the silph office of hoenn had an expanse of ground that housed FERNANDO SILPH's large array of pokemon for his use. most of them get released since he's picky-- a trait that wasn't surprising for any rich kid, he supposed.

kyle cracks his knuckles as he gets to work. if the councilman did not want them, kyle can put them into better use. he better act fast with the captures though.

he was pretty sure that the invitation wasn't only given out to him though, even if he claims the elite four to be his 'best friend/. at the back of his mind, he's certain he's called other people that when it suited him.

The invitation from FERNANDO SILPH comes as a surprise, at first. But Katherine merely assumes that the councilman wants to keep a close eye on her, which she’s not opposed to.

She expects him there, but instead, a different familiar figure is spotted once she arrives. None other than Hoenn’s favorite dog collector, kyle lopez. Funny how they kept running into each other this way.

“It’s nice to see you again,” Katherine says, offering a smile. “Don’t tell me that you’ve come to look for a Poipole here of all places.”

the mightyena quickly runs off as soon as kyle releases it from its pokeball, going for the first pokemon it sees. kyle lets him be as the gym leader approaches him.

"i'm looking for other legendaries this time," he attempts to humor, though his tone comes off as dry, not having interacted socially for the longest time since the start of his day. "i heard he's had a bunch."

the mightyena comes back with an entire yanma in its mouth. kyle cringes in disgust as the dark-type presents it to kyle as a gift. as much as kyle appreciates the gesture, he doesn't know how to think of an unconscious yanma as a gift.

he lets a pokeball take it away from his sights.

His jest almost earns a chuckle from the gym leader, almost. Of course, it’s too early in the day for them to encounter any legendary - including FERNANDO SILPH’s own. Instead, a small spider seems to make its way on the grass towards Kat, who in turn quirks a brow.

A Sableye is released from one of the pokeballs on her person, and it’s quick to shoot a mean DARK PULSE, causing the Spinarak to faint. Another Pokeball is retrieved in order to capture the bug-type.

“I was hoping for a Ditto, personally. From what I hear, he has a full collection.”

of all collections of pokemon that fernando has been accumulating, it's a rotom that actually catches his fancy over everything else.

"i'd like a rotom myself. i can automate all the appliance in my home so i don't have to do any cleaning. have you thought about rotom roomba forme?"

the mightyena quickly goes out for another bug as soon as kyle catches the yanma. within seconds, he comes back with another one. the wurmple seemed to be singed around the edges from the mightyena's fire fang, but at least the dark-type put it off before bringing it to kyle.

"do you think fern has some of those?" he continues the conversation as he casually lobs a pokeball at the wurmple.
