His eyes narrowed as he peered up at the statue housed under a rickety pagoda. Its moss covered shape, while worn and neglected looked somewhat familiar. Thinking back, he remembered it seemed suspiciously similar to that pokemon Remiel had mentioned, the one from Mauville. Alas, he had only chanced a glimpse. So perhaps he was imagining things.

Wonder if it will bring me luck, he mused, reaching up to brush some of the vegetation from the stone creature's face. This was his first ever safari, so he wasn't sure what to expect, but the grounds sure were gorgeous. Andy had a hope that he could pay the warden a bribe to just let him hang out here, or perhaps bring John Sullivan for a picnic.

A rustling of the bushes nearby drew his attention. Once again his eyes narrowed as he noticed a little dedenne peaking out at him. It was beyond his understanding how there could be so many variations of the venerable pikachu, but just when he thought he had seen them all, a different one would show up. The though briefly passed through his head to nab it for Hideo.

His time and pokeballs were limited however. And so, paying the creature no mind, he left the neglected shrine behind. Venturing further into the grounds, Andy wasn't sure what he would find, or what would find him, but none the less he would end up with even more pokemon to enhance his capabilities. Epitaph followed along behind.

The cool sensation that filled the fair, tickled his skin, was the familiar presence of a ghost pokemon. Now this is what he had come for. Carefully maneuvering through a thick stand of trees, it wasn't long before he caught a glimpse of the shining mono eye of a duskull. Smirking, he found this specimen perfect for his collection, a quality befitting the ground of the safari zone.

Not long after the duskull was absorbed into his pokeball, a brightly colored creature floated like a cloud across the lush green grass. It came right towards him, and at first gengar bristled until Andy waved him down. The drampa hovered up to him and gave him a look over, its red orbs blinking curiously. Andy tentatively reached out a hand for head pats.

The drampa acted like it was an old friend, which was an odd experience for a wild pokemon. Shooting a glance at Epitaph, he pulled his age old trick of initiating a hypnosis. Andy half expected he could have just mashed a ball against it and caught it without any aggression as well behaved as it was. Best not take any chances in such close quarters however.

Continuing on into a stand of trees, noise from the canopy drew his attention. Up in the branches a chimchar amused itself. Andy stood and watched for a moment and couldn't resist. Something like this was be too perfect for Hideo. And primates were fairly intelligent to boot, a fine companion. Motioning and point at the pokemon, gengar readied another hypnosis.

The chimchar secured, he continued his safari, thoroughly enjoying the experience thus far. He wasn't sure why he hadn't come here before. Probably the lack of ghost types. Along his hike he spotted a tauros grazing amongst others in a field. It was an impressive specimen, and would have made an intimidating steed. Though Andy wasn't really the one for steeds.

Moving on from the tauros filled pasture and back into a more wooded zone, the boy noticed an adorable buneary feasting on the underbrush. It was another one of those pokemon that was disgustingly cute. It wasn't for him. While again he considered Hideo, he noted that the blind boy probably didn't have a penchant for cute either.
