It was time to face her fears. The Spinarak hanging just above the trail they walked seemed so sure of itself there. It didn't care one bit that it was impeding the way! Before Remiel caught up, Poppy was determined to be tough and ROAR the bug away. She tried once, but hadn't gathered her breath long enough to really do it well.[break][break]

So, after swallowing in a big gulp of air, she tried again... only to croak. The Spinarak had DISABLED her roar. Thankfully, before Remiel could see, the bug climbed back up and out of sight. Poppy could swear she'd heard it giggling.[break]

The Morpeko were back, and this time in greater number. They giggled mischievously as they hid in the trees and bushes, firing BULLET SEED at Poppy from every direction. Timid and submissive, the big dog cowered and flinched whenever she was hit. When a stray seed struck Remiel's hand, however, her expression suddenly morphed from fear to anger.[break][break]

Using her QUICK FEET, the Granbull charged towards the closest Morpeko she could sniff out. They all scattered from their hiding places like cockroaches in light, running for their lives as the dog chased. One of them, however, had accidentally tangled itself in some branches. Poppy held this one down with her paws and gave it a ROAR to the face.[break][break]

When Remiel caught up, he acknowledged the Morpeko's peculiar color and pulled out an empty ball. "Well done, Poppy."[break]

Pleased with herself for the previous capture, Poppy pranced alongside Remiel as they walked through the foggy forest. When a Shinx crossed the trail ahead, however, she was immediately conflicted about chasing after it or not. As far as she could tell, her master didn't care for it. He simply kept walking ahead. So that was what she did as well.[break][break]

The Shinx, not caring to stick around with a dog approaching closer every second, bounded off without delay soon thereafter.[break]

Poppy yelped and whimpered when the HAIL began to fall, pelting her while she scrambled for cover. Remiel sighed and merely winced as he rose an arm to shield himself. A few paces ahead, and he found the case for this weather: a Castform dancing in a clearing in the middle of the forest. He turns to his dog, who has curled up beneath a canopy of branches and leaves.[break][break]

"The sooner you take that Castform down, the sooner the hail stops." He states, waiting for the Granbull to build up her courage and heed his call. Before long, however, the sun parts the clouds. The hail stops. And he turns to find the Castform gone.[break]

The titillating melody of a ROUND was what drew the cowardly Granbull closer to the water to investigate. Remiel, curious to see what was singing himself, followed behind not long after. When they exited the boundaries of the forest and came upon the riverbank, they found a Tympole sitting on a moss-covered rock just past it. Its eyes were closed as it sang over the sound of the rushing water.[break][break]

Then, rather abruptly, Poppy sneezed. And, without even looking back to see its audience, the Tympole dove into the river without hesitation and disappeared within seconds, never to be seen again.[break]

Sunlight shines through the branches and the leaves obscuring the sky above them. It is only through this filter of light that Remiel can discern the many thin threads of web criss-crossing above each other in the trees. Upon closer inspection, he could see that these threads were laced with a thin layer of poison.[break][break]

Whichever Spinarak had set this deadly trap of TOXIC THREAD, Remiel couldn't help but appreciate its handiwork. But it would go wanting if it expected either him or his Granbull to walk right into it.[break]

The sunlight above intensifies without warning. What was once a timid peek through the tapestry of clouds above has become a righteous judgement of heat. Poppy is rendered panting like never before, tendrils of saliva dripping out from the sides of her mouth and nearly dissipating before they can hit the ground below.[break][break]

The pair never notice the Castform hiding in the bushes nearby. They are too preoccupied with the heat it has caused.[break]
