It didn’t take too long for him to very nearly stumble on the first Pokémon that would catch his attention—and what in the name of everything holy and unholy at the same time was that?!

“Whoa!” he yelled as the funny-looking Voltorb chased after him with Electro Ball, and very nearly losing his balance caused him to smack into a nearby tree as the blur literally sped by before smacking into a nearby rock.

“Geez!” he grumbled as he pulled out a random Pokéball one-handed and tossed it forward, before seeing that it was his Camerupt, Aced.

“Whoa. Okay, uh… deal with that before it explodes!” he hollered, getting back up and getting well out of dodge range as a Rock Slide erupted around the strange-looking Voltorb.

Quick to retaliate, the strange Pokémon then charged forward again with another Electro Ball trying to whack into the Camerupt to absolutely no effect whatsoever—before an Earth Power juggled the funny Voltorb into the air as he threw the first Safari Ball one-handed.

Well, he’d found himself out here again, wondering—

Okay, okay, he was actually here for something. Something—big. And strong.

The problem was, right now it was still in a smaller form, so he’d have to raise this one to the top!

(While it was no replacement for Alfons the Golurk, he knew that somewhere, out there, the Golurk’s spirit was watching over him from the aether.)

Despite his one-armedness, he managed to fish out his wallet and rolled out the money, before getting four Safari Balls back in exchange.

(Hell, even the Safari Zone guard eyed him with some concern, but he brushed it off. He was here, he was going to be a man, hell if he had to relearn to do everything one-handed then so be it!)

And off he went into the undergrowth.

He turned around and felt his eyebrow twitch.

“Lady—” he began, looking up at the bunch of balloons before breathing out a sigh, “…do I look like a kid to you?”

…then again, for a nineteen year old he was so fucking short so it was really easy to make the mistaken assumption for that… yeah. What a mess. He sighed, before smacking his remaining arm against his forehead.

“I don’t think I can fly away. I mean, I’ve got a gimp leg and that shit’s heavy so…” he trailed off, wringing his free hand around before he realized what he came here for.

“Well… maybe you can help me with something, if you’re not too busy? I’m looking for someone.”

He was still lumbering around with one arm.

Oops.

His search for a Rotom hadn’t borne any fruit yet, so he was still… hampered… by the lack of a certain appendage. Damn, was he already starting to experience phantom limb syndrome or something—

Wait, all he needed was a second set of hands to get the shit done, right?

And then he remembered what edith joy had told him—that he wasn’t the only one who was a Joy. And so here he was.

Right in front of a… carnival theme park?

Was this right, was this where his half-sister was working at now?!

Clearly… the fruit didn’t fall too far from the tree…

Where the hell was he even going to START looking for the other family member he had in this Arceus-forsaken region?!

He never thought he’d actually find something like this place all the way out here.

Now, being from Johto he was definitely familiar with the Dragon’s Den, and was surprised to find out that there was one all the way out here in Hoenn as well.

And he was also aware of how shit-hard it was getting into the damned place because of the exclusivity of Dragon Tamer practices and all that.

But for it to be open to the public to visit? Well, sweet!

He was initially torn between whom to make the visit with, but seeing as he already had Alex Louis kitted out to perfection, he decided to bring his Feraligatr along, slipping in after most of everyone had already gone for the day.

Now, he knew that this was illegal, but hey—

Once he found himself at the bell, he made a quiet wish, before ringing it once—his Feraligatr observing all the while, look of confusion on his face.

“Wha—WHOA!” he yelled as he felt his center of gravity change, before literally flying through the air and being thrown like a ring at a carnival ring toss through an opening and getting an equally-rough landing in exchange…

“Ow,” was the next thing he managed to say because holy shit did he see stars flash and pop in front of his vision due to aforementioned rough landing—but why could he still feel that danger was there at every turn… that fucking-ass huge Corviknight-automated freak monster was still outside.

And then—he realized that he didn’t have his Golurk anymore so that was going to be one problem.

Somehow, though, he thought he’d seen Hideo Kino and Gwyar Wledig go a different direction but then—

“Well, lady, guess you’re stuck with me, but… eh, don’t worry, despite my being one-armed, I can assure you—we just need to find something that we can throw at the Corviknight to disable it. Well, something small and fast that my Steelix can chuck at its ass. I was thinking of disabling the red ‘eyes’, cuz like… did you notice how they had camera lenses in there?”

Talk about that, he did have a sharp eye for technology.

“Lemme know what you think.”

• Arashi hatches a plan. Because he wants to take that Corviknight apart and scavenge it for parts
• therefore he hatches a plan with his companion

“Language? I’m 19 and I do what I want—” he began, before the loud creaking noise caught everyone’s attention.

“Well, I’m sure we’re not dreaming anymore,” he cackled quietly to himself before said loud creaking—actually, loud crashing noise—sent the good ol’ police man flying.

Wait.

Wait, wait, wait just one second—

He then turned around, as if in slow-motion, to see the big-ass Corviknight hovering some distance behind them, before the incredibly loud screeching noise caught even him off-guard!

“OW!” he yelled, and since he only had one arm, well, he could only protect 50% of his hearing from the loud—

Squinting at the gigantic avian that was headed their way, the fact he could discern the thin lines of obvious automation from this distance meant something was definitely amiss—

“Ava! Get down here, NOW!” he shouted as he fumbled, one-handed, for the Noivern’s Pokéball and recalled her, before turning tail and preparing to get the fuck out of there.

“No need to tell me twice!” he hollered as he ran, full-tilt, catching up with the rest while some heavy, oppressive force attempted to ground the not-Corviknight to allow them time to get out of the open.

Running with his balance obviously skewed to one side would mean several things:

1. His center of gravity was well-off,
2. Dodging something that big would definitely be risky, and
3. If he tripped he’d be slowing everyone else down!

“Shit, shit, shit, SHIT!” he shouted—even though in the back of his mind he wanted to rip the automaton-avian apart for parts for his replacement arm. Damn it!

Despite the fact that he already had a rather fat bank account to his name (and a roof over his head) Arashi liked spending more time out in the world—for the world had indeed been his teacher for a good while.

There was also a call for help, since apparently a bunch of Primeape had gone bananas and needed some calming down—however knowing how pack mentality worked amongst Primeape that was going to be a bit of a problem.

Enter his Eldegoss, who conveniently knew Aromatherapy.

In order to calm the rampaging horde down, finesse of a most unusual kind was needed, and so here she was.

Although… one of the Chikorita nearby looked kind of… stoned out of it, considering that they were standing near an incense holder and it smelled kind of… strange.

While he’d been sequestered in Evergrande no thanks to his birth mother (that sucked so much ass), he’d only managed to make a getaway now—since she was apparently busy dealing with the fallout from finding out something else about their rather extended family.

Thank hell it didn’t involve him.

Now, since he’d lost his right arm he’d been going around with just one arm which proved kind of sucky, but he swore not to get another arm until he’d managed to find that Rotom (and get it installed).

Well… for now, though, he knew that John Sullivan was probably somewhere, and that the other would flip his shit (as always) if anything happened to Hideo so here we are.

“First off, what the fuck; second—holy shit I’m not dreaming, am I?” he blinked, just gaping up in fucking awe at the entire…world, that existed around them. How could something exist within the same reality as Littleroot?!

That was unbelievable in and on itself already, of course!

Far above him, Ava the Noivern circled around, humming along with the mysterious ticking noise like clockwork. Of course, the little flash of green isn’t missed by him as well, and he then attempted to point it out to his companions—

Was this another case of déjà vu?

“Hey, uhh… Mister Police Man,” he continued as he tilted his head in the Riolu’s direction, “…I think he found something.”

At the same time, Ava had also noticed it from far above (thanks avian vision) however due to the fact that the little green speck was moving so fast they would definitely need a second (or even third) opinion to check out what the fuck it was.

“We gonna look further in?”

There was also this itch to throw himself at the nearest ticking machine and take it apart, one-armedness be damned and all.

• Ava the Noivern is flying above them in recon-style
• Arashi noticed that Raki the Riolu may have spotted something (the green Zygarde cell), points it out and suggests that they follow (prompt 03 shoehorned into the narrative LESGO)

At the mention of that, his ears perked up.

“Hey, like—if you actually do, let me know? I can help you with Golett care!” he replied, turning his head to face the other so fast he thought he heard something crick in his neck.

No matter.

They were getting really close to where they had to make the delivery, anyway!

“Ooh, kebabs?” he continued as he licked his lips. “Show me where that is, I know just the place for us to get some milk tea. Or shakes if milk tea isn’t your thing.”

Come to think of it, now he was getting hungry and a rumbling noise cut through the silence… oops!

While he already had a Shelgon of his own, the last encounter was—well, there was someone looking for a Bagon, and therefore this proved to be perfect.

Of course the little draconid immediately opened fire with a Twister just as the Noivern had taken off—how rude!

“Ava! Go get ‘em!” he yelled, mopping his drenched hair from his line of sight as the Noivern took to the skies, screaming all the while as she unloaded with a Dragon Pulse of her own, which the Bagon countered with a peppering—whoa, wait a second! Flamethrower?!

Damn, whoever was getting this draconid was going to be very lucky!

“Go, go, go!” he shouted, getting the final Safari Ball ready and winding up as the two draconids exchanged blows—trading flames for draconic energy as the Flamethrower and the Dragon Pulse continued between them, an even fight all things considered.

However, the Noivern would win out, and with one last Air Slash burst, the Bagon was sent flying towards him, the red beam of light catching it before it went too far…
