Walking around Noelani lamented the fact that somehow, he had found himself in this cave. It’s not that he didn’t like exploring new places he just wished he hadn’t been talked to doing so the way he had been. It had come as a request, one of the sillier ones he had ever gotten but as always, the weirdest ones came from the richest people and this one was very much in that vein.

Some man born in old money had a fascination with aliens and seeking clues for them. Said man had somehow gotten word of a rumor of something strange roaming Meteor Falls and after a few calls the request of investigating the cause had fallen in Noelani’s lap.

That’s why he was here, walking aimlessly around in this cave looking for something that probably wasn’t there at all. If it wasn’t the reputation and doors this would open, he would have refused but well the alolan couldn’t pass it off.

He was already going down paths that probably rarely got walked through but for now that was enough. He didn’t want to get lost somehow but most interesting things did happen off the beaten path. Decisions, Decisions.

Noelani had been down here for three hours already when he finally encountered something that might be the origin of the rumors he had been tracking. It turned out to be an Espeon using Psychic to pick up random debris and play pranks on passing pokemon and people by making shapes with said debris and pretending to be some sort of monster.

The wild Pokemon had been hostile at first when it noticed him but after releasing Wikolia and the Vulpix gave it a trashing it quickly changed its tune. Kneeling besides it Noelani asked “What do you say about a wager? We see about who can give the best scare to a pokemon or a person passing by. If I win, I get to capture you and bring you along and if you win, I will leave all the food I have on me and then bring you more for the next three weeks.”

It kind of wasn’t faire since Wikolia was next to him with embers escaping from her mouth but the Espeon agreed. What followed for the rest of the day was a fierce completion of them trying to scare a bunch of other wild pokemon. It was close but after a well pulled off combo from Octy and Haku pretending to be some eldritch monster rising from the depths and transforming into a flying abomination the Espeon admitted defeat.

Looking at it Noelani simply offered the pokeball to it and after a bit of final hesitation the Espeon extended a paw and pressed the button enveloping it in light as it got captured.
