People setting off fireworks near forested areas—how the hell-ass irresponsible could they get?!

That was a literal fire hazard in more ways than one!

So now there were reports all over the woodland sections of Hoenn of fires burning out of control just because people had decided to get too feisty and shoot off fireworks near a forest. It was always with the fireworks!

“Josh, I’m headed in!” she said over the earpiece, coming down on Sora the Braviary. The moment she touched down on the ground, she threw a Pokéball forward and watched as the lizard-like Water-type emerged.

“Rain Dance!” she began, pointing at the obviously-burning section of the forest. “Hydro Pump any big burning patches you see!”

The Inteleon went to work, summoning a swirl of gray storm clouds before letting it rain all over the nearby area.

More fires to put out. And this time not because of the war. No, this time some idiots had been lighting fireworks near forested areas, and not even trying to put out the fires they had been starting. Hopefully whoever had been responsible was caught, but that wasn't their job right now. No, as Rangers, their job was to put out the fires as soon as possible and protect the habitats of the Pokemon in the area. The two Rangers had come down on the forest on their Flying Types, and even Josh was shocked at just how out of control this forest fire had become.

"Sheesh..." he muttered as Gawain the Dragonite took him down. He already her Poliwhirl's Pokeball out and ready as he leaped down once they got near the surface.

"Kermy, Bubblebeam!" he called to his Poliwhirl as Kermy was let loose. The Poliwhirl didn't hesitate as it launched a barrage of bubbles at the flames. Hopefully they could gut it before it spreads...

The gray storm clouds spread over the area, and a few moments later the torrential rain began to pour. Holding its ground, the Inteleon kept its concentration as it ‘directed’ the storm clouds to move over a larger area.

Seeing a patch burning red with brilliant flames, a Hydro Pump came from its maw, submerging the heat with water and putting it out. Sizzling like hot coals, the fires were doused—for the moment.

“God, I hate it when irresponsible idiots start throwing shit into the forest,” she grumbled as Josh joined her. “What do they not get about ‘be careful where you set off your damned fireworks’, anyway?!”

Ugh. She wanted to go after whatever idiots had decided to do this, so close to a wooded area near the city, but what could they do, they had to put out the fires first!

"Don't think too much about it" Josh suggested to her, placing a hand on Izumi's shoulder as Kermy moved to another area to once again fire another Bubblebeam. But he wasn't having the Poliwhirl act alone, oh no. Not when Pokemon lives could be at stake. "Espio, you're up! Hydro Pump!" he called out to his Froakie as he sent it out, and the Froakie launched a Hydro Pump of its own to mirror Izumi's.

"This area will be placed under better watch once we're done here. They won't be so likely to get away with doing it here again anytime soon. I know it's frustrating, but we have to focus on what we can do, babe. That's all we can really do if we want to accomplish anything."

“Have you ever had the urge you want to kick someone in the balls just because they’re acting like a bunch of brats?” she grumbled even as she felt her husband’s hand on her shoulder. While sending out her Braviary to blow the fire away was a bad idea, thank the hells her Water-type had things under control.

Seeing a ribbon of flame spreading out from where it stood, the Inteleon then took aim and fired off a Snipe Shot at it, extinguishing it before the fire could spread further outwards.

“Make the rain stronger,” she called to the Water-type, and the downpour intensified as the storm clouds brewed faster, stronger over the burning place.

“...do you think there are people in there somewhere?” she asked him off-hand.

"Well I would sure as hell hope not. I don't know if this is going to be put out easily" Josh remarked as he motioned for his Pokemon to focus their attacks together in order to get the fires faster. They were spreading a little too far out, now, and they had to cut off the flames entirely if they were to keep it from spreading all the way to town.

"Squishy, you're up next!" he called to his Wishiwashi as the little fish would activate its Schooling ability to summon many of its kind to it, creating a big fishy monstrosity, who would then use Hydro Pump to help get the job done a little faster.

"Keep your calm, Izumi. If you panic here, your Pokemon will falter as well."

When he’d summoned the… okay, there were some things that defied logic entirely.

The Rain Dance concentrated on the area spread out, hoping to catch any more burning areas around the outskirts of Oldale, and she wondered what the local townsfolk would think when they looked outside and saw the clashing weather conditions.

“How the hell can that survive out of the water?” she asked of the Wishiwashi, watching as it summoned more of it…itself and began to literally swarm the area.

“Crank it up!” she called to the Inteleon, who let loose with another Hydro Pump attack.

"Not gonna lie, I have absolutely no idea" Josh admitted as the mammoth titan of a fish school descended upon the trees and used Hydro Pump. Out next came Dunamus the Swampert, who used Rock Slide to file down any loose fires that were getting out of hand, to buy time for the focused effort to get to them. It was a lot of work, managing so many Pokemon at once. But he had Lightning out as his forth, who had been directing traffic.

"I think we almost got it!" he called out to Izumi. The fires were almost out, just a little more to go, and they might just pull this off... But if they weren't fast, it would only spread again.

“Full power, now!” she called to the Water-type.

The downpour intensified as most of its attention shifted from the earlier Hydro Pump attempt towards the Rain Dance that released one final salvo of torrential rain. “If you have Rain Dance, add it to that!” she added a few moments later.

The clouds swirling above the ‘epicenter’ of the fire darkened substantially; even if it was the last round of it being present—it was time to go ‘all out’ now.

The Inteleon, never breaking concentration, let loose with the final burst of power, and the Rain Dance came down in earnest, hopefully extinguishing all the remaining pockets of heat.
