To catch Pokemon, of course! The outskirts were known as a breeding ground for a lot of less-savory Pokemon, ones that were popular with people with less charitable intentions. So why not catch a few for himself? Not like he planned to do anything bad with them; he just wanted different kinds of Pokemon.

And sure enough, his wandering attracted the attention of one such Pokemon. A Murkrow had spotted the boy wandering around, and saw him as an easy mark, so long as she could avoid the attention of the Aggron. She carefully tailed the duo, and once she saw a chance, she dove in.

But she’d underestimated just how good Hideo’s hearing was.

He’d heard something flying towards them, a distinct sound of air pushed by wings. He didn’t notice it until it was close - a couple of meters away - but that was enough time for him to react.

He tugged on his Aggron’s hand as he ran forward. His Pokemon got the hint immediately, getting in the way of whatever was flying towards them. The Murkrow saw she missed her chance, and tried to fly away, but Aaron’s retaliation was quick; his Iron Tail whipped her to the side.

She hit a wall hard, falling to the ground. Before she could come to her senses, the massive Aggron grabbed her, lifting him over to Hideo so the boy would have an easy time catching her.
