with my secret strat."

the fairy wind does pelt some of them back, but the real damage is done elsewhere. his eyes look at where they went, and most of it was swept away to where they would be difficult to pool in a pile later.

"aw, it's goin' to make it difficult to collect later." he leans down and picks one of the coins that landed near his feet. "can you help me collect 'em later? i can share if you want."

and the espeon adds up to the pool with another pay day.

"i'm priam!" he introduces himself with enthusiasm. "and we're goin' to start this match the right way!"

he whistles for his espeon to take the spot in the field, though the energy isn't quite matched by the pokemon. priam probably didn't even need to whistle, given that his sygna suit syncs his emotions with the pokemon already..

the psychic-type waits for the other side of the field to position themselves before it fires off the first preemptive strike of the match: a spray of coins with pay day.

"hey, you!"

a finger points to him as he calls him out. his espeon stands beside him, accompanying his trainer and the theatrics he shows unbefitting his status as a member of a criminal organization.

those people shouldn't want to catch unwanted attention, but here he was.

"i thought about it, and i realized, yeah, maybe i should get a badge from you here instead of back at your gym. that's, like, a waste of time, y'know? this is good for both of us, so really, i'm doin' ya a favor."

the jet of water hits the espeon again, interrupting their production of coins. there's already so much coins on the ground that a brief stop wouldn't hinder their operations.

another pay day is fired at the froakie as the hydro pump ends, scattering more coins in the vicinity.

even if the beedrill had its own form of attacks similar to the approach priam is taking, his espeon has a way to go against it.

"pay day! pay day!"

the same attack doesn't stop, even if the previous hits have already proven ineffective.

the psychic-type enters a showdown of whose projectiles were more effective in taking down the enemy, but coins can only get you so far in a fight where the opponent wields weapons familiar to it.
