After a few minutes, Lex pressed on. Without a pokemon in sight, she began the search through the scattered trees around the shrine. There had to be pokemon around her somewhere.

And just as the thought crossed her mind, a shadowed figure appeared from behind a cluster of trees. The Duskull's alabaster face shone dimly beneath the shadows, peering from around the trunk of the tree curiously. Lex studied the pokemon for a moment, debating the usefulness of two Duskull. Ultimately, she decided against disturbing the pokemon that watched her closely.

The redhead continued to follow the path out of the shale of trees, leaving the Duskull behind and searching for the next pokemon to cross her path.

Lex sighed, hooking her thumbs in the straps of her backpack. There was a mild tug of regret at passing up the Duskull. A thief really shouldn't say no to a pokemon that could be of such use to her. Lex paused, looking back towards the distant tree line. It was too late now. Maybe another would materialize at some point during her adventure today. The deep roar of a passing Drampa lifted her gaze to the sky. The teal dual type floated playfully among the thick, white clouds phasing in and out of sight. Lex turned back towards the grassy field, continuing her trek through the Safari Zone.

The wide open plains and the blue, nearly cloudless sky encouraged Lex to reach for the pokeball on her belt that held her most beloved companion. The sphere with the blue stripe painted over the red portions released a large, cheerful Braviary. The raptor relished the opportunity to stretch his wings and lift off of the grassy ground with a few powerful flaps. Screeching, the predator took high to the sky, arching widely before folding his wings against his side to nosedive back down to earth. Aubie disappeared behind a grass knoll before reappearing with a small Dedenne squealing in his talons.

Lex sighed, poor thing. But Aubie was a predator through and through and the Braviary’s prey-drive was out of this world. The hunt satisfied the noble bird and Lex was content with that. Lex continued to walk along the Safari Zone’s trail, approach a red bridge that crossed a small, bubbling creek.

As Lex crossed above the bubbling creek, a flash of beige caught her attention. She turned to see a herd of Tauros thundering down a hill towards the source of fresh water. The trainer stopped in her tracks, watching the pokemon slowly come to a steady walk before approaching the creek. None seemed to mind her presence. After all, there was safety in numbers.Lex Leaned against the bridge's wooden railing. Her eyes fixed on a particularly spicy Tauros that shoved a smaller one out of the way to get to the fresh water. The pokemon happened to be just below the bridge. With a shrug of her shoulders, she took out her first Safari Ball, dropping it over the rail and onto the back of the unsuspecting Tauros, hoping to capture the leader of the herd.

The pokeball dropped heavily onto the Tauros's back. The pokemon bleated in surprised before being sucked into the sphere. The rest of the Tauros reared and bellowed, distraught by the sudden threat. The ground shook as they all galloped away from the trainer. Lex finished crossing the bridge and went beneath it to retrieve the pokeball. The tossed it into the air, catching it with one and before tucking it away in her pack.

Chaarrr a small voice called from above. Lex looked up beneath the bridge. A pair of large brown eyes peered at her from behind a wooden pillar. The Chimchar swung from the pillar and landed gracefully on a beam closer to her. "Well aren't you adorable," he smiled, leaning in closer to the monkey. He smiled, reaching out towards Lex. She met his hand half way with her finger. The pokemon warm grip made her smile, "You are definitely coming with me," she presented the pokemon with an empty pokeball and tossed it at the young Chimchar.

The Safari Ball lightly tapped the Chimchar, opening wide and sucking the pokemon in. Lex scooped up the pokeball once it gave the chime fo success and placed it carefully into the side pocket of her backpack. One more Safari Ball remained. Of all the pokemon that wandered the wildnress at the moment, she was unsure which she wished to run into next. There were a few on the info boucher that she hadn't seen yet.

Lex scrambled up the bank of the small creek and continued to walk along the path through the grassy hills towards the park's entrance. After a good bit fo walking, Aubie screeched from the sky. Lex paused, glancing up at the raptor. She hadn't seen him in a while. No doubt he was off hunting. The Braviary folded his wings and dove towards his trainer. As he got closer Lex could see the squirming prey trapped between his talons. The ball of fluff rolled across the ground to Lex's feet when the Braviary release it before landing, holding his head proudly as Lex inspected the Shiny Buneary.

The pokemon was still alive, just injured. Aubie rarely brought her anything truly dead. Its pink tufts of fur were matted with a bit of blood but overall it looked in good condition. Taking her last Safari Ball, Lex dropped it onto the shiny pokemon, attempting to catch it.
