Much like its opponent, Sableye is pushed to the last fumes in its tank. The last MOONBLAST deprives the ghost of its stamina and health, leaving it susceptible to fainting in any second now.

Its footing is threatened, its stance wavers - but it manages to stand still.

It huffs, refusing to succumb to its injuries— but it fails to attack back, as well. However, whether if it’s due to a lack of trying or simply because it’s incapable of doing so remains a mystery.

“That’s enough, Amethyst.” Katherine signals for the gem-ghoul to stand down, and it plops down on the ground without a second thought. Her eyes then avert from her partner to Valerio, a neutral expression maintained.

Fortunately for her, he wasn’t a stranger. She didn’t have to pretend to be so cheerful and happy all the damn time.

“The badge is yours.” She says, after closing the distance between them and magically retrieving the piece of accessory from somewhere. ”Your Altaria is a fighter. If it ever comes down to it, I am certain they won’t disappoint you.”

zeus races with time before exhaustion gets the best of him but it seems Katherine Fairburne's sableye manages to beat him with it. the ghost succumbs after the gym leader marks it, plopping into the ground before she recalls him.[break][break]

the altaria, in response, falls down but with a satisfied smirk in its face. the challenger recalls him as well.[break][break]

“well, he still needs training, right?” his smile is shy as he retrieves the badge. it flashes before him with the lights that continue to hit upon them: his second badge. “i'm happy to be of your service, ms. fairburne. if this badge does give me some sort of premonition, i see rocket's bright future with you around.”[break][break]
