“These lava cookies are awful,” and Bailey Cooper would know.[break][break]

She had been born and raised in Lavaridge. After all those years, she knew what their renown treat tasted like. A good lava cookie was enough to earn the envy of any citizen of Hoenn. A good lava cookie was complex in both texture and in subtleties... and it tasted nothing like the dry, stale, hunk of charcoal that had greeted her tongue. [break][break]

Bailey should have known better. Lava Cookies were best when fresh. If they were left to sit, they became all weird and crumbly. The “cookie” in her mouth had been wrapped in several layers of plastic wrap; a good sign for every cookie except a lava cookie.[break][break]

Yet, despite the bland flavor, she continued to chew through her bite, acting as if nothing were amiss. Leaning against a railing, Bailey could overlook the entire ocean. The beach at the bottom of the cliff was dotted with tall crags that were soon to be beaten by the rising waves. Mossdeep was pretty sweet.[break][break]

All the while, Tink the Togekiss stared at her trainer, asking with her eyes why Bailey would have kept eating the stupid cookie if it tasted so bad. “It was free.” Tink should have been used to this. With a theatrical spin, the fairy brought one of her wings to her forehead as if she were a woman in the 1800s that suffered from hysteria. The next moment? She flung herself from the railing to fall to her doom–[break][break]

Nah. Not really. Tink had wings. The Togekiss was just fucking around.[break][break]

After catching an updraft that rose from the sea breeze, Tink returned back to her perch. She was graceful, as ever. Bailey gave a polite golf clap, unable to speak with the hunk of charcoal in her mouth. With another swallow, the young woman had finished her meal and wondered if it had been safe to ingest. Oh well.[break][break]

“Let's see if we can spy some Wailmer,” because, apparently, that was what people in Mossdeep did in their spare time. “If this is an elaborate joke, I'm gonna be pissed.”

Emotions flickered underneath the Marowak's helmet constantly moving between some sense of understanding and disappointment, though managing to linger on the latter as the pokemon followed his trainer toward the evening sun. The taste of blood on his lips and hazy vision were prime, but the burning of the scar across his face trumped anything else he managed to feel despite the wound's age. Hindsight was oft said to be 20/20 but with his business finished everything only blurred further.[break][break]

"Don't give me the fucking look."

The ghost type can smell the liquor on his breath every so often the metallic jingle of a flask in his jacket would shake with his steps sounding almost like a set of keys as they scrapped against a pocket knife that'd found more than it's fair share of use recently.

In truth the Marowak understood the man's plight more than any other. It's why they worked well together they were the same. It's why the fire pokemon never gave the man's empty threats a second thought. They needed each other.

Eventually they reach a bluff overlooking the sea. Mossdeep was a good place to be buried.

As the thought comes the chestnut haired man collapses against the railing overlooking the sea crystal eyes catching the gaze of the only other in the area.

Revali is unconscious.[break]
Oz is speechless.

There were tower viewers that ran parallel to the railing. With a quarter, someone could stare through the telescope and try to spot the illusive whale-like pokemon as they swam alongside the beach. Something about the water attracted them at this time of year; pods of whailmer were always a fun sight to see. It was even better if a wailord was not far behind.[break][break]

Bailey Cooper was fixated by the side of the machine, fussing with the quarter slot when the man stumbled up to the railing. She was smacking a hand against the machine, trying to disengage the quarter that it had taken; leave it to Bailey to use the one tower viewer that wasn't working. “...Uh?” His expletive had distracted her from her attempts to retrieve her money. The next second? The man had doubled over, almost conking his head on the rail as he went down, leaving his pokemon to stand there, dumbfounded.[break][break]

Did she just watch someone die?[break][break]

“Wow. What a mood,” and that was when Tink started to beat her trainer, whapping Bailey upside the head with her large, pearly wings. “Ow! Ow! Okay, okay!” Bailey disengaged from the tower viewer, abandoning her change as she approached the fallen man and his dumbfounded pokemon. The smell of alcohol wafted in the air as if it were a mist. The girl crinkled her nose at the familiar scent. Maybe, when she was done with this strange situation, she could hit up a bar... which was a very strange urge.[break][break]

“Uh... you need help?” She asked the Marrowack, pointing a finger at the passed out man. The ghost-type seemed like it was used to this bullshit.

Oz makes sure to waste time moving underneath his trainer attempting to throw an arm over the shorter pokemon's shoulder. If it wasn't so sad it'd be comical. [break][break]

The girl goes mostly ignored the pokemon only slightly less stubborn than the trainer in question it's only when he realizes the trainer isn't going far only then does he nod the woman forward albeit hesitantly though the pokemon does make an effort pointing it's bone intimidatingly at the girl if only for a moment. Before pointing it to a lighthouse on toward the coast.[break][break]

In other news the cement is cool and if he wasn't unconscious Rivali would think it felt rather nice.[break][break]

Bailey raised her hands when the Marowack pointed his weapon; she exposed that there were no tricks up her sleeve. Her expression is nonchalant. She kept her cool. [break][break]

“Tough guy, huh? I can respect that,” and her hands were easily returned to the comforts of the plush wool that lined the inside of her jacket's pockets. Pokemon were supposed to be defensive of their trainers; it showed that they cared.[break][break]

Well, that was usually the case.[break][break]

The pokemon gestured behind her, where the road ran up a tall slope to the lighthouse. It looked abandoned–had a vibe that made her think that students ditching classes would seek it out, looking to make bad decisions. Bailey would know. She had been that type of kid, once. “You'd be better off dragging his sorry ass to a drunk tank,” but the pokemon seemed too stubborn to humor her suggestion.[break][break]

Tink landed atop Bailey's shoulder. The weight of the Togekiss was only a minor inconvenience. “I'll take one side.” and, if allowed, Bailey would flank by one side of the drunk and help the Marowack host him up... to be dragged.[break][break]

She just hoped no one from the League was around to see. Right now, it could look like she was trying to dispose of a body with how unresponsive the man was.

Restless and uneasy it's a dreamless sort of sleep, you know the type. When the world is ready to face you, but you can't bring yourself to face it, not yet at least. Foreboding to say the least it's unknown how long he's unconscious before his body forces the man awake.[break][break]

The hollow sound of bone against stone is familiar regardless of how light it is. Crystal eyes move to the sound's source revealing the ghost type drumming its supposedly sacred weapon against the ground, a nervous tick of the pokemon to be sure.[break][break]

As crystal eyes fall on the dancer the pokemon takes notice simply nodding at the man before glancing toward something else in the room.[break][break]

A girl, a Togekiss and far too quickly his predicament becomes clear. Forcing himself up he first checks his person from the flask to his wallet to the knife still secure in his breast pocket. Throat dry and sporting a headache that could kill Rivali stands tall before finally speaking. [break][break]

"Don't know who you are, but if this is a kidnapping it's pretty half-assed." [break][break]

The lighthouse was creepy.[break][break]

Bailey Cooper was not surprised to see that this relic had been abandoned. There was something unsettling about the spiral staircase and the narrow passage it followed; the higher it climbed, the smaller the space became. When a room finally manifested, she was eager to dump the drunk on the closest piece of furniture. Thankfully for him, it was a bed. He could rest on the dusty sheets and she could take a chance to find some fresh air.[break][break]

There was one window. A porthole. How nautical. How nauseating.[break][break]

As she tried to pry the rusted window open, she had spared the Marowack a glance as it drummed its bone. He seemed concerned. “Don't sweat it. He'll be fine. Sick, but fine,” and with a hard yank the crusted coat of rust snapped away, allowing Bailey to catch a whiff of the fresh sea breeze.[break][break]

Time passes. She's not sure how long. Tink had taken a nap atop Bailey's shoulder, much to the Cadet's discomfort. The fairy was heavier than she seemed. The marshmallow-like complexion was a ruse.[break][break]

She leaned, gaze focused out the window. From the porthole, she could still see the beach. Heck, she had a better view than before. Maybe there was a chance to catch sight of a wailmer after all?[break][break]

But, a voice interrupted her thoughts. “Welcome back to the world of the living.” A kidnapping? Who would kidnap a full-grown man? Bailey rolled her eyes at the thought. “I was gonna take one of your kidneys, but I don't think you would have been a good candidate,” and that was when she turned her head to regard him, face split into a swarmy smile. The man was standing up and everything. Bailey had to commend him. When she woke up with a hangover, the first place she found herself was in a bathroom.
