Fernando is not one to be denied. He refuses to take no for an answer. Even from the dead.

The sands of Route 111 overshadow the ghastly presence that surfaces from the ether. He doesn't recognize her at first, only able to discern her origins from her uniform. It reeks of Megalopolan military wear, or at least that's what he assume they wear during the war. They still don't know enough to make basis one way or another, alienmorphizing them based on earthly standards.

"You can say something."

Silence.

Then nothing.

An eternity passes and Fernando is met with resistance every step of the way. He can feel her fight his grasp, reeling in an attempt to return to the land of the dead, and refuses to let her go. If he can't pry information from the living then he'll force it out of the dead.

Unfortunately, they are not alone.

His fingers contort against his will. Her pull is mightier than his. She has nothing to lose and is willing to risk it all. Him, not so much. So he lets her go, dispelling her in a shroud of MISTY TERRAIN.

He continues his hike, flexing his hand to comfort his muscle fibers from the sharp cramp of a wailing ghost. When he finds a good spot to stop, he summons her once more. This time he uses the other hand. It’s his dominant one.

This time he doesn’t fight her. She simply exists. A boundless soul held by the ether until the eldritch twist of fate reels her back from whence she came.

“Look.” He presents her with a Poipole. It’s one of many that he’s domesticated after the war. The way it abides by his command, so much as following his battle routine to the tee after his, “Execute!” leaves her wordless. The demonstration is enough to leave her unhinged.

“You lost the war.”

Against an Ultra Beast, the Rapidash has no chance. Poipole’s poison proves potent against the eternal mane that causes its VENOM DRENCH to combust and splatter all over its pristine fur. “But your people still exist. It’s not too late to save them.”

Like the legacy of her kind, the Rapidash evaporates under his command. A used Pokeball wriggles atop the sand, persistent until it finally yields. Only when does Fernando fetch it on his own accord.

“Or we could expunge them with your greatest weapon. Your choice, really.”
