”For the last time no I haven’t seen anything.”

Apparently someone went around telling people that there were some ruins in route 111 that held some sort of untold treasures and relics and somehow it caught enough traction to get people to actually go out there.

Samuel had just happened to be passing through but was stopped by some would-be treasure hunters grilling him about the situation.

And apparently they didn’t understand the concept of leaving someone alone after they say no.

Lucas spotted a woman off in the distance. She was talking to a fashionable group of individuals wearing cargo shorts and fanny packs all around. If Lucas didn't know any better he'd guess they were going to a party.

"Hey excuse me ma'am," he closed the gap between him and the presumed ranger. "Do you know where I can find some geodudes around here?"

”Oh what now?!” He turned to face whoever had just mistaken his gender and for a moment there he was happy someone else showed up because maybe they’d be able to save him from this.

And to add insult to injury this person was just as bad!

”First it’s Sir and second no I do not know where you can find some Geodudes around here.” There was a Solrock but a Solrock isn’t a Geodude, and besides, Samuel was going to catch that.

He sent out his Milotic to deal with it, a simple Water Pulse was enough to daze it for Samuel to go for the capture.

"Now is there something else I can help you with?"

Moving past mistaking the ranger for a woman was easy for Lucas, but learning there were no geodudes around? That was hard. He felt like a kid that was told the ice cream truck was out of ice cream. Pure devastation.

Devoted to making the drive out worth it Lucas pushes past the pain.

"Well you're capturing local pokemon, yeah?" He watches as the milotic wrought destruction upon the solrock. "How about you and me team up for a bit? We'll be like partners in crime, except we're just catching pokemon together. Give 'em the good ol' one two whenever something catches our eyes."

Samuel wasn’t so sure about Lane’s offer, looking the man up and down as he mulled it over.

”Fine, that might not actually be too bad.” Sam said, deciding that if worst comes to worst he’ll just ditch the head scientist somewhere in the desert.

”Where do you want to start? Want one of those two?” He was referring to the two Pokémon that were wandering by.
