The wall crumbles after their joint efforts, revealing a new pathway. A path that seemed to hold electricity and never-ending darkness, where the light of their flashes simply got absorbed. "Surely residual energy from that cable fucker... Damn it. I hope anyone has something to get us across. I'll light the path."[break][break]

Soon after the team confirmed their plan of action, Balder summoned a Starmie he had received from someone he knew. The star-shaped creature looked around, most likely thinking "I dunno about y'all, but it's dark in here.". Balder nodded and pointed further into the darkness. Understand the wishes of his temporary master, the jewel of the Starmie began to radiate with a bright light, trying to Illuminate the path of the team.[break]

“What ‘cable fucker’ are you talking about?” Lars inquired of the other man, eyebrow raised up in question. The… ‘beast’ that him and Ruby had seen at Meteor Falls was definitely not… emitting as much electricity he’d witnessed.

The reports he received from Mauville mostly contained utter fucking bedlam; which meant to say that the entire Cycling Road had collapsed (again) but mercifully… there were almost no casualties there.

As Balder blasted the rock walls open, sparks of electricity made him recoil momentarily.

“Whoa, what the hell?” he exclaimed as he blinked. Although the path beyond was pitch black, he could still feel the hairs on the back of his neck standing up on end.

“Yikes. That’s nasty,” he rumbled, realizing what was needed.

A few moments later, his Metagross reappeared, unfolding from the beam of red light.

“Let’s go—Magnet Rise, make the place a little less… staticky.”

With a grating noise, the Metagross slammed one of its four legs into the ground, before folding its legs in and manipulating the crackling remnants of the field of electricity.

Metagross used Magnet Rise!

In a tag out, Chu-e replaced one of the girls who had been previously in this group. She had to run home and his own group had fallen apart before it even got started.

"Looks like you guys did all the hard work!" But static filled the air as he made sure his equipment was okay. He took in the other three, his face lighting up some at seeing Balder. "Hey, I know you! I owe you dinner!" He gave a little wave as he assessed the situation. He could help light the path, too, but getting all that electricity handled might be the better choice. The blond guy, who Chu-e squinted at because he seemed familiar but couldn't place him, had already done most of the work, but...

He tosses a pokeball out, calling his Ampharos. The sheep pokemon stretches out before looking shyly around. "Use a Magnetic Flux to even all that out, Kidd."

The sheep pokemon bleeted but shook her head, a crackle of electricity arcing off her yellow body and into the air. After a few moments the static seemed go stabilize. It was still too dark to see but Chu-e was sure that would be solved quickly.

Ampharos used Magnetic Flux!

Cable fucker? Ruby had to admit, she had no idea what he was talking about. Then again, maybe it was best she didn't know right now until they actually left the caves. Surely the Ultra Beasts that attacked Mauville that helped generate these caves took some wild, electrical form. Perhaps that was why Balder was blaming the magnetic field on them. [break][break]

Standing back, Ruby sent out her Stamie. It's red gem glowing bright with various colors as it ILLUMINATED the general area. Electrical sparks and various sorts of static energy was in the air, certainly not safe to cross. With the arrival of a friendly new face to assist in clearing out the energy, Ruby simply gave everyone a soft smile to everyone as it appeared the energy was subdued by the magnetic flux.[break][break]

"Well, shall we continue guys? I have to admit, I'm really curious what's further down this way."[break]

AS THE MAGNETIC FIELDS ARE NEUTRALIZED, the party forges on ahead. The ground is a mixture of steel plates, rocky ground, and black shadows. Occasionally, one would be able to spot a Probopass floating around with its "Mini-Noses" hovering about like drones. The cave seems clear of obstacles— until you encounter invisible STEALTH ROCKS.[break][break][break]

More than eager to continue, Chu-e made no qualms about stepping through the now mildly-safe cavern to explore deeper. The place was odd, what with all the steel plates and all, and made him pause at times to let his eyes chase shadows to see what they might hide.

At a noise, Chu-e glanced up and balked slightly- Probopass. "Hey, wait a sec." He grew up in Sinnoh and while these pokemon themselves were pretty docile if you left them alone, they had a bad habit to set up traps to catch prey wherever they nested. He didn't know everything about them, mostly just the catchy PSA jingles at school the Rangers would sing to them about spelunking safety. Sinnoh had caverns as major passing ports in mountains, after all.

"This might be nothing." It didn't hurt to be careful, though. Tossing out a Torkoal, which he had borrowed just in case a situation like this arose, he had it use a Rapid Spin. As expected, the path ahead of them was cleared... kind of. With so many Probopass, the Stealth Rocks were too densely packed to all be spun away. "I think we'll have to break though."

Returning the Torkoal, he examined the most densely packed area of the disturbed rocks. Another pokemon was released, a Taillow. "Hey, will you Peck that area right there?" The Taillow huffed, quite lazy, but still went to Peck the place he pointed out.

“Whoa—thanks for the heads-up there,” he said, grateful that the Rapid Spin had cleared out the—obstacles, somewhat.

Now, Lars didn’t have anything against the big-nosed Pokémon that were haunting the area, but to surround the entire place with Stealth Rock obstacles (now that he saw what the rocks for what they really were) was ridiculous.

Seeing as their companion had led the way, it was time for him to continue the onslaught.

Unballing the next…choice, he backed away as his Gyarados emerged from the flash of red light.

“What?! Kali’s the only one I have that can help us clear this shit out,” he exclaimed, hoping to cut off Balder should he complain about the size problem of the room.

“Hurricane that spot, lower-right!” he added, pointing in the same direction where the Peck attack had been thrown at earlier.

Gyarados used Hurricane! (110BP)

Probopass? What an interesting wild pokemon. Not many pokemon appeared to have facial hair, but that mustache alone was honestly rather hilarious. However, it seemed that their new companion was well aware of their trapping antics. With a peck from a Tailow and a hurricane from Lar's Gyarados, Ruby hunkered down a bit, trying to be careful of her head with such strong winds underneath the ground.[break][break]

Still, it seemed like that was the optimal solution to this problem. After all, she'd trust the Head Ranger's judgment on this. Reaching into her backpack, Ruby quickly pulled out her Pokeball and released Tranquil, the Oricorio. It almost immediately began to spin and dance around, clearly excited for a chance to be free, and in the literal spotlight as Ruby's flashlight shone atop of it.[break][break]

"Follow their lead, alright dear? Blow them away." Tranquil would spin around, waving its feather-like fingers in a dance before a sudden HURRICANE would blow straight from the little gal, dancing through the heavy winds. Of course, Ruby only hunkered down once more, keeping a close hold on the helmet on her head.[break]

A new scavenger proceeded to join them, as the lady that assisted the team hurried back home for some emergencies. With his assistance, the group was able to break through and arrive in front of a Probopass... and a wall of invisible Stealth Rocks. Even a Rapid Spin from the Torcoal was unable to break through.[break][break]

The taillow proceeded to deliver a small but piercing Peck into the wall, creating a fissure to allow their attacks to finish the part of the wall. As Lars and Ruby proceeded to use Hurricane at the crack, Balder summoned Leviathan the Gyarados. "Do it, aim at the same location."[break][break]

The wind around the Gyarados' tail began to concentrate, making the tail glow a light blue color. After charging the attack a few seconds, the creature swung his tail towards the Stealth Rock wall, sending a massive blade of wind at it. Upon colliding, the blade exploded and released the concentrated winds into the crack to force it to explode from the inside.

The piece of the wall crumbled under all the pokemon's attacks. There looked to be some goodies inside as well, showing how prosperous this cave could be. Or maybe the Probopass had been hoarding things in the Stealth Rocks for some reason? Well, either reason, they belonged to Chu-e and his new spelunking partners now. However, there was still quite a bit to destroy before they could try and move on.

"Hmmm..." Seeing another vulnerable place, Chu-e left Breeze out, pointing out the spot and directing the Taillow to attack once more. "Use Twister on that spot!" He was sure the others would pick up on what was happening pretty easy. Breezy fluttered in the air before he started to flap his wings hard, a crackling energy picking up in the small tornado he had whipped up between his wings. With a flip, he shot the twister at the wall, having it slam into the weak spot and helping to crumple it.

Taillow used Twister!

With an audible sound, the stealth rocks that formed the corner of a wall proceeded to shatter, revealing gifts held within. The team quickly collected these before preparing their assault on another location. Balder proceeded to call Leviathan back as he observed their new member focus on a new weak spot.[break][break]

It seemed like he had a good eye, since he was releasing a Twister against the opposite corner that they had just destroyed. Worth a shot. Balder summoned his Duraludon. "Tower, break it." The skyscraper dragon roared before running where the twister collided and spinning on itself to give a tail slap against the invisible rock with the move Breaking Swipe

It certainly seemed to be working! Now she wasn't exactly an expert, but the reveal of a few various goodies trapped within the walls certainly didn't seem like they were all-natural. Then again, wild pokemon could have buried them ages ago. Either way, the stealth rocks seemed to be gone in this particular area. Not that she could exactly see them, but she trusted her ally's judgment in this case. [break][break]

With her allies already moving to break another section, obviously using dragon-type moves this time. Still hunkered down and careful of her head, Ruby sent out her little Swablu. Azure floated about before landing atop of her helmeted head, whistling to itself. Apparently, they were quite the songstress! Regardless, Ruby couldn't help but laugh even as she spoke. "Come on now, we got a job to do! Dragon Breath over there, please!"[break][break]

Azure seemed content with this, puffing up its chest as it took in a deep breath of air, only to exhale a hugely powerful DRAGON BREATH, the purple beams of energy slamming into the intended target with surprising strength. Such force in such little body. [break]

Thankfully the next obstacle didn’t need for Lars to switch out his Gyarados, because everyone present was literally throwing Dragon-type attacks at another segment of the wall.

All he had to do was adjust his aim.

“Kali, lower-left! Dragon Tail, but don’t knock the entire wall down!” he continued, before the Gyarados turned back to stare at him and gave him this ‘are you serious’ look.

“You heard me. Dragon Tail, over there, where everyone else attacked it! Please!” he added a few moments later, not having time for this shit.

Huffing, the Gyarados then proceeded to throw itself against the wall, lashing out with a Dragon Tail attack. What lay underneath there? Who knew?

He watched with bated breath as the shinies were revealed...
