However, the events of The Ultra Beast War have revealed deep-running caverns in the lower levels. The corridors ring hauntingly with odd winds, and as human-made constructs turn into earth and stone, your party reaches a dead-end. Your EXPLORER KITS and Pokemon should be able to help you. The company has encouraged the most intrepid and capable of trainers to dig deeper with their Pokemon, after all.[break][break][break]

Should you break down the walls, perhaps, you'll find treasures to take home for yourselves. In order to receive a treasure, you must fully reveal it by breaking all the tiles they are contained in; however, you can only break down 3 tiles per floor. So, choose which tiles to break wisely![break][break][break]

If a tile says requests for a type, all moves used must be of that type unless otherwise specified. If a tile asks for a particular power value, you must hit that value exactly (e.g. total 260 - all of your moves added together, must total 260 power).[break][break][break]

She didn't know how she was roped into this. Perhaps it was the thrill of adventure or the guilt of not being in the war? Either way, she'd do her damnest to help. Releasing her Mudsdale from his Pokeball, she'd order him to move first. The center wall looked a bit... less sturdy than the rest.

"Earthquake" she says, patting the shire horse. He'd move forward, stomping his hoof. A crack formed along the ground and to the wall, breaking a sizable chunk of it. "good job; just don't use all your strength" Wren smiles at the equine "we wouldn't want to be buried." There was the threat of a cave-in but if Shire did his job well, then... no loss right?

Moving back, she'd let one of her teammates take over.

She had to admit, exploring these strange caves was infinitely more appealing than staring at the scars that the recent war had left upon the surface. Of course, the temptation to explore the caves in Meteor Falls existed, but... Perhaps not quite yet. She still remembered seeing all those rangers who didn't quite make it, stuck within that cave... Not the time. [break][break]

Luckily, Mauville didn't hold any emotional connection to her, even if the war had indeed somehow reached all the way this far inland. Regardless, she was exploring with a few familiar faces, a large flashlight in hand with an even larger safety helmet atop her head. [break][break]

Upon coming to this specific section in the wall, Ruby smiled as she sent out her Aggron. The last time he had been out was on the Tower Challenge, and he had done amazingly there. The shy Aggron looked around curiously, only for Ruby to gently gesture towards the wall. "Come on big guy, BULLDOZE gently for us, will you?" [break][break]

With a quiet cry of acknowledgment, the heavy pokemon surged forwards and began to shove the ground quite literally out of the way as best as it could.

Thank the fuck they weren’t at Meteor Falls.

Going back to the same place where he had witnessed so much death first hand would be an irony in and on itself because, who would want to poke around and dig up items that belonged to dead colleagues? And then take them for oneself?

Seriously?

Mercifully he was with someone he knew—the pink-haired girl who’d helped him get the space cannibal general stabilized and—

Wait, shit, his mind was going wild places again. Blinking in order to erase the disturbing mental image that was rising in his mind, he threw a certain containment unit forward, watching his Garchomp emerge from the depths.

“Hit the same thing everyone’s hitting. Dig away at it for us.”

With that the Garchomp was off, brandishing its claw-limbs and hacking away at the portion of wall in front of them.

Was exploring those tunnels really such a good idea? Especially with they way they were discovered? The one in mauville was found in the destroyed powerplant after a weird shadow creature came out, according to the reports. Who knew what else could be found deep down? At the same time, maybe that was why they asked trainer to go?[break][break]

And luckily for this group, they had 3 powerhouses. The Saint of Slateport, Ruby Walker. The Salty Head Ranger, Laurence "Lars" Anderson. And the Ex- Man of Steel, Balder Schwartz. 3 trainers that had recognition in the League, proven their mettle and were able to handle multiple threats. Exploring the caves? This will be a cinch.

As everyone struck the wall with a combo of Earthquake, Bulldoze and dig, Balder stepped forward with his Lairon. "Tetsu, finish cleaning it up." The beast nodded as it proceeded to unleash Mud-Slap to try and clear the dirt away from the remains of the wall.[break][break]

... Yet, for some reason, the wall was still standing. The Alolan Man sighed as he took off his shirt. "Alright stand back. I'll finish it... HAH!" Upon taking a stance he had learned during his martial training with a certain old man, the man released all the air in his lungs with a shout as he punched the wall, directing his energy into it to make it crumble.[break]

So far, nobody had bothered to speak to her. It was all work and focus. She didn't seem to mind this, if not for the fact she already felt like the odd one out. Recalling Shire, she'd pull out her Lucario. The next wall looked sturdy enough for his fists.

"Meteor Mash, please" she says softly to Lennox. He glances at her, the people around them and nods. Preparing his fists, he'd leap at the wall with a swift punch to it. It doesn't really fall, but it does crack. "good job." Wren says from behind him, smiling. She hoped the others didn't mind she had picked this wall.

“You may want to get out of the way, this is going to be pretty… tight,” Lars rumbled as he realized what they were going for next. Once he was sure everyone had backed away enough, he plucked a battered-looking Heavy Ball and popped it to full size.

The moment his hulking silver companion appeared, he pointed.

“Upper-left. Meteor Mash. Don’t bring the entire place down, though.”

With a grating noise, the silver Metagross went to work, gathering enough energy and lobbing a Meteor Mash at the previous spot that had been targeted by the Lucario.

Now, wouldn’t it be hilarious if Balder and Ruby brought out Metagrosses of their own and literally smashed the wall? Such subtlety.

“Okay, go,” he gestured, patting the silver beast momentarily before recalling him to give enough room to whoever would go next.

Metagross used Meteor Mash! (90BP)

"Seriously Laurence? Feels like we're going to run out of space really soon..." said Balder as he saw Lars pull out a Metagross... just like what the Alolan man was doing. While it wasn't Shiny like the Head Ranger's, but the light still reflected on the metallic blue surface of the psychic creature.[break][break]

Following the other Metagross and the Lucario's action, Silver proceeded to use his own Meteor Mash to try and break the wall, at the same location as the others struck previously. The alolan man proceeded to turn around and look at Ruby. "It's your turn, Saint of Slateport. Finish the job." For the sake of space, Balder recalled both the Lairon and the Metagross.[break]

It was easy to just focus on the exploration aspects, to simply zone out and focus on breaking away rock wall after rock wall. It was fun, honestly. Seeing what they suddenly uncovered after breaking down the wall. Who knew all this stuff was just down here? Surely after everyone else explored these tunnels, people would begin to bleed them dry of all their fancy goods. [break][break]

Ruby couldn't help but simply stand back and chuckle as the other two men tossed out Metagross of their own. "Well, it's uh, going to get even more crowded." She laughed quietly as she sent out a Metagross of her own, Psyborg was quite reliable. He stood strong and firm, waiting for orders as he stared at the wall in front of them.[break][break]

"Meteor Mash, let's finish this one and move on to the next!" Psyborg quickly got to work, charging forwards and slamming its body against the wall with intense force.

As the debris spray cleared out, more of the wall was exposed—and there was something that fell out of the bedrock. It was a—wow.

“Well, look what the cat dragged in,” he remarked as he pointed to the fossil. “Guess we all get a new companion or something.”

Looking at the available options… there was something that nagged at him about the top middle segment. Hmm…

“Step back,” he rumbled as he pulled out another Pokéball and threw it forward. Watching as Thor, his Electivire emerged, he pointed at the segment he was contemplating.

“This is gonna be incredibly stupid, but… Thor! Aim a precise Thunderbolt there. Right where I’m pointing.”

The Electivire punched his fists together before winding up and releasing a potent blast of electricity. While Electric-type attacks weren’t normally as effective on the bedrock, it… sort of? Gave way? Or was he just imagining things.

Electivire used Thunderbolt! (90BP)

She was going to do her best. That meant bringing out her best. Recalling the Lucario, she released her Lycanroc. After the man ordered an electric type move, she would turn to her wolf. "Thunder Fang" he looked puzzled actually, staring at Wren and to the wall. "y-yeah..."

She prompts him again, and the wolf moves forward. He lunges at the wall, the flash of an image overgrown fangs combined with electricity rose into the air. They opened wide before crunching down. Lo and behold, the wall moves a bit. She grins at Hannibal before he returns to her side, wagging his tail over a job well done.

Breaking the part of the wall with steel moves had been successful, but it wasn't enough. They still had the possibility to dig further in, but a part of the wall had caught the man's interest. And not just his own, as the others started attacking it with electric moves. Wouldn't that be illogical from a miner's viewpoint?[break][break]

Well it seemed like something was reacting to these attacks, as the rocks and dust were slowly falling off. Definitely worth adding more to this. As the others finished their attacks, Balder summoned his Zeraora on the field. The little cat, excited to be in the field, looked at his master with stars in his eyes,[break][break]

"Go wild and shatter that wall Zero." The cat happily meowed before covering his fists with blue electricity. Seconds later, the creature was now punching the wall where the others struck, backing away before the final attack came in.

A fossil! This was honestly quite interesting. She had never really focused much on fossils, but the sight of it was certainly something unique. If they could revive pokemon from these long-dead rocks, what could they possibly do with science? And, perhaps more importantly, how long ago would a pokemon have to be dead for it to be brought back? Or, at least, morally anyway? Food for thought.

As she noticed the electric attacks being used against the rock walls, Ruby stood dumbfounded as it began to crumble under the attacks. Something must have been reacting to it all. "Well, that's something... Huh. Nadine, let's finish this up."

She'd speak as she sent out her Alolan Raichu, the surfing pokemon lazily floating around the room with a burst of quiet laughter unique to its own. It surely found the humor in the situation as well, taking only just a few seconds as it built up its stores of electricity before firing a THUNDERBOLT straight at the wall.
