[break][break] he had arrived at the base just a few minutes earlier, having just returned from his new "job". though it couldn't have been really called even that — it just felt like the more apt name for the word. as of late, he had found his steps being retraced more and more often to lilycove. the civilians, it seemed, had taken a liking to him and the local police department as a result of that. at first, he had been unsure — he had his own responsibilities to team rocket, and to the boss. in fact, he'd turned them down. but as more of his missions had ended up in the town, the more he found himself being unable to stay away — he was a good kid, after all, and couldn't say no to good help. [break][break] flynn had hopped off the train to slateport, making it's way to the lower district with ease. he had been headed back to his apartment, when he'd decided to take a short detour to the lounge — maybe he would pop by and see if the boss needed anything, if she had any contracts for him. his wallet was feeling rather empty of late. [break][break] however, when he arrived, he'd seen some familiar faces coming out of the back door entrance. it was a group of them - they'd looked at him, gave him some strained smiles. one even patted him on the back. a chill settled over flynn, but he was unsure what it meant. [break][break] he stepped through the entrance, tapping his shoes of wet rainwater, and entered, pulling his hoodie off his head. the young mightyena at his heels nosed her way through the entrance, and at the end of it, he saw the familiar face of @carmilla. [break][break] "sorry," he said. "i didn't get the memo for the meeting. did i miss anything important?" he blinked, trying to look as genuine as possible, even though he was sure he looked as bewildered as he felt. maybe even — a little hurt.
