Sometimes, Kyle's jokes are funny. Other times, they're so left field that Fernando doesn't get them in the slightest. Not that he'll ever admit it. So, with a pensive gaze, Fernando tries to play it off as if he's in disapproval at the crassness of his joke.

This little mishap leads to him actually stepping on it, squashing it beneath him, as he tries to play it off before Kyle can realize he's actually beating up a Pokemon on his own accord. A quick boot to the Pokemon's invisible body, and Fernando pretends to drop his Pokeball, allowing it to suck up his last capture in their endeavor.
