From a distance, neither party seems interested in the other, ready to strike should the other get to close, but there's no intention to follow up with such a conflict. Since the Pokemon is by itself, Fernando ignores it, keeping a watchful eye to see if any others remain nearby.

So far so good.

[attr="class","spiral"]His next encounter is with something that isn’t a poison type whatsoever. That’s enough to solidify his opinion on the area and disregard it as a disaster zone. How lucky.

“Hmm.”

Fernando releases his Zerora and watches as the Pokemon acclimates itself to a new environment. He’s let it wander within the confines of his own Gym and other buildings but it’s time outside has been limited due to his own schedule. After a few seconds, he points at the Umbreon before instructing.

“Battle routine set.”

The Pokemon looks dumbfounded, recognizing the phrase but not the connotation behind it.

“Execute.”

It continues to stare at him before scratching behind its ear absentmindedly.

“…”

He rolls his eyes before bringing out his Pokedex. Due to the diligence of the other Zerora owners, the League has some semblance of the Pokemon’s abilities and attacks. Several are recorded including one that’s yet to be documented.

“PLASMA FIST,” he reads off. The Zerora still lingers but eventually approaches the Umbreon. With an attack that somewhat resembles a THUNDER PUNCH, the Pokemon begins to wrestle with the opposing Umbreon. A few well placed punches causes it to bark in return, biting in retaliation, but the Zerora proves too tenacious to give up.

“Good job,” he congratulates in monotone before tossing a Pokeball.
