Once again, the scarred man found himself traveling from one side of hoenn to the other. A quick stop at mt chimney before heading below to the underground tunnels of the fiery path. It was here were the man took the time to really think about what he should do. With the war and everything that has been, Maverick really needed to think if this was what he really wanted to do. Warm gaze flickered to Azula as she stood proudly by his side, nose lifted to the still warm air that was trapped within it. Her nostrils flared, scenting the area. “I just don’t know Azula,” he mumbled to the creature as he pressed forward, hand extended out to brush her side, “It’s a big decision to make.”[break][break]

The canine’s muzzle parted ever so slightly to let loose a slow and soft howl that still echoed off the walls before she turned to look at him. A hint of a grin tugged the edges of his lips, warm crimson colored orbs brighten as he looked into her eyes. In her eyes, he could see the drive to battle and to win. The heart beat that wanted to be the best of the best. A chuckled escaped him as he turned back to the beaten trail, continuing the venture further into the fiery path. He lightly tapped her twice and she began the hunt to find a wild pokemon. The man sighed, still lost within his own thoughts.

It wasn’t the first time he had ever done this sort of thing. But yet, something didn’t feel right about it. In fact, the scarred male worked for seven long years back home to become a gym leader. It was his dream to be the best dark type gym leader the world has even known. And of course, his bad luck had cursed him when he finally achieved his dream. After working seven years to earn the title of gym leader and taking over the gym, three month passed and his home was destroyed later deemed not fit to live forcing him to leave everything behind. Even in his short term of gym leader back there, he never once had a challenger. So really, was he ever a true gym leader? Now the opportunity had risen again for him to be a gym leader. Should he take it?[break][break]

Another long over exaggerated sigh escape Maverick has he followed his canine without much thought. It was only when his canine suddenly stopped in her tracks and a low vicious snarl ripped through the air that the man snapped out of his daze. He blinked, gaze flickered from left to right trying to understand what has gotten Azula so high alert. She let out another wave of warning snarled, long ebony arrow tipped tail twitched with irritation. After a minute and nothing appearing, his brows scrunched in puzzlement. “What?” He growled, not seeing what she was so upset about, “What is it?” The houndoom let out a few sharp barks, snapping at the air in front of them. But before Maverick could question her again, the canine sent a stream of flames from her muzzle.[break][break]

Something screeched before her. And when the flames disappeared, a shadowy figured appeared only to solidified into the ghost and poison type known as Haunter. It cried out in pain as it fell to the ground out cold. “Oh,” the man mumbled as the dark and fire type inched closer and sniffed it. It moved slightly and scared Azula as she snarled and leaped forward with a crunch. “Chill!” He hollowed as she backed away, “Its out already.” The canine growled still. Rolling his eyes, the man tossed the ball to capture the creature to calm her down. The ball hit, sucking the creature in without much resistance. “I guess that’s good enough today,” the man sighed, waiting for the confirm capture, “I kinda don’t feel like it today. My head is not here today.”
