Another fire, the rumours were seeming to be true. And with Selena busy at the moment with her league duties, and the new year planning. Billi went to investigate himself..Or more so he sent himself to help with the efforts. His heart went out to the little pokemon that were running for their lives and had no home! Just...how sad. It may be cooler, but apparently that did nothing in this dry season.

He had arrived with a moment's notice, his Corviknight flushed out by the black smoke that was produced by the trees burning to ash. “oh….wow,” his camera flickered as the firefighters tried to tame the blaze. “......this is just sad,” the blonde frowned and moved to release Nayru from his pokeball, then his new found Shellos, “okay….Nayru…..Aqua Ring as big as he you can go,” he ordered the pokemon making the ring large enough for the small group to be shielded from flames. “Okay if anyone else is coming now is the time to head in.”

It was a call that he could not deny. A plead from a friend in need for his assistance. The Rustboro City Gym leader knew how busy Selena was. And if he every needed help, he would call her too. It only made sense to him to answer the call and rush to help.

Maverick was not gunna lie. When he first saw Selena Desmarais number in his phone, a mixture of nervousness and delight filled him. He hasn’t heard from her in a while and wondered if maybe her feeling for him was misunderstood by him. And honestly, he wasn’t really sure how he felt about her either. It had been a while sense he was in a relationship and was unsure how he felt. But when her panicked voice rang in his ear, his heart sank. Yes, he wanted to help her but also was hoping for more. All well…

It didn’t take long for the man to get to the woods from his home. And when he arrived, he couldn’t believe his eyes. Flames engulfed the once peaceful woods, burning everything in site. It had been said that fire started form some unknown reasons.

Reaching into his pockets, the man summoned his creatures that he hoped would help. Unfortunately, he didn’t have a pokemon that would help heal the injured but he had plenty of flying creatures to help carry injured or unconscious pokemon and humans out of harms way and water creatures to help control the blaze. The first set to completely materialized was dragonite, hydreigon, and altaria. All set of eyes on their master. “You three help them get them out of here and to safely,” he shouted, pointing to a small group of helpers with pokemon and humans who needed emergency medical help as soon as possible. The three dragon’s rushed over there to aid them.

While his dragon helped them, Maverick’s attention to the blaze that blocked his way. The next set of creature appeared where nothing but water types. A crawdaunt and greninja. Each them of did their own little cries upon being released before turning to their human for orders. “You two come with me,” he explained to the water types creature, “We need to control this fire.” The two nodded, following after their trainer into the blaze.

Quickly, he found a group of helpers as a familiar face ordered his pokemon to protect them with an aqua ring before calling out for others to join in. Maverick acknowledged Billi Marsh with a nod, rushing over there with his two creatures. “We are here to help in any way we can,” he shouted over the roar of the blaze, eyes fixed on the wall of fire, “Zarya use bubble beam and Cragen use Hydro Pump!” The crawdaunt pointed her claws towards the blaze, a stream of bubbles shot out of each of them at the fire. Meanwhile, the greninja did some fancy dance before he summoned a powerful jet of water at the blaze as well. If only he could breath water too.

The blond felt the heat from the flames fanning his body like hell itself. Sure they seemed to have just dived deep into the flames, but it was more than just that. Finding the source of the flames needed to be snuffed out or else these flames would continue like the cold war. Hearing the familiar voice then a blast of water lashing out around him like a pressure washer.[break][break]

Turning the head, he smiled “We need to find where it started,” he paused before jumping back because the flames shot out at him, nearly burning him, but the shellos spat some water at the flames. “ uuhh,” billi sent out his Galvantula, “I can’t see….maybe use rain dance so we can see,” and that way he wouldn’t fully over heat. It did as it was told and the downpour began![break][break]

“Can your froggo jump around and see if it can see what is causing it? I feel...there’s something inside it.”

This water creature blasted the fire with all of their might. But despite all the water, it seemed like they were not making it any better. Even as Billi summoned a electric spider to make the clouds above open up with rain, it was like this only made the fire even angrier. But Billi provided a good idea, turning to his oddly colored greninja as soon as he suggested it. “Hey!” Maverick called out to his creature over the roar of the fire. Cragen stopped his hydro pump to listen to his master. “Can you see what is causing the fire? Maybe use the trees to get a higher advantage point.” The creature nodded, orbs flickered over the trees not on fire yet to find a way up.

And in no time, the swift creature lunged up a tree that seemed promising. He made his way to the top, the crackle of trees falling over rang in his ears as he leaped from branch to branch. He got as high as he could, feeling as though if he went any higher that the branches would not support his weight. The creature peered over the massive fire, eyes widened as how big the fire was. His gaze searched, finding Camerupt deep within the fire whom appeared to be sick as it sneeze and fire erupted from its back.

Cragen nodded, shifting his weight to make it down and back to his trainer. The greninja began explaining to his master what was going on. But unfortunately, the man didn’t speak pokemon. Mav stared at the creature for a while, blinked in confusion before he snapped out of it. Reaching into his pocket, he summoned yet another pokemon. The large dragon bat spread its wings upon released, quickly snuggling up to Maverick as soon as it saw him. “Gahh Echo,” the man pleaded, pushing the cuddly dragon away from him, “This isn’t the time. Get off.” The dragon snuggled him one more time before she moved off, giving the human a wide smile. Maverick frowned, fixing his cloths before he spoke. “Can you tell me what he said?”

The noivern turned to the Greniniga as he spoke, using her ability of telepathy to let the two hear each others thoughts. “There is a camerupt deeper in the fire. It looks like it might be sick. It sneezed and more flames erupted from its back.” The man nodded, turning to Billi to fill him in. “Cragen said their is a sick camperupt that causing the fire.” The man paused, thinking to himself before shaking his head. “I don’t have anything to heal it. Do you have a pokemon that could possible heal the pokemon?” If they were to use a move like life dew or healing pulse on the pokemon, that should help. “If not, I can try to fly in with one of my dragons and rescue the pokemon. Take it to the nearest pokemon center while you and the firefighters control the blaze. I can leave my pokemon in your hands until I return.”
