"I'll be back by 8pm!" Were the last words the single mother cooed before shutting the modern oak door, leaving Mason behind with her three so-called angels, each one of them smiling brightly as she left. But, once the door clicked close, those innocent smiles melted into mischievous grins. With glints in their eyes, they sprung off the pristine white couch and dashed away, leaving their babysitter absolutely bewildered.

"New years resolution, no more shit jobs." The brunette muttered under his breath. He knew, deep down, this job was too good to be true. No one as wealthy as Ms. Johnson would ever consider someone as inexperienced as Mason to watch over their children. Even if their parents were close friends-- it just didn't make sense. There had to be catch.

Bam. The sound of childish whining pierced through the air, prompting Mason to snap into gear. "Kyle, Henry, Jason!" He sprinted through the kitchen and dining room, his heart pounding wildly within his chest. A multitude of fears came flooding into his head as he made his way across the mansion, instinctively knowing exactly where they had scampered to. 'Please don't be hurt. Please don't be hurt.' When he finally arrived at the room, he was immediately greeted with the sight of the three children, crayons in hand, colors scribbled across the wall. Their pieces of 'art' included some self portraits, farm animals, and even an unflattering drawing of their very own babysitter.

It was at that moment Mason knew the reality of his situation. He knew this job was simply too big for one man to handle alone. It required a more specialized team -- specifically, the delivery boys duo. So, with the flick of his wrist, the teen whipped out his phone and sent out two texts to one special person.

Sitting atop his bicycle, Angelo’s lips curl into an amused smirk as he reads the text messages over, each one brimming with distress and an amusing opportunity. He hadn’t taken the other delivery boy to be a part-time babysitter. Knowing Mason, this was something that he definitely couldn’t miss seeing and so Angelo punches in a rare, short response and hits send:

‘On my way. U owe me 50/50 split and a beer.’

Then he’s pushes off, wheels of his bike crunching over the gravel path as he turns and cycles towards the Mauville address. It’s a good thing that he’s nearby and at the end of his deliveries, sun beginning to set over the hills, by the sounds of it his co-worker the backup immediately.

It’s about twenty minutes later that Angelo arrives at the house, the estate like something from another world with its huge fences bordering the perimeter and fancy double doors. Everything neatly pristine and like something from a fairy tale, untouched and far too clear. He sticks out like a sore thumb in the porchway, leaning his bike up against the wall with his dirty trainers and worn, old denim jacket. Angelo doesn’t seem bothered by his appearance though, shrugging his backpack further up his shoulders as he reached to press his finger against the doorbell – a loud, chipper tune obnoxiously resounding from within the house.

“You called for backup?” He says, when Mason opens the door, grinning in amusement at the teenager before his smile falters a little at the corners. “Woah… What happened to you? It's only been five minutes.” Angelo was tempted to lace some swear words in there – Mason did not look like he’d been through a stroll in the park – but his tongue automatically climatises to the presence of the children lurking within the house. It’s a habit, long burned into him from having a gaggle of siblings of his own.

Upon sending out the distress signal, Mason shoved his phone into his back pocket and marched over to the pack of wild hooligans. He plucked the crayons from their hands before giving them a classic 'I'm disappointed in you' glare. "Alright, back to the living room." His voice was stern, but given the looks on the their faces, the three of them were completely left unfazed. Rather, they took a moment to exchange devilish grins with one another before springing up and zooming towards the corner of the play room. There, nestled comfortably in the corner, was their wooden trunk of toys. Things were about to get chaotic.

Mason attempted to divert their attention back onto him through a series of "ahems", but they continued to rummage through the trunk instead, throwing back a variety of toys that didn't fit their criteria. Eventually, after the teen's 5th ahem, the ducktales trio found what they were looking for. A childish cackle broke out from the group. Mason stepped forward, his eye brow slightly arched. "What are you guys..." Then it happened. The three launched themselves towards Mason like bullets being shot from a machine gun. Each one of them had a roll of duct tape in their hands, which they used to begin taping up their sitter's legs, giggling crazily while doing so. "St-stop," He demanded. His arms flailed around desperately as he tried to gently push the maniacs off of him, but they wouldn't budge, not even for a second.

That's when the door bell rang. The loud tune echoed off the walls of the empty mansion, instantly snatching away the attention of all four of them. The children, who had assumed it was their mother returning, bolted towards the living room, wanting to prepare themselves for her arrival. This gave Mason enough time to tear apart just enough of the duct tape to free up his right leg. Then, with tape still clinging onto his left leg, he trudged towards the front door and swung them open.

He didn't answer his friend's question. Instead, he quietly ushered him inside and brought him straight to the source of the problem. "You have experience with kids, right?." He spoke in a hushed manner, taking brief pauses to eye the smiling children, "Cause these little things are monsters!"
