Prometheus and Soul stood at the man’s side as they made their way to the exterior of Mt. Pyre, unfortunately not here on better circumstances. They were here for a job, a search and rescue mission to find some extreme sports athlete that went missing. There wasn’t much of a lead outside of this location and what the athlete was doing.

They’d have to move fast, Adam would prefer to bring this person in alive rather than having to tell a family some grim news. With Prometheus tracking the scent and Soul using his ability to track auras they should be able to find this guy no problem.

At least that was the plan and one he was sure would be successful. This wouldn’t be Adam’s first rodeo and had plenty of experience operating missions like this. He’d then send out his Noivern to have an eye in the sky to have all his options covered.

”Alright boys you know the drill. Let’s find our missing athlete and get em home.” The two canines nodded as they continued to search for their target. Before they could go too deep they would have to meet whoever he was working with for this mission.

Adam nodded in response to Freya’s question, a happy smile on his face as he was quite amused with how she was playing around with her Charizard. It was nice to see people play and get along with their Pokémon like this, especially those who people might have the perception of being above this sort of thing.

Reminds you that everyone no matter whom they are or how they grew up at the end of the day are just humans and normal people like everyone else. It warms Adam’s heart it did….or this environment was doing it he couldn’t really tell honestly.

”Yeah Soul and I were getting some training in! This place is great for endurance training and bolstering a Pokémon’s resistance to heat.” He replied, petting the Lucario at his side as he did so. The other woman seemed like she was having more of a tougher time than him or Freya. It was a bit funny though watching them, he felt bad for the poor Oricorio.

”Gotta stay in tip-top shape ya know?” And why exactly did he need to stay in tip-top shape? He didn’t have a particular reason that was some deep emotional philosophy.

Before Adam could continue a sharp feeling of pain suddenly came over him, coming from his head. Much to his surprise a Fletchinder had landed on his head and was less than gentle with its talons. ”Why hello there! Can I help you?” Adam would ask as he reached up to remove the bird from his head.

He was more than happy to indulge the bird and give it some attention but it was digging into his head. The bird fluttered off his head before he could grab it circling around above, out of his range. What a troublesome bird.

As soon as the man relaxed himself the bird took the opportunity to land again on his body but this time it was his shoulder. The expression on the bird’s face was a happy one, enjoying how it was playing with Adam.

”Ah so this is fun and games to you huh?” The man laughed, pulling out an empty capsule. ”Alright Soul next time it takes off we’re gonna battle it.” Soul nodded but that wouldn’t happen as the bird clicked the ball on its own. ”Wait what?” He most certainly didn’t see that coming.

Adam let out a hearty laugh; the girl’s reaction was wonderful! ”Oh man it’s written all over your face! You need to work on your poker game because it’s real obvious that’s what brought you here!” He whipped a tear from his eye, composing himself before he continuing.

”Phew that was a good laugh! But I’m not really here for any particular reason. Just making my way through the route, maybe train or find some Pokémon.” Speaking of which he spotted some of the aforementioned creatures not too far from where they were, two interesting ones at that.

”Managed to run into Noelle, girl’s a handful as always.” His focus was still on the Pokémon that appear, his eyes not moving away from them. ”Still training to become a Dragon Master like your boy toy? Why don’t you show me your stuff with handling one of these mons?”

Dragon boot camp [Mission]

Adam was astounded that the girl actually managed to make her way over here but whatever amazement he might have had was quickly washed away once the whole situation was put into context. The man shook his head, a bit of a laugh escaping him despite him figuring he should be scolding the girl.

”Yeah she’s mine.” He laughed, wondering how much trouble she caused. ”Of course they were staring at you dummy; it ain’t like this your backyard or something.” He dismissively waved his hand at the thought of them having any other sort of reaction to her.

He shook his head again, this time at the way Noelle introduced herself. ”Ah yes cause this makes things so much better.” Well there was no point in dilly dallying here anymore so Adam began to move.

”Mind showing us where our students are? I’d rather get things started.” The silver-haired male was looking forward to doing some teaching. And honestly he was more curious as to the type of people that would be showing up. With him there was a good chance that his style of teaching was more so just having fun and messing with the students.

The buttler was more than happy to show them where they needed to go and more than happy to throw Noelle at someone else so they would deal with her. ”Thanks!” Adam would say before turning the prospects in front of him. They had a decent sized group, nothing they couldn’t handle but they sort of looked like they were out of their wits.

If they weren’t prepared for what they were about to get into then they were in for a rude awakening. ”Look alive boys and girls! Today we’re going to whip you rookies into shape! And you better count yourselves lucky as you’ve got yourself a bonafide celebrity here!” He was of course referring to Noelle.

”This is Noelle Bellemoore, the Dragon Priestess of Blackthorn and heiress of the Bellemoore family. Lucky for you she decided to help train you today so count your blessings! She knows more about training and handling dragons than you know how to tie your own shoes so give her the utmost respect and listen to what she has to say.” He’d then turn to Noelle.

”Why don’t you take the lead here?” Curiosity is what drove this decision. Teaching was something Adam was used to seeing how someone else handled it would be fun.

Deep into the route Adam came across a sight that he wasn’t really expecting to see today. A face that he hadn’t seen in a while stood before him…well she was doing her best to stand. It was sort of easy to tell that she was out of breath and exhausted.

”Man I’ve just been running into everyone it seems nowadays!” Seriously was there some sort of class reunion that he hadn’t heard about or something? Familiar faces were popping up left and right nowadays but I guess he shouldn’t be that surprised, Hoenn was sort of the place to be recently.

Looking the woman over again he folded his arms and rose a brow. ”Been pushing yourself a bit much there?” He’d ask, concerned for her well being. ”Barely look like you can stand up. Maybe you should take a seat?”

Given who this was Adam sort of doubted she’d take the advice and it would come down to her body making the decision to plant her on the ground. ”What’re you doing out here anyway? Not just this route but in Hoenn? You’re not chasing after Mateo are you?”

That klutz of a trainer this Deino had must be as bad at training her Pokémon as she is at finding her way around because this little shit is a terrible living being. Whatever she was doing she had to change things up because if he continued to be like this she’d run into a hell of a lot more problems than she was having now.

Speaking of which, Sun wondered how this woman was even able to handle such a terrible bastard like this. Did she have another Pokémon that was watching over Nero to make sure he didn’t cause any trouble? She had to.

And with the Deino’s last comment the straw and finally broken the Camerupts back. Sun said nothing and instead hit the dragon with one hell of a Mach Punch. ”Alright then, lizard.” Sun began walking toward the Deino after the attack.

”Let’s play!” He growled. At this point the Monferno didn’t care too much about getting into trouble, someone had to teach this baby dragon a lesson.

Adam was currently making his way though route 115. Not only just to take in the sights but the route was a good connection between the city of Rustboro and Meteor Falls so any time he was in the area and wanted to take a shortcut to either place he would just cut through here.

However, almost every time he did he often forgot how much going up and down one did traveling here, constant hills and cliff-sides. It made for a good workout so he wasn’t complaining too much and hey if in the process he found some wild Pokémon or battled some trainers that would be great.

He needed to get around to battling more. While he did keep up with his training and was consistent there it didn’t mean much if he could flex his results and duke it out with some unsuspecting sucker-or erm a fellow respectable trainer!

In all honestly it was that battler in his blood that always thirsted for battle regardless of how much time had passed or how much of a changed person he is compared to his younger days. There were just some things in this life that never truly changed no matter what you did and this was one of those things.

”Hey don’t beat yourself up about it. Maybe the Snorlax isn’t that into this kind of music.” Adam at least thought the girl played well. But seeing as that didn’t seem to work they would have to go with plan b, it was time for Adam to get in on the action. The man was excited; it had been a while since he played anything so it was time to shake some rust off and rock!

Adam started to walk back toward the truck as Avery spoke. ”Eh I’m sure we’ll be fine! Worst case scenario we fight a giant Snorlax! Sounds kind of fun actually.” He said calling back to her as he got back to the truck.

Much to his surprise there were other people who had set up some instruments. A pair of old men had set up a drum set and the other held a bass. ”Huh we’re like a legit band now, ain’t we?” He scoffed, not sure where these crazy old men had come from.

”Ah what the hell the more the merrier right?!” Adam got into position. Funnily enough another person was walking around handing out ear plugs to make sure no one went deaf today. Adam took a deep breath, it was do or die time and honestly he hoped he remembered how to play.

”Alright boys let’s fucking do this! THREE…TWO…ONE!” It was a bit awkward at first but once Adam got into that groove it was like riding a bike. And boy was this shit loud, they had turned the area into a live rock concert and their playing wasn’t half bad.

It was definitely the type of music your stuck up parents would hate and think it was nothing more than just “noise”. The only one Adam was concerned with putting on a good show for was the Snorlax and the big boy was moving.

The tension in the air was thick as the giant Pokémon stood up, glaring down at the people below. That tension was quickly lifted as the Snorlax seemed to like the music, the damn thing started to head bang to it for Christ’s sake.

Once they were done playing and the Snorlax seemed to be in good spirits it was time to get the big boy outta here. ”Okay big guy I’m glad you enjoy the music but we need to get you somewhere else. Can’t be sleeping in the city like this.” The Snorlax seemed sort of embarrassed to have caused such trouble. They’d make sure that the Snorlax got relocated somewhere safe.

It was time to pack things up and head on home. Today had been productive and whatever stops they had in their training was worth it so all in all a good ass day. But today wasn’t quite over just yet there was one more thing they were going to have to tackle.

Their final sudden appearance would be a Growlithe and one that looked like it had seen its fair share of battles. ”Well hey there pup! How can I help you?” Adam already knew the answer to that question, he could tell by the look in the Growlithe’s eye that it was aching for a battle.

”Oh so it’s going to be like that huh? Alrighty then! I’ve got no problem with that.” And it seemed like the Pokémon had also already picked its opponent as well. The Growlithe was staring daggers at Soul.

”Man I don’t know what’s up with you lately and fire types but they seem to all have it out for you buddy.” Adam remarked, looking back to his Lucario who accepted the Growlithe’s challenge and step towards it. The Growlithe already looked to be on the attack, charging at Soul as its body began to become engulfed in flames.

”alright then, detect!” A simple order but a powerful one as the move allowed Soul to completely avoid the Growlithe’s attempt at a Flame Wheel causing the pup to miss its mark. ”Now counter with Extreme Speed.” And as quick as the Lucario was on the defensive it was now time to change it up.

And what felt faster than a blink of an eye the Lucario vanished and reappeared on the other side of the Growlithe the pup only seconds after reacting the flurry of attacks Soul unleashed. The Growlithe was one heck of a scrapper as it managed to regain its footing.

It retaliated, going for a Crunch attack. ”Let’s wrap this up with an Aura Sphere.” The commanded attack clashed with the Growlithe and once the smoke cleared up it was obvious who the victor was. Impressed with the performance by the fire type Adam threw an empty capsule at it in hopes of catching it.

Before Adam could get comfortable another Pokémon appeared, this time it was a Rapidash. But something about this Rapidash wasn’t right; the Pokémon was walking with a limp! It’s front right leg seemed beat up, probably from a battle.

Adam hoped it was just from a simple fight with another wild Pokémon and not some sort of poacher or anything like that. ”Woah there! You can’t be running around on that banged up leg!” The Rapidash had run into the area only stopping due to from what Adam could figure the pain its leg was causing it. He cautiously walked up to the Pokémon, trying to appear as least threatening as he could.

”Soul, get over and help out will ya?” The silver-haired male called out to his Lucario, the Pokémon quickly coming to the man’s side. ”Use Heal Pulse on that leg.” He ordered, walking to where he left his bag to pull out some medical equipment. The Rapidash was tense at first, almost lashing out at the man and the Lucario but after the Lucario began to heal the Rapidash the Pokémon calmed down.

As Soul did his magic Adam was busy wrapping some bandages around the Pokémon’s leg. ”Soul’s work should be all you really need but this will help with any sort of swelling or residual pain. And it’s biodegradable so no need to worry about the trash.” He’d flash the horse Pokémon a bright smile.

After both of their work was done the Rapidash was on its way, seemingly in higher spirits which brought another smile to Adam’s face.

While they were going at it their training had, unsurprisingly, garnered some attention. Whether it be people passing by who were curious as to what they were up to or the occasional Pokémon that was wondering what all the ruckus was, Adam was used to stopping and going at this point to handle whomever might have showed up. This time a cute little Tepig was watching the group as it was passing on through. ”Hey there little buddy!” Adam said as he approached the curious piglet.
