"yeah i know your tired but c'mon we can still do a whole lot more. don't you want those medals?" as the tailwind swirled around them as they stood still on teh water's surface the sharpedo let out a huff. "ok yeah i want those medals, but c'mon don't tell me you haven't been having fun right? I know you have." the sharpedo couldn't argue with his trainer, so reluctantly he sprinted forward with quick agility, the water under him giving him a speed boost so they could zip along the man made river.

Balder Schwartz, disgraced gym leader. This Pokeathalon was really seeing Gavin rub elbows with the strangest crowds.[break][break]

Of course, he's not Gavin in the competition, but League trainer Patrick Cavalli. His Metagross hovers beside him; the pair have become a staple sight in the competition, Gavin looking more and more weather-beaten as the days wore on.[break][break]

Thankfully, the sunburn he'd received on day one has long since faded into a light tan.[break][break]

sports, sports, sports.

she's heard everything about them lately, but she never had the time to actually participate in something like this. even though she likes to think that she's pretty active, to begin with. her pokemon, even moreso, especially with the sharpedo at her side, who was raring to go racing in the water with another shark pokemon.

he sat in the water, waiting for the trainer to hop on. "lets not lag behind, okay?" she asks with a small smile, but the dark pokemon only rolls his eyes and jets himself forwards, catching up with the other airborne and waterborne pokemon. he pops off agility, taking advantage of the tailwind, and speed boost slapped on at the beginning without his trainer's command.

so she had to hang onto dear life.

That... That was a Royal Fuck up. Hitting that rock right at the start slowed both of them down. While Yanmega had flew right over it, it was kind of hard for Balder to do the same. He had to get back up and get around it as quickly as possible. As Balder caught up to Yanmega, it was time to step it up. "Get fired up Yanmega! PSYCH UP!" As the Yanmega copied the stats of Sharpedo, the duo proceeded to accelerate. Hopefully this will work.[break]

the duo surfed along the waters, this time adding some style to their routine as they jumped over some waves and kazimir somehow managed to do some sick kick flips on a sharpedo. don't ask him how he learned to balance himself like that he doesn't know either. perhaps it was the adrenaline pumping in his veins. the duo then saw a large wave coming at them and like the surfers of old rode inside of it as kaz swiped his hand through the clear water and let out a loud cheer of victory as they came out of it unscathed.

this was revenge. this was definitely revenge.

revenge for letting her dress him up earlier. revenge for trying to coo and trying to make him look pretty. it was definitely revenge, and he knows well that revenge is a dish best served cold. in this case, with the splash of water and droplets flying from the track into her face.

"w-wait, slow down..!" and despite the trainer's protests, the sharpedo disregards her words and pops off a second agility, pushing through the water and at a higher speed.

while she hangs on for dear life. again.

The previous acceleration didn't grant for much, sadly. While it did provide enough time to get some sun tanning on his back, the sppeed boost wasn't enough to allow them to propel forward much faster. Thus... Dire situations requires extreme measures. Yanmega decided to use Air Slash in front of them, hopefully creating a sort of vacuum and reducing air resistance so that the duo could advance faster.[break]
