the buneary comes back with a friend in tow and points at the mightyena. kyle wonders what exactly is the plan the wild pokemon has, since even with the type advantage, strength between a trained pokemon and a wild one was undisputed.

though he supposed wild pokemon in the safari zone don't really have that much life experience.

"hyper beam."

before the dedenne can even make its move as it walks towards the mightyena with all the swagger it has, the attack starts to form on the dark-type's maw already. it blasts the electric-type down before any move can be made and falls. the buneary runs away for the second time, fearing for its life.

kyle lobs a pokeball at the downed pokemon, taking it with him for his collection.

kyle picks up the pokeball containing the chimchar and starts to wonder what kind of name noah would give it should he give him the fire-type. he guesses some kind of regular name a middle aged person would have, like freddy or something.

the winds overhead breaks his thoughts, causing kyle to hold his head up to see what caused the air currents to suddenly blow towards them. the sight of a drampa gets kyle to cringe as its shadow casts before him.

he's never quite found it normal to find that dragon flying.

he continues to traverse the safari zone, trying to find something that will take his attention so he can use his last chance to capture one of them into use. he decides that he'd just take the next one he'd see, as long as it's something that he'd have a hint of a chance to use.

a buneary appears from his sight later. it would've been useful, kyle figured, but he already has a lopunny on his repertoire. a second one wouldn't hurt, but getting a new species to his collection would be better.

he waves goodbye to the buneary as he leaves it for a better pokemon.

he looks at the ghost, and then looks at his mightyena. the type advantage is there, and if they're looking for an easy capture just to end this excursion to the safari zone, this was their best opportunity.

"crunch," he tells his mightyena as he readies to throw the ball as if he already knows the outcome of the clash.

the mightyena was faster than the duskull because four legs are better than zero. its fangs sink deep into the corporeal body of the ghost. it's somehow super effective even though kyle still doesn't know how to correlate biting with being a dark-type move. he resigns himself to game mechanics, knowing that some may just be unexplained forever.

he captures the duskull, finally marking the end of this adventure.
